Communication with the staff and management is so poor that haphazard is a generous description. The facility is shabby and the rooms run down. The residents are all warehoused daily in a common space with a TV. They are largely unresponsive. Staff hand washing is suspect...our resident got c-diff and had to be rushed to the hospital. Requests for diagnostic tests were not relayed, not performed, and/or the results not communicated. The office staff was always disorganized and harried. Our patient was not prepared for doctor visits, despite the staff assuring us they would be. Don't place your loved one here.

Physically, the facility is beautiful, clean, and roomy. There are outside patios, bird feeders, nice views from patients' The food is delicious. It is quiet, and quite homey. The staff and volunteers have been wonderful, professional, helpful, and eager to get the patient exactly what she needs 24/7 In particular we have been impressed with my sisters nurse, Susan, who is the consummate professional. She is compassionate and one of those rare professionals who is a good listener. "Being heard" is the greatest gift one can give to a hospice patient. I don't know all the names of other staff, but everyone I have met has been compassionate, helpful, patient, and kind. If you or a loved one seek Hospice Care, Chandler Hall is first rate. My sister loves and trusts her physician.

She went above and beyond in helping us, even going on Independent Living and Assisted Living tours with us and asking questions that we would never have known to ask. There are multiple restaurants, a state of the art gym, indoor pool, library, pool tables, shuffle board tables, a coffee shop and a very popular full service bar. There is also a convenience store for quick items like milk as well as a very inexpensive thrift shop with some very cool items. I've witnessed how professional and quick the maintenance team responds to service calls. Marge in the coffee shop is wonderful and remembers everyone's orders. There are always activities like live music, bingo, name that tune to name a few. I also have learned that the buy in to live at Juniper is much more affordable than other independent living communities making it affordable for more seniors. You also can have pets, a car, and even a unit with an enclosed balcony. Note: My review is only for independent living as I have heard several residents very unhappy with the level of care provided in their personal care buildings.

I had to send them a Google which said it was illegal that it independent apartment money that is owed is totally different than the medical part there. They knew they were breaking the law and they knew they were wrong within 24 hours I had her money, what do you think about that? Guilt and they knew they were breaking the law. It says a lot about the place doesn't it? And the CEO Catherine doesn't even return any phone calls all they care about is getting you in getting your money and it's just a total business and it's a poor business.

I don't remember my speech therapist name but the cognitive work she did with me was very reassuring that I wasn't as bad as I thought I was. And I can't even begin to say how fantastic my Occupational Therapist Amelia and Physical Therapist Keri were. The magic they worked on me can only be called just that MAGIC. In 2 weeks they got me ready to go home instead of having to go to a sub acute facility like I was originally told I would have to do. They could not give her medicine--I had to do it. They did not watch her and she had a fall. They told us they could handle patients with FTD, but the staff that was not up to the challenge. Artis Senior Living- Huntingdon Valley is a "god send." While my wife is difficult, the staff is up to the challenge. Starting with respecting all patients, they have managed to handle her meds, her incontinence and here wandering. They take responsibility for caring for her which gives our family the confidence that we can go about our business without constant interruptions. The "neighborhood concept" has made my wife feel part of community. She has friends and feels apart of an extended family and so do we.
