It's not obvious when you drive by what a gem this rec center is out back. I highly recommend taking a nice cup of coffee or iced tea and going around back to sit on the porch. They have ceiling fans, large Adirondack chairs and a fabulous view of Lake Okahumpka and nature. One of my favorite places to read a book or the paper and just relax. There is also a small boardwalk that goes out over the water and a fire pit with chairs. If you live in the Villages and have an ID, you can also borrow the checkers/chess to play on the outside tables or play darts or a video game inside.

It says it has over 10,000 square feet of newly remodeled space. It has many rooms for birthday parties. It has basketball, pickleball an indoor playroom for the kids. It offers classes for adults teenagers and children. It even had a small arcade room. The area surrounding the recreation center is beautiful. Across the street is a large lake/pond with a water fountain with a walking trail. When you pull into this area it has a tree-lined road something you just don't see anymore. The facility had plenty of parking and was very clean and well maintained. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy with kids everywhere playing and enjoying the beautiful weather we had that day. I wish we had something like this in Sanford, FL. Wether you want to bring the kids to play, host a small bday for your child or even like my fiancé does, basketball every Sunday with his friends. The times I've been here, I like how everyone looks out for the kids making sure they safe, you can take a little walk around the area and there's a even a big open field where you can play freeze-be or let your child get that energy out without worrying about a car coming towards them. There's also a center where the elderly can meet as well, so like I stated in the beginning it's for everyone!
