When Dodger Stadium is behind you and you face the mountain, start counterclockwise--trust me, you'll thank me. On the way back, you'll enjoy a gorgeous downtown view. At the top, there's a painted seating area where you can rest and soak it all in. A couple of things that could be better: It's a dirt/sand path, so wear shoes you don't mind getting dusty--unless you want to spend each day cleaning them. It's usually around 6,000 steps for me--though that varies--and roughly 400 calories burned (but don't quote me on that!). Overall, it's about a 45-minute hike/jog with ups and downs--just enough to get your heart going, and then you can treat yourself to a city-state after. Pretty good overall--highly recommend it!

The weeds are high in some areas and the grass needs watering in other locations. Having said all that, it's a nice enough little park with at least one spot for an amazing view of downtown. I have never seen the movie, "(500) Days of Summer," but some people believe the striking view of downtown with the park bench in the foreground was shown in the movie. I can't vouch for that but that particular spot is gorgeous and perfect for a photo op. You'll know the spot when you see it. Worth checking out.

The entrance ticket includes a short tour showing part of the downstairs house and after guests can walk around the meditation garden with the Labyrinth. I thought it was peaceful and calm, it was like a very small version of Self-Realization as there were grassy areas and benches to sit and relax and meditate. I appreciated the fountains because the sound of running water is so calming.

This special overlook is above the Hollywood Bowl and a hidden gem to see Los Angeles (Hollywood) from a bird's eye view. You are right over the Hollywood Bowl Amphitheater and downtown LA. To the east, you can see the Hollywood sign (small in the distance) and also Griffith Park Observatory. There is a small (free) parking lot and a few benches if you would like to sit and watch the world go by. This overlook was built in 1984 and was named after Jerome "Jerry" Daniel, whom served on numerous of committees in the Santa Monica Mountains. He was very passionate about the mountains and worked tirelessly to preserve LA's history and nature. He helped to obtain over 50,000 acres of land for the public, which most of is now parkland. So this overlook is named in his honor. Views during the day, especially on a clear day, are beautiful and would be even better at night. However this little overlook is only open from Sunrise to Sunset.

Not just "oh it's a public park" bad, but genuinely shocking, like something that makes you stop and question how this is even allowed to stay open. I'm talking about conditions that feel neglected to the point where it's uncomfortable just being nearby, let alone going inside. I went into two different restrooms thinking maybe one was just unlucky... nope, both were equally disgusting. I'll be posting pictures because it honestly doesn't feel believable otherwise. It gives off this weird in-between vibe where you don't know if you're at a city park or some kind of neglected shelter space, and that's not something anyone should feel at a place like this. What really made it worse for me is walking into the recreation building with the basketball and volleyball courts and realizing it's the same story inside. Worn down, under-maintained, and just lacking any sense that the city is actually investing in it. Meanwhile, you literally have the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust right there being renovated and cared for, which just makes the contrast even more frustrating. How is that level of attention happening on one side, but the actual park people use daily feels ignored? It's honestly disappointing because this place has so much potential. The location alone should make it one of the best parks in LA, but instead it feels like it's being left behind. I hate to say it, but I probably won't be coming back. There are just too many other parks where you don't have to deal with this level of neglect.

We visited today and were lucky enough to catch a performance by the Taiko Project. Their performance honestly gave me chills! Love that they also talked about the history of taiko in Japan and US and they even had volunteers at the end of the show to try taiko drumming! There was also Kamishibai storytelling in the tea garden, which the kids really enjoyed. They also have Japanese Garden "I Spy" sheet for the kids to do and Clean Water Patrol activity book. This is def one of those low stress, high vibe activities that I highly recommend. Just a heads-up though, outside food and drinks aren't allowed inside, but water is ok. There are restrooms near the entrance as well as behind the tea garden. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids. We had such a relaxing afternoon and are already looking forward to coming back for more events at this little oasis.

But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

My younger son joined not knowing anyone and felt welcomed almost immediately. Both of my boys felt included from day one. The staff is incredibly caring, supportive, and attentive. You can truly feel that they work hard to create a safe, joyful environment for the kids, and as a parent that means everything. The activities are fantastic: well planned, age appropriate, engaging, and fun. The natural setting is also beautiful and feels especially important these days. My boys came home with confidence, stories, friendships, and summer memories they will cherish forever. And the camp spirit is real. We still sing the silly songs at home, especially the announcements song whenever we have a family announcement, and the birthday song too. I cannot recommend Cali Camp enough. It has been such a special part of our family's life.

