I am astounded at the results less than one week post op and flabbergasted at how quickly I healed and the fact that it was not necessary to take ANY pain medication (not even Tylenol). I "begged" him to do additional work that I deemed "necessary" (upper lift etc) but he would not budge and I am in awe of his understanding of what works on an individual basis. I was "nervous" about the lip lift and he assured me that it would be the result I liked best and he was spot on. Each recommended a lift and full implant replacement and strongly discouraged me from deflating my saline implants, warning me it would be extremely painful. That guidance never felt right to me. I initially had my implants placed 12 years ago and had always wanted smaller. At 24, I didn't feel I had a voice or fully understood my options. I never felt comfortable in my own skin, and the "bigger is better" mindset wasn't aligned with what I truly wanted. Dr. Guilof was different. He gave me his time, patience, and complete honesty. He genuinely listened, never pressured me, and made sure I felt confident and comfortable with my decision. Patient safety was clearly his top priority. He fully deflated my implants, ensuring they were not left to empty inside my body, which demonstrated his integrity and care for his patients' health. Despite what others had warned, the deflation process was not painful at all. Dr. Guiloff numbed the area thoroughly and carefully drained the saline using a syringe. He then gave me the opportunity to live without implants for several weeks so I could decide whether I felt happy naturally or wanted replacement implants. That level of respect for patient autonomy is rare. In my case, the difference between saline and silicone implants was minimal due to my natural breast tissue. While other surgeons pushed expensive "gummy bear" implants, Dr. Guiloff was completely transparent and never tried to upsell me. He even corrected the pricing with his coordinator when the cost of saline implants decreased--proving how genuinely honest and ethical he is. After waiting over 18 months to book, I finally had my explant with Dr. Rankin and his amazing team. Lauren (my concierge) made the process seamless--even traveling 10+ hours away was stress-free. Surgery day was smooth thanks to Tasha & Betsy, who kept me calm and confident. I was first case at 6 AM, opted for a nerve block + IV hydration, and was out in just 3.5 hrs. ZERO pain--Tylenol only! Minimal bruising, drains felt "funny" but not painful. (Take the arnica, trust me ). My surgery went well overall and I'm pleased with my recovery. The Bad: There was some miscommunication issues regarding my medical records, but that was resolved very quickly, once I reached out to Beatrice. The Ugly: Anesthesia. My interaction with Krystal, unfortunately, was a negative one because she didn't feel necessary to explain to me which meds I would be receiving. My post-op pain management could have been better. And lastly, I found Krystal's endearing names cringe worthy and condensing. Post-op follow up: As an out of town patient, I was given a 3 months-out for an appointment call with Dr. Dev. I found the length of time unreasonably long. No inquire calls were made about my health prior to the 3 month's mark. I think the issue that sticks out most, for me, is the follow up care for an out of town patient. Hopefully, this was just an oversight in my case, otherwise, in my opinion, this is an area where Dr. Dev's office could invest a bit more effort.
