Communication with the staff and management is so poor that haphazard is a generous description. The facility is shabby and the rooms run down. The residents are all warehoused daily in a common space with a TV. They are largely unresponsive. Staff hand washing is suspect...our resident got c-diff and had to be rushed to the hospital. Requests for diagnostic tests were not relayed, not performed, and/or the results not communicated. The office staff was always disorganized and harried. Our patient was not prepared for doctor visits, despite the staff assuring us they would be. Don't place your loved one here.

Physically, the facility is beautiful, clean, and roomy. There are outside patios, bird feeders, nice views from patients' The food is delicious. It is quiet, and quite homey. The staff and volunteers have been wonderful, professional, helpful, and eager to get the patient exactly what she needs 24/7 In particular we have been impressed with my sisters nurse, Susan, who is the consummate professional. She is compassionate and one of those rare professionals who is a good listener. "Being heard" is the greatest gift one can give to a hospice patient. I don't know all the names of other staff, but everyone I have met has been compassionate, helpful, patient, and kind. If you or a loved one seek Hospice Care, Chandler Hall is first rate. My sister loves and trusts her physician.

I decided to confide in Dr Doner hoping he could reconcile the situation (as he's been there for many years) and he began cursing and shouting at me. This institution is not one of healing nor even remotely close to patient friendly. To berate a patient the way he did is unacceptable. Never in my life have I been treated that way by an authority figure in any profession, much less a doctor. Needless to say, I'd never return and I'd never recommend them to anybody. While the facility itself could use some updating (that's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) the Staff is incredible and they were extremely helpful during my Mother's stay at the facility. Nurses Anna and Vicky were incredible and my Mother, who was not the easiest patient, liked them very much. Unfortunately while at the facility my Mother's health declined quickly (not due to the treatment by the facility) and they helped me to transition my Mother to Hospice and made it possible for my Mom to go home to her own house for her final days. The Director of Nursing and the facility Manager were incredibly helpful in setting up Hospice and were extremely supportive of me as the caretaker. I am grateful to the staff and would recommend them to anyone.

The accommodations are beautiful and give a very relaxing atmosphere. WEL's staff portrays an overall warmth with friendliness and helpfulness. The meals, also, deserves a very high rating. I can not remember all of the nurses and nurses assistants names and I apologize for that. I don't remember my speech therapist name but the cognitive work she did with me was very reassuring that I wasn't as bad as I thought I was. And I can't even begin to say how fantastic my Occupational Therapist Amelia and Physical Therapist Keri were. The magic they worked on me can only be called just that MAGIC. In 2 weeks they got me ready to go home instead of having to go to a sub acute facility like I was originally told I would have to do. I can not express how thankful I am to everyone at St, Mary Rehab. As far as the food there were a few mix ups with the food I received but the food tasted good. Again thanks to all Saundra
