Looks CLOSED, yet I see concert listings in sept/oct; mostly old metal bands, good area/venue for that.. Don't be stupid and aimlessly wander around this East end of Detroit. For out of towners this section of Detroit is an eye opener, plus depressing. The abandoned homes, businesses, prostitutes in the pouring rain, sad how this area sits today, bleak. Harpos has a beautiful sign, like a mirage in the distance amongst all the destruction.

This was my first "summer" harpos experience, and sadly it will be my last. At 30$ a head you would think this place could at least spring for some fans!!!! Nope!!! I was there this past weekend for Dope, Devil Driver, and StaticX. Harpos books some GREAT shows from some of the heaviest bands putting out music! It's a bit hard to enjoy them when it's LITERALLY 103 degrees inside with ZERO air circulation. Add to that the thick smoke stench, lack of toilet paper, overflowing toilets and lack of security and the whole thing is a hot hellish mess! Walking through the metal detectors at one of their biggest events of the year from a ticket sales standpoint and person after person is setting off the metal detector! Not one request to empty pockets or secondary wanding . You could feel the heat roll out the front doors as soon as you step inside. It was suffocating! We saw ONE fan (unless you count the ones being used by the bartenders who were serving drinks in their underwear thanks to the heat) or the ones staff at the mercy table were using. When the main act stops to bitch about the heat MAYBE it's time to upgrade a few things. Unfortunately Harpos is one of the only metal venues of this capacity for miles and miles. I'm shocked bands still want to book here! I've heard the legends of the extreme heat and cold but this was my first time experiencing it.

She was the only reason this night wasn't a complete disappointment. Unfortunately, Saint Andrew's Hall completely ruined the experience by clearly overselling the event. I paid $400 for three tickets, expecting to actually be able to watch the concert. Instead, we spent most of the night in the lobby because the venue was so overcrowded that people couldn't even get into the performance area. For a while, we had to watch the concert through a stranger's phone because that was the only way we could see anything. Eventually, we ended up in the freezing basement just to watch the performance on a screen. After paying hundreds of dollars for tickets, that's completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, staff told us we could pay an additional $30 per person just to go upstairs and stand. We had already spent $400 on tickets, another $250 on merchandise, drinks, and popcorn for my kids, and now we were being asked to spend even more just for the chance to stand somewhere else. That's not customer service--that's taking advantage of people who already paid to attend. There were so many people stuck in the lobby with us who had the same experience. It was obvious the venue had sold more tickets than it could reasonably accommodate. People who paid good money deserved to actually be inside the room where the performance was happening, not watching from a hallway, someone else's phone, or a screen in the basement. A venue's responsibility is to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for the people who buy tickets, not to squeeze in as many paying customers as possible regardless of whether they can actually see the show. Faouzia deserved better, and so did her fans. She was amazing, but Saint Andrew's Hall made what should have been an unforgettable night unforgettable for all the wrong reasons.

Been here many times for different concerts and it's a HIT every time!…read more From the main floor, to high top seats by the sound booth, to balcony seats, there isn't a bad spot here to experience your favorite band or act. Many show up early and start the line that winds around the building so be ready for that. Rain, shine or snow! Haven't ordered any food here through all the concerts we've been to but have purchased a few cocktails and beers and the prices are reasonable for a venue like this. Cheaper than an arena that's for sure! The lights and sometimes the pyro that is allowed here is top notch. Mixed with the sound that rocks your chest (depending on the band of course), you get your money's worth. All of the ones we've been too have "gone over the specified time". Whatever that means, we're enjoying it. Whether it's the FIlmore's doing or the band's doing by feeding off of the crowd's energy, we'll always stick around longer!

We started out with Happy Hour at The Fillmore Detroit Bar for food and a refreshing drink. The bar is the former State Bar. It is a cool place to chill and the service was very quick. I had a Watermelon Lemonade Riffresher, chicken tenders and fries. It was an excellent venue for us to hear from author Kamala Harris to talk about her new book, 107 Days. She was delivering a message on her short road to the presidential campaign and the state of affairs today that have many U. S. Citizens feeling emotionally hijacked....but I digress. This was a great opportunity to experience in such a beautiful venue. It truly reminded me of a more intimate Fox Theatre.
