Amaaaaazing food AND drink! The way they have the service set up seems to work really well. You order @ the counter and they bring it to your table. Came out in a reasonable amount of time and those GRITS! I've never had grit patties before and VERY much enjoyed them. My son and I arrived on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We had been there before so we knew the drill-menus at the service counter on hooks. Easy efficient ordering system with order numbers and a very hospitable staff. Our food arrived in a decent amount of time. We really enjoyed the open floor plan with lots of natural light. Our drinks were refilled without having to ask and our plates were cleared without having to ask as well. Their attention to detail is very much appreciated. I had the carne asada fries and my son had the pimiento cheese sandwich with parm fries. My only complaint is both of our fries being undercooked. Both orders were very soft. The brewery is located in the square in downtown Mountain Home. Went here on a Friday night, there was live music and the place was lively. A huge bonus, they allow dogs in the patio area! Had the cider, scotch eggs, poke bowl and blackened shrimp street tacos. My favorite item I ate was the poke bowl. It was flavorful and fresh. There was an ordinance passed a couple of years ago that allows individuals to take an alcholic drink (in a plastic cup with restaurant logo) within the square/district (4:30pm-12am). Food and service seriously lacking on our second attempt to eat here. It has been about 3 years since our last visit. Big family of 6, so we tried a lot of options. Felt like we were imposing on the staff while ordering. Walked right in and were second in line, so definitely not lackluster service because they were slammed or stretched thin. Brunch menu seemed to have a good selection, but upon orders arrival, Just disappointing. Cold French toast orders x2, and ridiculously ridiculously sweet. No way for the flavors to shine because it was soggy and drenched in the bourbon carmel sauce. Tasted more like state fair vendor food. Poke nachos were an insanely small portion with even smaller toppings amongst bare wontons chips. Not even remotely comparable to the poke bowl - which was a substantial dish. We know because a server tried to bring two to our table (we didn't order them.) There was maybe 1 Tablespoon of actual tuna on the poke nachos. Kids meal sliders were the only thing not receiving complaints. But I only knew there was a kids menu after I tried to order sliders (from the row of menus hung at the counter) and modify them for my daughter. The girl at the register asked if I just wanted the kids version, to which I replied there's no kids menu even listed anywhere. ‍ I ordered the buffalo chicken salad and asked for honey mustard dressing - waitress came to our table and handed me dressing and said "Sorry. They gave me buffalo sauce." and was clear she knew it was wrong, but wasn't correcting it. Equivalent of one chicken strip cut up on the salad. Blueberry lemon pancakes were just okay - again, overdone with sugar. Everyone did like the extra breakfast potatoes they added a la carte to our order. When ordering 6 waters, they asked if we had a bar tab open. I'm visibly 9 months pregnant, dining with my husband and 4 kids (17-10yo) They only gave us two glasses with ice water and said we could get paper water cups on the other side of the counter. This place is just not worth the hype if you are expecting to eat a meal. The restaurant is set up pretty cool. With seating outdoors and a whole other section upstairs. There was a big chess board for the kids to play with but was missing over half the pieces. I suppose if you're going for alcoholic drinks and appetizers than this could be satisfying. But that's not been our experience either time. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Literally avoided the headache of asking for a manager because the staff seemed so put out by simply working, I wasn't expecting anyone to care about our complaints. I wish I had taken pictures of the dishes we experienced. But the whole ordeal was meh. Especially when we tip well but basically serve and clean up after ourselves. read more

Beautiful atmosphere and seating. Food was absolutely delicious! I tried my mom's mushroom Swiss burger and it was amazing. My husband got the salmon BLT and loved it. Tried my stepdad's chicken tikka tacos and was good. My son got sliders and loved them. Other son got pot roast grilled cheese and said it was delicious. Daughter got chicken strips and fries and she and her dad said they were excellent. I got the salmon bowl and it had good flavor. Didn't like the sauce but all else was great. Best restaurant bar we've found in the North Ozark area! Walk in and sit anywhere, thrn order drinks at the bar on left - and food at the back-right counter. If you run a tab, it is valid at both counters (food & drink). The bar and dining area is clean and has plenty of table space. We started with drinks, and I recommend the Blood Orange Margarita or Spiked Lemonade. There were so many fun appetizers, that we ordered several and made a meal out of it! Apoetizers we both loved: Chicharrones w Pimento Dip, Carne Asada Cheese Fries, and the trio of Rapps Sliders. In addition; I loved the Shepherd's Pie Fritters, although my wife was not a fan. This was a tough one. Interior is def 4 stars. Love the finish work on the inside and the building itself. Warm inviting environment and the cool garage door open look for a restaurant/brewery. We ordered the shrimp and grits and beef street tacos and I ordered the pilsner. Shrimp and grits.. first bite was very sweet! This was odd as I am used to something a little more spicy. Maybe it's Louisiana style that I am used to but this wasn't for me. Too sweet to the point where it overpowered the rest of the flavors on the plate. Solid 3 star dish. Street tacos were standard not amazing not bad. Meat was cooked and seasoned well but nothing that really stood out, solid 3 stars. Pilsner was sweet and very light I added lemon because it was almost like drinking a Corona. I would go back to try some different items but first pass was 3.25 stars. read more

