Stay away from this breeder! She promised us a puppy and backed out at the last minute because we were in the same state as a rival of hers. I am a Disabled veteran looking to train a puppy as my service animal. She made degrading and hurtful accusations about me and my wife that were untrue. I had an unpleasant experience with this business, very unprofessional in every manor. My girlfriend had contacted them inquiring about some puppies. The owner was very rude and disrespectful to my girlfriend, so she was inclined to leave a bad review. Upon reading the bad reviews, The owner took the liberty to message myself, whom previously had zero interaction with the owner. The owners message contained nothing but foul language and bad grammar. In Multiple messages referred to my girlfriend as a "dyke" as well as going so far to call me an "Army Leg". I've never seen the likes of this amount of unprofessionalism and wouldn't recommend anyone to do business with her. Dobbie Den was highly recommended. I was looking for another red Doberman as I had lost mine 4 days prior to my birthday. The website at the time had shipping $550.00 door to door delivery. I was out on a waiting list since April and waited for every litter to get my girl. One was born October 20th 2022 and I immediately responded I wanted her. I purchased new bed blankets toys harness etc the same day. An email was sent for a $300 deposit. The pups would be ready to go home December 2nd weekend. 6 weeks old. I really didn't want to drive 8.5 hours one way by myself and I had made a call to one of my cousins if she would go with me to pick up Sophie. The rest happened in a few hours but mind you I had 6 weeks to finalize picking her up and making arrangements for the care of my other 4 legged kids. Another cousin has since responded she would be glad to come with me. I inquired about the door to door delivery on her website and that is when things turned unpleasant. At the time I was just making inquiries with other door to door services. I was advised that people from New York and Florida were driving to pick up pups from same litter. She wanted to meet new owners. Dobbie den decided they didn't want to sell to me and too many ifs and to return the items I bought and keep the name tag for another dog. This is just within a few hours of my inquiry. I had 6 weeks to finalize my trip. I could drive by myself if needed. Since they decided to not sell to me I received responses from several companies that do offer door to door service are delivering despite Covid . All of them said puppy must be 8 weeks old and have health certificate. airlines require puppy to be 8 weeks old to fly. I felt uneasy in taking a 6 week old puppy from its mom and numerous states including mine have restrictions on selling under age puppies. Dobbie den is located in North Carolina that has no restrictions. Socialization is important for puppies that occurs between 6-8 weeks of age. Conflicting reviews from dog trainers and other professionals as to whether leaving mom too early leads to aggressive behavior but leaning heavily toward aggressive and other behavior issues. Something you do not want in a Doberman. I have been advised that it is illegal in South Carolina to travel with a puppy under 8 weeks of age without its Dam. You risk $500 fine, going to jail for 30 days and having you puppy taken from you on the spot. South Carolina code 1976 47-1-200 states Must not be imported or exported without being accompanied by its dam. I'm confident she has a good line since she has been breeding for over 30 years and I hope her business does well. The fact remains she wants all sales in North Carolina which has no laws against the sale of underage puppies. I doubt that I would have been told not to drive through South Carolina or risk confiscation of my puppy, fine and imprisonment. A few other states have similar restrictions but since I live in Georgia I would be traveling several hours in South Carolina. I carried a brief case handcuffed to me and I carried a loaded .45 in case someone tried to take it an I was authorized to use deadly force. I can drive 8.5 hours by myself I just don't like to. I can take care of myself if needed I just don't want to be put in that position. My experience with Doberman goes back over 50 plus years. As a young girl I went with my neighbor to dog shows to help her with her Dobermans. She showed them. They are not perfect squares they never won top prizes. I also helped train them. My neighbors who highly recommended Lisa I have spoken to twice. All i know is their last name and the dog has the same name as mine. I'm sure her kennels are AKC compliant but the selling of underage dogs (under 8 Weeks) is not legal in many states. North Carolina does not have an age limit. I had already found another breeder close by who welcomes me to come visit once the pups are 4 weeks old prior to posting my review. Do not leave until at least 10 weeks. You are a foul human and deserve the awful review!!! So because I wrote a bad google review she sent me a picture saying "So many haters, not enough room on my ass for their lips." ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! Here is what originally happened: I emailed them to get placed on a waiting list for a pup and was asked some questions. Standard stuff. I answered the questions and before they could possibly know my background they already placed judgment on me that I couldn't handle a Doberman. I further answered their concerns and was once again shot down with rudeness and judgment saying I don't have the temperament for a Doberman and the person I was emailing stated "I clearly made the right decision." This was just after me telling them I've had my hand in brilliant dogs and training them and simply telling her my living situation wasn't what she assumed it to be. My next email apologized for coming off as rude but that her professionalism should never be stunted and I stated I was glad to not have given my money to her when she placed such quick judgment and assumptions on me. Also the way they respond to their bad reviews is just another sign of their terrible professionalism. They clearly don't have the "temperament" to breed such beautiful animals! And before she lies to you, I could add a Doberman to my rental agreement... Just like I said she assumed, and even after I told her I could have one she still wants to lie on the google review... She may also state I didn't answer her questions which I answered all of them! The one she thinks I didn't answer was already answered in my first email, I stated I wanted a girl dog because I had a girl dog at home. It's been a couple of weeks since we visited the Dobieden and met with Lisa and Ernie. I have to say that they were both very cordial in all of our email and phone correspondence prior to our visit and they were even friendlier in person! We arrived in the early afternoon and Ernie took us on a tour of the kennels, introducing us to all of the adult dogs (who were healthy and HAPPY and excited to meet us), including the momma and daddy of the puppies we're went to look at. He gave us a little background on each dog's history and personality before introducing us to the puppies (who live in the house). Lisa and Ernie answered all of our questions and let us hang out with the puppies and some of their personal dobies for several hours so that we could see all aspects of their personalities from play time to dinner time to nap time. They were up front about what they breed for and why their program is run the way it is. They had no issues answering questions about some of the bad publicity that I saw online. In the end, my husband and I could tell that they are good people who love their dogs and hate drama! They will not sell to anyone who isn't going to take good care of the dogs, and they will take a dog back if for any reason the owner can't take care of it anymore (so that it won't end up in a shelter or a bad home). In the end we chose to purchase a puppy from Harraden's Dobieden, and we have a beautiful healthy (yes we had him vet checked) new addition to our family. Lisa and Ernie have made themselves available for us to ask questions any time we have needed them, and they are happy to do so. They even took time out to show us how to post our puppy's cropped ears properly, and offered to come to our home to help with posting if we needed it. They set us up with vet records, puppy food, etc to get us off on the right foot and ease the transition to a new home for our pup. If you have any doubts about this breeder, give them a call and set up a visit so you can see for yourself. Ask them the hard questions and if you don't like their answers, take your business elsewhere. Make that choice for yourself instead of taking everything you read online as fact, or you might miss out on a wonderful dog and some really awesome people! I would definitely recommend Lisa and Ernie for anyone looking for a doberman with a solid temperament and a loving heart! I give Harraden's Dobieden a 5 star review without hesitation. I reserved my puppy, ahead of time, wanting a blue Doberman male because I love the color and I already have one of the same. I knew what questions to ask and what answers to expect. My first conversations with Ernie and then Lisa were very encouraging. They were so friendly, inviting and knowledgeable that I knew I wanted to do business with these people. Lisa kept me in the loop beforehand on the first litter to be born. She was as excited as I was for me to get exactly what I wanted, if possible. That litter didn't produce my Babee Blue (his name), but the next litter, just two weeks later, did. I would have waited even longer if I had to. I was contacted when female mom Cali's labor started and as they knew it would be, my excitement was overwhelming. Babee Blue was the first born. This was the best experience with a breeder that I've had. The love the Harraden Dobieden owners have for what they do and the animals they surround themselves with definitely shines through in a wonderful way. My puppy is healthy and beautiful and I can't say enough about the positive experience that led to him being a part of my family. read more

