I don't have a last name. Erin was so knowledgeable, kind and patient. She took us through the entire facility. Everyone there was so kind. The staff members stopped to speak with us and the individuals living in that facility were up and about, laughing and having a great time. I have been to other facilities and the individuals living there were just sitting around doing absolutely nothing. At Arbor Terrace it was a great deal of fun, togetherness and interactions going on. We were looking for a facility of my nephew's mother, but to be honest, I would put myself in that facility. The staff members and the individuals living there have a great relationship. It was fantastic.

She chose to buy into Collington Life Care Community http://www.collington.com/ [non-profit CCRC] in [Mitchellville/Bowie, Md] in suburban Washington, D.C. Right away Mom plunged into lots of activities, planted the garden around her gracious cottage, took exercise and literature classes from Prince Georges Community College, on Collington Campus, and made friends with other active retirees and the very caring staff. She didn't partake of birdwatching, vegetable gardening, swimming, nearby golf courses, and some other outdoor activities. She chose to take on leadership roles in the Collington community and delivered Meals on Wheels. http://keepingupwithcollington.org/ When she broke her hip she was received rigorous and effective rehab while temporarily resident in the health center. When we 'made her' give up her car she was able to get to the Metro, shopping, doctors' appointments, Kennedy Center, Arena Center, and more via the Collington shuttle. When she had a small stroke she again moved back to he health center to receive rigorous rehab. Now she is back in her cottage, this time with a few hours of aides to help keep up her activities. Now as we spend more time walking the halls and grounds with her it's so gratifying to encounter numerous friends among the residents and staff who cheer on her recovery. I wish such stimulating, safe, and nurturing communities would be accessible for the growing upcoming senior population.

She lived in a beautiful cottage where birdwatching, gardening, music, walking her dog and making new friends filled her days. Using Collington transportation she had season tickets for the opera, the symphony, Arena Theater as well as enjoying many other cultural events at Collington and beyond. My 3 siblings and I fell in love with Collington's embrace of our mother and willingness to allow us to fully participate in Mother's life. In many, many ways through the years it became obvious to us that Collington valued its residents and wanted to encourage family involvement. The fabulous Sunday brunches, instituted by the head of dining services, Eli Ayoub are one of many examples. On any given Sunday one sees dozens of families, including children, grandchildren, even great-grandchildren enjoying the brunch together, feeding ducks on the lake. In these past two years, after a nasty fall, our mother was confined to assisted living. The care she received on Chesapeake was always compassionate and respectful. We grew to love each and every one of her caregivers. Again, we were encouraged to be there as much as possible. When the final days arrived our large family did vigil for a week. Instead of encouraging us to limit our visits, Eli arranged for a large hospitality tray to be delivered outside

After touring several facilities in Bowie, nothing felt right--until I found Bowie Assisted Living (12001 Lanham Severn Road, Bowie, MD). From day one, the staff treated my dad like family, showing genuine compassion and care. He received daily showers, three daily home-cooked meals, and plenty of activities like Bingo, singing, and group exercises. The staff checked on him regularly, even overnight, and allowed personal touches like his recliner and a bird feeder outside his window. When his health declined, they worked seamlessly with hospice to ensure his comfort and dignity. The facility is warm, welcoming, and far from the sterile feel of many others I visited. Every staff member went above and beyond, and it gave me tremendous peace of mind knowing my dad was so well cared for. If you're looking for a place that truly treats residents like family, Bowie Assisted Living is it. Five stars all the way.

The room is huge, specious and bright with large windows and multiple stations generously spaced. The physical therapists are A-1, and kind, patient and caring. I highly recommend this facility and I've been inside my share of them in the DMV.

The owner from the first day I met her was an angel and still is even though my brother is back to work now. The house is kept in tip top shape. The food is healthy and delicious. It is hard to find a place where you are confident to leave a loved one there. Not only is the owner a beautiful person but she is a Christian woman and it shows in her care for the elderly. I thank GOD for her and it would be the one place I would definitely take him back to without even thinking twice about it. Everyone works well together to get you in and out during your session and this includes the front desk staff as well. They take the time to explain what the problem is and how to get better. Just do what they tell you to do, and you will start to feel like your old self again. Ask for Ava! She was my favorite. She's extremely patient, and knowledgeable. Update- went back for shoulder pain from lifting weights. I worked with Ava and James who were great! Customer service is always excellent.

After about 4 weeks, I'm pain-free! The clinic is super clean (they sanitize everything after each use) and has top-of-the-line equipment. The physiotherapist Hetvi and Kobe were very polite, caring, and made me feel supported throughout my recovery. Highly recommend!