I've certain found more members using the facilities but also discovered quite a bit of new programmings like the Pilates classes, mahjong club, live jazz performances and movie nights. I was not really sure about the change at the beginning but I am now fully embracing the new LAAC. Many of the staff and members have been here for a long time and it is nice to be greeted by familiar faces when coming to the club. The restaurants are pretty decent. Love to top my salad with a nice piece of salmon after workout at the Famous Players or have a tasty glass of scotch while enjoying the live jazz performance at the Invention. The sports bar Duke's has great happy hours and fun monthly evening karaoke or chess club meetings. The only thing I complain about is the need for shock absorbance and insulation of the noise or moving the weight station. The northwest corner of the Famous Players near Olive Street shakes every time the weightlifters drop their weights, which is very annoying and distracting for the diners. Feel like the ceiling or floor is going to drop out. No joke. For now, I would sit as far away from the northwest corner as I possibly can. But hope the club would look into it. I have been trying to sign up for the monthly wine tasting but they are always full. Maybe consider having the event more frequently or scale up? Regardless, I am still exploring all the new offerings at the club and really pleased with the Pilates classes and the live music performances. Although I am apprehensive when I first see the co-working space and the influx of new members, I now appreciate the additional events and classes that come with the new members and hope the club continues to do well and do better as I am here to stay.

As usual, water in the room costs money, and there are a few other products with hidden price tags in the room, too. Surprisingly, toothbrush and toothpaste was not provided. The water for showering also doesn't get too hot. In terms of the athletic space, the machines were very easy to access. There was never a wait even on weekend afternoons. The lap pool was my favorite part - clean and calm. There was some miscommunication between the lobby and the store, as one said there is no reservation system but there in fact was. But even when told all the lanes were fully reserved, more than half weren't in use. Parking is a bit of a hassle; for non-members it's definitely not worth it. At the time of visit, the parking machine wasn't working. There are also sperate elevators for parking vs the athletic club / hotel area which was a little confusing. The stair numbers also didn't coordinate the best with actual level.

This is the "Brandon Special" by Esther, not on the menu. I don't know what's in it but it's delish.

I have been to this park a few times and it is always a great place to go with the kids. There are swings, slides, and picnic tables. It is also dog friendly so you can bring your furry friend along for the fun. The only thing I don't like about this park is that there isn't much shade so if you are going during the summer months make sure you bring plenty of water or sunscreen! It's a great place for birthday parties too! We went there for my son's birthday party last year and everyone had a blast! It's also very clean which is always important when having kids around! read more

Harold A Henry Park is a great place to take your family for a day of fun. They have a wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot, which makes it easy for everyone to get in. There are also picnic tables and slides, as well as swings for the kids. Dogs are also welcome, so you can bring your furry friend along for some exercise! There's even a playground for the kids to run around on and have fun. It's great for birthday parties too, because there's so much space, plus there's plenty of food options nearby if you want to stop by before or after the party. read more

Nice small park in the middle of LA. Lots of green grass and even a play ground area for kids. Great place to walk to to take a break and enjoy the afternoon. Pretty well kept ground. It is shady and sunny. The park was well kept. The mom & dad were present with the two kids but if I was alone I might be nervous. Lots of homeless people hanging out around the park & in the park. Also dogs are welcome. This playground definitely served our purpose & needs. So if you are in town walk a short distance from Hollywood Blvd. to this park a few blocks away. Before walking back to the hotel we stopped at Mel's diner for a late lunch.

Food everywhere, people don't pick up their dogs poop, and trash is all over the ground. I wish another park was close by that my dog can run in... :/

Very family friendly and community friendly. Lots of doggos out, mostly on leash. Knew this park existed but hadn't thought to stop by until I was in the neighborhood. Lots of preferred spots go quick, especially at those picnic tables. Busy weekends and late afternoons. Open until 9am - 9pm during the week and from 9am til 5pm on Saturdays. Which I think speaks more for the recreation side of things. Typically you can note the sign that says no park activity between 10:30pm to 5/5:30am.

There's a sand pit, animals that spray water when you press a button, large jungle gyms, and slides galore. Cleanliness is what you would expect from an LA park. There's some graffiti, and it's not pristine. The equipment is fairly new, and there's always local families.

I love the big open grass area, we bring blankets and sit under the trees while the kids play. Never crowded and everyone respects space while wearing a mask. Even the guys who use the covered area are respectful to keep a safe distance since they don't wear masks while working out