I am not sure of the negative reviews for Lisa and Dobie Den. I bought Mesa from a litter in February 2011. He just passed away at 12 1/2 years old and was my 5th puppy I have owner since 1981. He was the BEST dog I ever owned, well mannered around all people (infant to 94 years old) and was naturally protective of all of my 5 grandchildren and extended family. He was a very low maintenance dog and easily trained. His only fault was he gave to much lovins' (kisses) and affection to all especially me the owner. I have talked to other breeders here in North Carolina researching my next puppy and it appears they are jealous of the breeder. Mesa weighed 102 pounds of solid muscle and did not have any hip issues. When my wife and I visited there kennel in 2011 over 8 dogs were loose and they all behaved, got along and were responsive to Lisa's commands. The only reason I have not gotten another puppy now is my upcoming shoulder replacement next month. As soon as the surgeon says I'm in good enough shape to handle a Doberman puppy I will be contacting Lisa. People have to remember that a Doberman is not a low attention dog ie..purse pooch. They require as much attention (if not more) than a child. But you will be there everything as you to them. Thanks Lisa for Mesa and the memories and I look forward to getting Winslow. We got a puppy from here and she is doing great. The owner of the business, however is by far one of the rudest persons I've ever encountered. Her attitude almost made us request our deposit back before we even got the dog. Her emails following our trip down were horrible and we've had to block any communications with her. We got a puppy from them and she turned out to be a blessing to our family. Deja Pearl is known and loved by everyone at the Lowe's in New Bern. When Deja and her daddy walks in the store everyone stops what they are doing and calls her name out loud. She is a very loving and smart girl who knows that her Lowe's buddies will give her some treats if she does her tricks. She knows her right turns from her left turns while walking around the store. She LOVES everyone she meets. She is known by name at Tractor supply as well as at Academy Sport store where she visits ever weekend. Deja is loved by a lot of people and never meets a stranger. Everyone ask is she a service dog because she is so well mannered and sweet. To Lisa and Ernie the dogs are their family and are treated like loving family members. You can feel the love between owner and fur babies when you visit them. We can never thank Lisa and Eerie enough for sharing their dobie family with us. I purchased a puppy from Lisa and Ernie Harraden in 2007. He was from a litter from dixie and bullet. They do not represent reputable breeders at all and have been harassing me and my friends since I reviewed her business on Facebook also. My dog from the time i had him was trained in obedience and socialized with other animals and people. I started having behavioral problems with him being aggressive and unpredictable. There was no medical reason for this per his vet. We had numerous trainers involved with him trying to get his aggression under control to no avail. He attacked several dogs and my daughter. The Harraden's would not take him back, nor would I had given them him after learning about how they treat their dogs. I am not the only one who has had negative experiences with them. Just google their names and a ton of information will come up for your own judgement. I'm in contact with a lawyer currently about this and have paperwork to back up everything I've stated. Please do not do business with these people. They do nothing to better the doberman breed. read more

Harraden's Dobieden !! I have to say I love both Lisa and Ernie. We have been friends from the time I got my Doberman baby Freyr June 2013 . They have a beautiful home and the kennels are superb. I have fallowed the birth of all the babies born from the time I got mine. All dogs are well taken care of and look beautiful. We talk every day about our dogs. Love everything about them and what they stand for concerning the dogs. Like I said in my previous post we are still like a family of Dobermans!! I had an awful experience with the owner of this kennel!!! Just awful and I have the emails to prove it. She was so difficult to deal with, I did not even purchase a puppy from her. I knew if I had any problems with the puppy, I did not want to have deal with such a rude person. After some checking on the web, I found other negative information regarding this kennel. I had problems with rude and harassing emails and had to request for the owner to stop emailing me. I feel sorry for the puppies and dogs she has at the kennel, since in her email she states she leaves them alone for very long periods during the week.
