I found this yoga studio in my search for a prenatal class. I have been impressed with both (studio and class). In the few weeks I have been attending I have been met with a warm, welcoming space as well as kind teachers (both the one who teaches my current class as well as the teachers I see in passing if I am early). If you find yourself expecting, Neely's prenatal class is awesome and she does a great job of creating a community of mothers to be. Very welcoming environment. The studio owner is kind and light. The studio itself is beautiful with wood floors and bright open windows, filling the studio with brightness. Really cute spot. The actually studio is in a office building behind a church. Instructor didn't arrive until 10 minutes before but there is a little waiting room. The studio itself is gorgeous. Big and bright with lovely hardwood floors. All the props you could ever want. The instructor was sweet and I enjoyed the class. I would come back but try a more vigorous class. read more

HY is honestly one of my favorite yoga studios in Spokane. The teachers here are very intentional and compassionate, the studio is comfortable whether you are a beginner or advanced in your yoga knowledge. I also appreciate that you can schedule your classes online which makes weekly classes a breeze! The only recommendation I would give HY is to expand their yoga class schedule a bit but otherwise I am grateful to call HY my yoga home! read more

I purchased a Groupon for this yoga studio. I thought it would be a good way to meet people in a new town. I have a little background in yoga. I've taken a few classes at a local gym back in California which was completely boring and felt like I just stretched for an hour. I've done Bikram yoga, and have a P90x yoga dvd which is pretty intense. I'd say the yoga I've taken at Harmony (Yoga 1-2) is a good balance. It's challenging but not impossible. And you feel great afterwards. The few classes I've taken have been with Diane, who is great and focuses not only on your body, but your mind as well. She teaches you to focus on yourself, your life, your happiness, etc. Yoga is a time for you. It is a time to reflect and focus on yourself and it is a time to improve yourself from within. There was one class where another instructor filled in for Diane and honestly, I didn't like her as much. Her class didn't flow as well and she was a bit all over the place. There were a few times she would have us work on one side of our body with a couple moves, but not do the other side. I'm not sure if she still teaches there. I have a couple more classes left on the Groupon deal so I may try the Yin/Yang or Flow. I really recommend this place if you want are looking for a good yoga studio. read more

Harmony is a fantastic yoga studio. The well trained and experienced teachers offer classes that will benefit your mind, body and spirit. The roster of classes is vast and they truly offer something for everyone: different teaching styles, skill levels, time of day, etc. The owner of the studio, Alison, is an extraordinary teacher. She is warm, compassionate and fun. Her classes are my favorite, with very precise teaching of alignment and a reminder to keep a joyful heart. She always includes a piece of teaching of yoga philosophy, which I love. If you've always wanted to try yoga, this is the place to see what it's all about in a supportive and peaceful environment. Before I dive into the review, please note that the yoga studio is on the back side of the building, up a cobblestone street. We almost missed the entrance! We tried out the 90-minute intermediate class. It was a slow-paced, normal temperature class. I would consider this class to be more of a beginner class for yogis that do a lot of yoga. The instructor looked like one of the owners from the manner she spoke, which was firm but gentle. I thought she had some wonderful adjustments to my poses, but the class was generally fragmented and didn't have any flow to it. The students, for the most part, were still learning the majority of what I consider to be foundational yoga poses (for example, we spent about 10 minutes going through how to step into half moon). That being said, the class was not packed, was very easy, and I would go back again if I want a good stretch in the future. What this isn't is a regular vinyasa workout. Truly, a yoga studio that focuses on relaxation and meditation. read more

I am not an experienced yoga practitioner, but know good teaching when I see it. Alison is a fabulous teacher. I appreciate her attention to each student and her focus on yoga practice and philosophy. Students are well supported and encouraged to work at their own levels but be open to new possibilities The atmosphere is peaceful- a beautiful way to start or end a day. i feel lucky to have Harmony Yoga close to home. read more
