Used to be good Company until it was absorbed into new corporation. Ordered from their paper catalog & paid by personal check on 2 different occasions. Received partial shipments. I then received invoice from them for tariff surcharges. This extra "hidden" charge was NOT disclosed on their order form! I'm expected to pay tariff on items I have not even received! After several phone calls, I finally received a refund for 1 item in the form of a prepaid debit card for an amount that was less than the actual price of the merchandise itself! Ordered battery powered desk lamps. You can tell it is cheap plastic. If it worked, I could live with the plastic. Open up the battery compartment, pop in the first of 3 AAA's. The battery rests on the spring on the '-' terminal, and does not reach the '+' terminal. Unbelievable. The spring does not even compress. The design of the battery compartment is so off for the AAA's. I put the other 2 in, close the compartment, turn it over, and you hear the batteries fall out. Sad. I received two stop top burner covers from Harriet Carter. One top had two defective lines in the red paint. They want to charge me to return a product that should never have been sent to me. The return mailing costs are 40% of the cost of the original purchase. The quality control is non existent. I will never order anything from them again. Done! read more

My mom ordered a bible word search and a bottle of castor oil on March 17th and it was supposed to be shipped or delivered to her on March 24 2025 she didn't get it until March 29th at 7pm. I ordered a few items my mother wanted for Christmas on 12/19/22. Got emails saying products were being prepared. On 12/24/22 received a letter from them stating my credit card was declined. I then called them on 12/26/22 to see what the problem was. I called them as instructed and again was told card declined. They had my phone number and email address and never contacted me directly or sooner. She said if I gave her another credit card, she would process the order. No way lady! If you all couldn't get the first one right, why would I give you another!?!? I gave them the benefit of doubt and called my credit card company. It's Christmas and maybe my card was compromised. This company has been a catalog company for more year's than I even know. Their merchandise can be found in other low cost catalogues. No one else is charging to deliver with a surcharge due to Covid. The say a percentage off and then tack on fees we never had before. I will never use them again. Harriet Carter and Feel Good were purchased by Amerimark Interactive, which is owned by Prudential Capital. Search the internet for complaints filed with BBB, etc. Buyer beware ordering online. If one calls and speaks with a customer service representative there's no guarantee the price verbally stated will be reflected in their email invoice confirmation. Also they may add in additional fees. Both companies try to covertly sign up customers for monthly membership reoccurring fees. Would not recommend doing business with either company. If one must purchase from either one perhaps call and record the conversation and use a source as a credit card that will stand behind disputes over charges. Customers have reported partial shipments, wrong products shipped, the list of complaints is long. Be careful. read more

Do NOT order from thlis company. I orderd a set of fondue mugs for Christmas. They arrived 4 days after Christmas, and when I opened them one of the mugs had the handle broken off. I called the next day and was told that I was out of luck...no refund, no replacement. There is nothing on my invoice that says the item is not returnable, although it does say "100% satisfaction". I will never buy from their or the Dr. Leonard line again. I spent about $100 on an order and was wondering why it was taking to long to get. The day i got the tracking number which was about 3 weeks later, it said the item had been dropped off by federal express the day after I order it. I told them I never received the items and wanted it shipped again and they wanted me to pay for the items again and get free shipping. Not acceptable. They have backwards tracking, unreliable service and no good customer service. Maybe the pandemic should pull their company underground and dissolve. when I received the product I opened it and followed the instructions as leaving the wedge for 12 hours ofr so to turn into its normal shape, after 2 days the wedge still didnt take the shape advertised on TV. The foam isnt firm and if you put it between the matress and the wall, it won't stay but fall right down. the wedge cant even support a pillow i ve contacted harriett customer service and they asked me to return the product to get a refund which I didnt do as they forgot to put in the package the return ticket. I order 2 items on Dec 1st for my wife, on Dec7th they said the items were shipped and i was given a tracking number. when i ordered they said the items were available and i would get them in 10-15 days. i checked the tracking daily on the 17th i called and asked where my package was. i was told it would be here on the 18th. I have made 8 calls to them and I'm told the same thing every time it was shipped to USPS, yet when I checked with USPS since the 7th they say they are waiting on the shipper to send it to them. when I call Harriet Carter they say it was shipped, and that is all they can say or do.They will not call the shipper and fined out why it has not been shipped. their 100% satisfaction Guaranteed is just words on paper. read more