What a cool place in downtown Mountain Home! It is self order at the bar and the food station. We had then tater bombs, pork skins (chicharones) with queso!! Would order the pork skins with queso again. The black and blue burger was just ask expected. Nice grilled onions and blue cheese with a nice beef patty. Would highly recommend for larger parties. Nice picnic tables and seating areas. Kid friendly. The Minnesota sushi was different. Cream cheese and pickles with ham. Eat them while they are hot. Pimiento grilled cheese. Mountain Home needed a place like Rapp's so badly! I see us spending a lot of time here!! We happened to go on a night they were hosting a benefit so it was very lively! They frequently have live music which I love! The food was great; good flavors and generous portions! To start, our table shared the pretzel with beer cheese and that was a big hit. We thought the beer cheese could have been a tiny bit thicker but the flavor was definitely there. For our meal, my husband and I shared the Mahi street tacos (3 per order) and Parmesan Garlic fries. So tasty and fresh. Lots of fresh parm and garlic on the fries, which we loved. Ended our evening with a few beers and spritzers while we listens to the live music. Rapp's Barren is a beautiful gastropub with plenty of cool spaces to enjoy. I've been here couple of times when on vacation and I alway enjoyed my visits. I'm a bit of a beer nut and visit breweries wherever I travel. Rapp's Barren beers are good. I wouldn't put it the category of the best breweries I've visited but they have some solid picks. I prefer New England, American and West Coast IPAs. Their beers all have very low IBUs, in particularly the IPAs. They are very clearly labeled as such, so there's no false advertising here. ;) The food quality is quite good with a nice menu selection, reasonable portion sizes. It's a good value. If you're in the Mountain Home area, check it out. Even if you don't like beer, the food is worth the visit. read more

Oh how I want a grilled pimento cheese sandwich and garlic Parmesan fries complemented by a cold brew. The menu has many selections from a delicious and fresh poke bowl to a juicy burger. And don't forget about the beer. Behind the bar is a board describing each brew so you can make a well informed choice. Ambiance is modernized warehouse. Let me just say, oh my gosh this place is good!! Ignore the bite out of my Cuban sandwich. I was too overzealous to eat because it smelled so good and it tasted good as well. The fries were incredible. They had this seasoning on them that I couldn't place, but it was incredible. It's a walk up style restaurant, so there's no waiters or waitresses but that did not take away from the amazing experience in this restaurant. This is probably a awesome place and the evening to hang out and have some beers. I also wouldn't be surprised if they have a band every now and again. My hubs and I ate here for lunch, and it was delicious. The gal told us when we were ordering that there would be a bit of a wait for our food, but since it's all made fresh, we didn't mind at all. I ordered a beer and we sat at one of the tables and people watched. The ambiance is really fun in there. Very spacious and open concept, and there's an outdoor roof/patio area upstairs. Lots of different seating to accommodate a date night or a larger party. I had the carne asada street tacos and they were delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly. I'm allergic to raw onion, so I opted out of the onion/cilantro marinade that is supposed to be drizzled on it, but the tacos were still really flavorful. There was some type of appetizing sauce lightly drizzled over the meat, and it added a nice, subtle kick to each bite. The 3 tacos came with a small side of crunchy tortilla chips, and the meal was more than enough to fill me up. My hubs ordered the Cuban and a side of parmesan fries, and all was devoured. The sandwich was really good sized and there was something slightly different tasting about it, but that made it even better. I'm still not sure exactly what it was that gave it the extra something special! The French bread was deliciously crusty and the Swiss cheese oozed over the sides of the sandwich. The parm fries were lightly tossed- which is exactly how they should be served- and crispy hot. Everyone was incredibly friendly; from the bartenders, to the woman taking our order, to the gal who asked us how everything was going, and even the goodbyes we received when we left. We're looking forward to continuing to try different items, and excited to have a good vibes gastropub in our area that offers delicious FRESH food and beverages, along with a good time. read more
