I feel like socks should've been included, but you are allowed to bring in your own from home and they don't have to be grip bottom socks. You are given a colored armband that indicates the time you need to leave. 4 stars because there were a lot of coin operated rides/games/machines to play with, however some of them were out of order (carousel, VR game) or were pay to play (air hockey, and another car type of vehicle). The decor and theming was impressive and there were two areas in the back where they had set up for parties that were not happening at the time of our visit. I liked how each set up for the parties came with huge balloon garland that color coordinated with the theme. A thunderstorm rolled through the area while we were there, and it was a nice reminder of why we chose an indoor activity to enjoy today. We spent an hour and 45 minutes there before we had to go, and of course our kids were reluctant to leave! I was also able to capture my friend's baby standing and walking while pushing a baby doll stroller which was very exciting! The sounds clash between yesterday and today. There are a few phone screens that glow underneath hand-drawn cartoon characters. But that's the charm. Galaxy Skateway doesn't pretend to be something new. It embraces what it is, a time capsule of what life was like. Going to the snack bar, you're greeted with a menu board with plastic blue letters, and you get a discount when you pay with cash. When my daughters walked into the skate rink, one thing that stood out was how many people were just... skating. People weren't on the sidelines looking at screens. All that was there was a DJ and simple skating games like Four Corners and Stoplight. Cliché songs from the 90s like "The Macarena" played as people rolleed past, all under the flashing neon lights. The cafe had a limited food selection, especially if you're looking for something higher in protein, but reentry made it easy to work around. We went to the mall food court for lunch and then came back for a while. The gift shop is excellent and has a lot of creative products you don't normally see. I'd definitely go again, especially now that I understand the layout and how everything works.

Adults-Only Science Night Live was a BLAST!…read more This was my husband and my second time at Orlando Science Center and I gotta say we love the adults-only nights. This time, we stayed basically from open to close, and while we definitely didn't manage to do EVERYTHING, there was plenty to keep us entertained the entire evening. Parking was a little confusing based on the event information, but we arrived about 15 minutes before opening and found a spot pretty easily. We waited maybe 10 minutes to get inside, so overall entry was very smooth. HOT TIP: If you're sensitive to loud noises, earplugs are a good call. There was a dedicated DJ music area in the dinosaur exhibit, but other places were maybe a bit too loud, too, but still so fun! The Optical Illusions exhibit was probably one of my favorite parts-- There were so many fun photo opportunities, and even the house of mirrors was a blast -- coming from someone who is absolutely not usually a house-of-mirrors person. We also stopped in one of the hands-on areas and played with a circuit activity, did trivia, explored the exhibits and caught Kaboom (a fun show, but YES, earplugs are a must there). Trivia was also a great little break in the night. We grabbed drinks, sat down and played a round. I loved that they had a no-phones-at-the-table rule. If your phone came out, you were disqualified until the next round, which made everything feel much more fair. Food and drink prices were surprisingly reasonable for a special event. A beer was around $5-$6, and a big cookie from a local vendor (Sapanguita--the BEST) was around $4-$5 -- definitely better than what I'd expect to pay at a concert or sporting event. I also loved that several of the food options came from local businesses. HOT TIP: One thing to keep in mind if you have accessibility or mobility concerns: getting between floors via elevator can take some time, especially when they're crowded. I'd build a little extra time into your plans rather than trying to race from one scheduled activity to another. Speaking of scheduled activities: GET YOUR SHOW TICKETS EARLY! Both Kaboom and the laser show required tickets during our event, and it sounded like you could grab tickets for your preferred showtime near the beginning of the night. We got very lucky and snagged some of the last Kaboom tickets, and only made it into the laser show because other guests turned theirs back in. The one thing I'd personally skip next time was the laser show. The concept was cool, but ours was around 45 minutes long and ended after midnight. From where we were sitting, I felt like I was craning my neck quite a bit and the lasers eventually started bothering my eyes. Even with earplugs, it was still pretty loud, too. It also didn't feel especially easy to leave once the show started because of the dark theater and needing to exit up the stairs! The soundtrack was very '90s rock/grunge, which my husband recognized and enjoyed much more than I did. Overall, though, this was a really enjoyable night and I'd absolutely consider doing another adults-only event here -- especially if there were a new temporary exhibit to explore.

This is located right next to the Dinosaur ride in DinoLand U.S.A. This entire area is undergoing a major renovation but one of the parts that has not changes is the playground and the Boneyard. At first glance, it looks like just a kids' play area--but don't let that fool you. It's actually a super fun place to explore, especially if you need a break from the long lines and walking. The whole area is themed like an old dinosaur dig site, and it's packed with things to climb, slide down, and explore. There's a big shaded dig pit where kids (and yeah, maybe some adults too) can uncover massive "fossils" using shovels and brushes. It's all soft, sandy gravel so it feels safe, and it's surprisingly relaxing to just hang out there for a bit. I loved how detailed the theming was--cranes, tools, signs, bones sticking out of the ground--it really felt like a working dig site. It's also fenced in and well shaded (but NOT air conditioned), which makes it a perfect spot for parents to relax while the kids burn off some energy. An added bonus is this is one of the many places in the park where you can earn a sticker for the Wilderness Explorer Badge. So, if you're in Animal Kingdom with little ones (or even if you're just a big kid at heart), The Boneyard is definitely worth a stop.

There is a bridge that you can cross once inside the attraction. It leads to an excavation site with larger than normal sand rocks. Kids can dig out dinosaur shaped bones or just fill tons of green buckets. Characters will visit the play area from time to time. During our visit we were visited by Pluto who marched around and played with the children. There is stroller parking and alcohol hand gel for when you leave.