BUYER BEWARE....If you order from Harriett Carter make sure you really want the item and make sure you keep the packing slip because trying to return it will be awful . I accidentally discarded the packing slip included in my order and since I was unhappy with my purchase and wished to return it, I contacted customer service to have them email me a return authorization form.  with my.  I still have not received it.  I called again and put in a second request and the lady I spoke to said that just a simple EMAIL would take 7-10 business days.  How is that good customer service?  She should have been able to send the email while we were on the phone. Is this a way to NOT to be able to return merchandise since we only have a small window to do so?  This is so ridiculous. They verify your name, address and email but cannot send us an email? So by the time we get the email and return the item, it will be too late for a refund.  She explained she could not send the email and the a higher department does after review.  How does this make any sense at all?  I asked to be transferred to the 'higher department', only to be hung up on.  This is shameful and I will never order from them ever again. read more

Harriet Carter is a mail order/Internet order catalog house with a showroom located in Horsham PA. The show room allows you to see many of the items they sell in their catalog. You can also order online and pick-up your items from their showroom if you live in the area. Their showroom feels a bit old to me, but it is nice that you can at least see the product first. When I walked in, someone quickly asked how they could help me, and they quickly led me over to the product I was interested in. After telling them how many I needed, they quickly filled my order and I was in and out of there in a matter of minutes. Their tagline is that they sell distinctive gifts. I picked up one of their catalogs on the way out and flipped through it days later. They sell a number of "as seen on TV" items and many of their other items seem like something I would find in an old person's home. There are probably a few decent items in the catalog, but I would question the quality of much of it. I was in here for a couple of handicap placard protectors, so we'll see how well they hold up over the long term. It's nice that they have a showroom and let you see the products and as I mentioned, customer service was quick and friendly, so for that I give them 3-stars. Many of the products in their catalog is not something I would be interested in, so likely won't be back anytime soon. read more

It is cheaper than some places. However, when you order online, they just notice when they send it to you without tracking number or some else. If you want to track your order, you need to fill out your phone number and billing zip code; and, if you hit enter, it means you agree to share your information with 3rd party. I just purchased the Pet Pads. They are a horrible quality. They were advertised as WATERPROOF. They are NOT. Not even close. I put a few drops of water on the pad and it went straight through. Do not purchase these. They are a waste of money. This is the second item in the last few months I have purchased and been hugely disappointed. I wrote a review on the Harriet Carter web site and it was not posted. They said it could not post at this time. Convenient, because it was a bad review. Be careful when you order from Harriet Carter catalog. Their "free shipping" offer means that your order will be missing merchandise when it arrives and the explanation from "customer service" is that free shipping offer expired and we eliminated some merchandise. I Order two products from Harriet Carter.. I was not told at the time I placed the order that there was a 30 day wait for the back order!!! It has now been two week and the part of the order that was in stock has still not arrived!!! Their on line tracking process doesn't work!!! Long hold to talk to someone in customer service. Person in customer was good on the phone but didn't make up for the problems other than telling me they outsource ordering to an other company??. One of the two products I ordered came today the name giving in the Harriet Carter catalog was not the same name on the product I received!! The box looked like it had been opened and the product looks cheap. Still waiting for the other part of my order.. so far very disappointed. . Follow up.. I was able to contact supervisor Gretta, I told her about the issues.. She was outstanding!! She agree the product sent to me was not the same product I had order and was on my order form.
