Neighbors doubles down on this evolution by bringing that NYC-esque, intimate, personalized, boutique experience. Their offerings are carefully curated, ensuring the highest levels of quality, while remaining accessible and approachable for both the most uninitiated and the savviest drunkards, alike. Having started during the upside down (COVID), their business model has required some creativity. Instead of offering in-store shopping, you can roll up to their service window and take away, or you can call in or place an order online, to either pick up or have delivered locally. They are super helpful and offer great recommendations/suggestions when in doubt. I am always happy to see new independent businesses open in our towns, but when the proprietors are cool, salt of the earth folks offering products I love, it's even better. Supporting them is a no-brainer and I'm very happy to call them my neighbors! (see what I did there?)

Liquorland's layout is different from Wine Emporium, and I'd say it's an improvement. It's brighter, nicely spaced and has the same selection Wine Emporium did, well mostly. When I get wine, I usually like to spring for something cheap. It seems Liquorland did away with that. So many of the refrigerated whites were started over $15. So, the prices are definitely up here. Still though, the selection is decent and the guys working the counter seemed pretty friendly. Above all it's more or less the only liquor store in the immediate area and is walkable to all the best dining in town.

As a regular customer who spends a significant amount with them, I brought it back to get a replacement and alert them about a possible bad case. I was told they don't do replacements. I was also told to get In touch with their distributor if I wanted a replacement. Replacing bad wine, I was told after they confirmed it had turned, "is just not in our policy!"I Well, shopping with people who don't take care of their customers is not in our policy either. Pro-tip, they share a big parking lot with other stores, restaurants, and ShopRite so be cautious as you maneuver through it. I've never been to this Total Wine before, and it honestly felt like heaven for anyone who enjoys a good drink. Anything you want, they have it. Checkout was quick and easy, and I learned they have a rewards program you can sign up for using your phone number. This location is conveniently tucked inside the Essex Green Shopping Plaza, right across from ShopRite. The name and storefront appearance in this little strip mall are truly uninspired. I've driven by hundreds of times on my way to work and never even considered stopping. On this one occasion however, we were running late for a party and needed to stop into CVS for something on the way. We ran into this liquor store to grab a bottle of wine, and the owner and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They asked if there was anything we were looking for, found us some wonderful options a good price, and even carried them to the front for us. I usually shop at the larger wine stores, but I love to support local, and this will definitely be my new shop for wine. If they don't carry something you are specifically looking for, don't be shy about asking, they will try their best to get it for you.
