I paid for him to get driving lessons as well. Once he got his permit and I called to schedule driving lessons, it took a week for anyone to get back to me. And then another 3 weeks for an actual driving lesson time. Because of the length of time it took to get a driving lesson scheduled, I started my son at a different driving school. When I requested the certificate of transfer that is necessary to change driving schools, the contact at Harmony was very rude and told me he would meet me at the school on a specific date and time with the certificate. I called him three times that day, once before I drove to school, once I was there, and once before I left. I waited 30mins in the parking lot before leaving. I have received no phone call. I have heard that other families have had problems as well with this driving school....such as getting the run around when asking for the certificate/money back when services were not provided, and not being available when calling. Will change my review if he gets back to me and provides me with the documentation that I need to get my son to take his drivers test at another driving school and money for services not received.

I'm wondering about the motivations of the people criticizing her in negative reviews. She clearly has a strong attention to detail and tries very hard to be helpful. The gentleman who works there did my student's road test and was also very helpful and kind. My teenager was so nervous that she was feeling unwell, but both of them were beyond kind and patient. (He made her laugh, which helped her relax.) I was beyond pleasantly surprised. My teen passed, and he gave some kind advice on things we can continue working on. I highly recommend Ideal.

I needed a local business that was open on Sunday's, and preferably one with competitive pricing ~ or better than! I found Ideal Driving School's parent and student reviews to be very positive and comforting. I gave them and call about 4 o'clock one day, they answered unlike another local school I called where I had to leave a message and then a call center contacted me back, and I had my son signed up for his road test on the date and time I needed) in less than 10 minutes! This was approx. one month before his sixteenth birthday. We were able to stop by the driving school the same day I booked the test to take a photo of the actual mapped out road test he would be taking ~ no problem! Very handy for driving practice. Today he took his road test! We arrived 10 minutes early and checked in with the friendly staff. We were able to pay using Zelle so that we didn't have to pay for additional fees for using a credit card. Next we met with the driving instructor before the road test, and were given an easy to read document to review that advised of exactly what would cause someone to lose points on the test or cause an immediate fail. Love the transparency! Practice makes perfect! The instructor was very friendly and my son shared that the road test experience was painless! Thank you Ideal Driving School! I recommend this school for anyone needing the Texas road test!

I will have my daughter come here as well when it is time for her test. The only negative I would say here is that the appointments on line are not really needed or used. I would recommend calling a couple of days before your test and just verify if they are available. He will let you know if that day works and then you just show up between business hours. The only problem with this is you may have to wait 30 minutes or so (as we did) because we had to wait for a driving class the was just ending. Otherwise great school and will be back!

I was so disappointed with this driving school. The classroom time was all spent looking up answers…read moreto questions in the driver's manual--sometimes the same questions multiple times. The behind the wheel instruction was even worse. The first lesson the instructor immediately took my son out onto a busy street--no empty parking lot or even residential streets, even though he had never driven before. There was no instruction at all during lessons, just things like "turn here" and "speed up." In fact, the instructor was usually on the phone during lessons. The first time I took my son out driving after a few lessons with the instructor, he knew nothing (e.g. he didn't know to check his blind spot). The staff was rude and unhelpful when I had questions. There is no way to reach them online or over the phone, so you have to go up there anytime you need to talk to someone or sign up for a drive time. And even though we always arrived early on sign-up days, we had to wait a long time. They don't even always have enough time slots for all their students, and in that case you have to wait another two weeks and try again.

We were not impressed with the quality of the 32 hours classroom course. It also included at least one movie clip my daughter had to skip because of foul language. When my wife tried to schedule the 14 in-car sessions, Dr. Lewis, the owner, said we did not need to do that, but only sign her up for 7 sessions. We thought we did not understand the process, but as we took our daughter in, our experience was that there would be two student drivers in the school vehicle, and each would drive 30 minutes and observe 30 minutes. However, the school counted it as an hour of driving and an hour of observation for my daughter, and probably for the other student as well. We asked Dr. Lewis about it again and received an unconvincing explanation. We finished the school last week, and I expressed my concern to a different staff member, and his explanation was that "you get up to 14 hours." In the end, we expected to receive 14 hours in-car, but received at best 3 1/2 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction and 3 hours of observation. We had to do a lot more of the instruction ourselves and feel taken advantage of.
