Two days in a row at a place I don't particularly care for is a bit nerve wracking. The service itself ( like the perfectly orchestrated visitation yesterday ) was likewise executed to perfection! Each staff member of this place knew their part by heart and it was amazing. A truly gifted pastor named Reverend Tommy Wright delivered the main message. Another lay person also gave an uplifting speech and provided Holy Scripture as his reference. Blakely Funeral Home performed beyond excellent! Of course I highly recommend them in your time of need.

Everything was orchestrated perfectly from the visitation, to the service to the graveside ceremony and military send-off. I've sadly attended a number of funerals but this ceremony was, by far, the most memorable and flawlessly executed. From the time I was born until my rebellious fifteenth birthday I went to church here. Several times a year I visit the graves of family and church folks who were instrumental in my Christian upbringing. There are 799 documented burial sites here. The folks who were laid to rest at this place have an indelible place in my memory and heart as I knew a lot of them. Cherokee Creek Baptist Church is doing a wonderful job!

I did take some photos of graves that I found interesting and I hope you like also. A lot of these memorials are touching. All in all, the church has done an excellent job in maintaining this place.

I recently bought a grave marker for my sisters grave from grave stone.com. Before purchasing, I…read moreasked many questions before ordering to make sure it was in compliance with cemetery rules. A picture of the marker was provided via email. Once the granite stone was completed, it was delivered to Chesnee SC. site. We received a call saying that they could not accept the stone marker. The marker is a higher quality stone with lasered print and picture. All their reasons for declining the stone were all ready stated to Carrie before ordering. I do not trust this company and they are very deceptive in dealing with the customer. I would not want any of my loved ones buried there.

Along side of him is his interned wife. There are 228 documented memorials here. The cemetery was in excellent condition and it was obvious that this church is involved with its care. I didn't see any really old tombstones but I'm sure they are there as this is an old cemetery.

This very well maintained cemetery dates back to earlier than 1874 when the city of Kings Mountain…read morewas incorporated. The oldest determinable grave is that of Martha Fullenwider who was buried in 1835. The cemetery contains over 8640 graves. There is a dedicated Veterans section with appropriate signage to honor those who have served the United States. Under a bald eagle above, the Veterans monument has the engraved seals of the six branches of service. This is an active cemetery. I saw two separate burials underway when I visited.
