After way too many years of passing by, I stopped in to the Rhoads Garden. As a plant Momma, there was a nice assortment of reasonably priced plants and plant accessories. An added bonus was the darling little birds (parakeets maybe?) whose home is in green house area. Too cute! The outdoor section was a bit bare but it was to be expected as it is Winter, but the gift shop area was packed with all types of unique goodies! I only left with an adorable mushroom plant pot, but am making room in one of my windows for one of their super full hanging baskets. read more

I might be one of the last people in the area to finally visit this place. Over the past year, I've been having flowers delivered from there, but today I needed Mother's Day flowers at the last minute. I ventured out and made my first in-person visit -- and it was packed! There was a line at the register, and the selection of premade arrangements was wonderful. I ended up going a little overboard and bought four flower arrangements, a candle, and a wind chime. If I had more time, I probably would have bought even more. read more

Called Rhoads Nursery this AM to order something for a family member who has been a lucrative client of the the nursery for over 35+ years. The gentleman in the Nursery tried to be helpful but the season is not ready for what I was hoping to find. On to plan B, the Florist. I asked to be transfered to the florist. Let me preface this by the fact that I am a retail merchant. The florist sounded irritated by my questions and behaved as though she could not wait to get off the phone. I had the website up looking at options, I must say, rude, rude and more rude. I was given about 6 minutes to get through my transaction and felt very rushed. I should have hung up and called another vendor but I had no time to start again. This has nothing to do with design. It has everything to do with bad attitude. The Rhoads Brothers should be able to do better than this with their staffing. This is not the first I have had this type of experience with a staff member of the Rhoads Nursery. The Rhoads Gardens is my absolute favorite garden center and gift shop in this area! There are so many incredible items to see, it's truly a feast for your eyes. Whether you're a gardener at heart or if you have the proverbial "black thumb," you're sure to find something amazing at The Rhoads. Kim, just one of the customer service ladies, seems to always be there when I stop by and she's by far, the friendliest person. The entire staff is helpful and courteous. And you can tell that they take pride in their work. The store, every wandering room, is beautifully decorated with items ranging in price from very affordable to "when I hit the lottery I'm buying that." Overall, if you drive near the area and don't stop by The Rhoads Garden, you're missing out on a real gem! Stop by. It's definitely worth the trip! I call it my "inspiration station." read more

They're the best! Customer service is fantastic and it's a place where you feel like everyone loves their job. They are not very near me but I have been shopping at Rhoads Garden since moving to the area 6 years ago. I have never had a bad experience. I love their nursery as well as their clothing and gift shop. I have an autoimmune disease and we are in the middle of a virus pandemic and my husband won't let me go out to any stores. I was wondering how on earth I was going to get my usual herbs and annuals if I couldn't go anywhere; but never underestimate the persistent of an avid gardener. Our local nursery sent out email saying they would deliver, but when I went to their site the inventory was very limited and there was nothing I was looking for. I checked back a week later and they had added some herbs and annuals but they were all sold out! Now I was really panicking. I checked online but everywhere was sold out of herbs especially. Day before yesterday I decided to send email to the local nursery and see if they would be getting more stock, and while I was at it I sent email to 2 Bucks County nurseries, including Rhoads Garden. I sent a detailed shopping list with my name and phone number. So far, the ONLY one to get back to me was Rhoads! Molly called me to say they didn't have everything I wanted but that they would be getting a shipment in a couple of days and she would grab what she could. Turns out she got me everything I wanted - in just a day! And she was so patient with me as I tried to decide what I wanted and then added to my list. Today my plants were delivered, including basil, parsley, my usual red geraniums, some coleus for a shady window box, lantana, a bag of potting soil, and this gorgeous mandevilla! She even saved me money because I usually buy the gallon-sized mandevilla but she said they had a 4-inch pot for around $12! Molly and Rhoads Garden really earned my loyalty this week. Have been living in Swedesford, know the history and enjoy getting my plants and more at Rhoads Garden. Terrific ideas, options and eclectic supply of design and clothing inside. Best chocolates, too! On my way to our beach house, I stopped in the Garden area and it was empty except for one customer. My goal was to get a plant that had color for one of our gardens. I asked the blondish haired woman "what would last through October" and cooly she replied, "anything here". I replied, "REALLY?" for which she mocked, "REALLY"? At that moment, I held my VISA very closely and almost addressed her but didn't want to engage with her mood. But then, she yelled at the clerk at the checkout woman, and now there were customers including me. I detest bad manners and SHAMING anyone, especially a coworker. I picked up a five dollar nothing(of course the sales woman never could show me anything) and walked up to the counter. The woman was embarrassed. I told her I was sorry to see that. Her reply was meek and acknowledgement was made. I said NO one should talk to her that way, that I have come here for thirty years and never was treated nor saw anyone treated like that. It might not be Disneyworld there, but taking advantage of your moods towards customers and co workers is wrong. Made for fewer sales for you! read more

In looking for a replacement of my rhododendron, I was greeted by multiple sales people independently who were knowledgeable and directed me professionally to a good replacement in the form of a cherry laurel. I used to love ordering from this place. They do a great job with their flower arrangements. Unfortunately, a member of their staff who takes floral orders over the phone is so condescending and rude that I've decided to take my business elsewhere. She interrupts you when taking orders and is very huffy in general, like you're bothering her with your order. There used to be a different person taking phone orders but they seem to have been replaced with this other, unkind individual. I will miss you Rhoads Garden, but I have chosen to take my business to another local florist that is more pleasant to deal with. read more

Such a beautiful place to shop for plants, floral arrangements and other lovely gifts. Stopped in last week to get a floral arrangement to surprise our daughter for her birthday, Nurses Day and Mother's Day. Not only did they have a large and stunning collection of arrangements for Mother's Day, they took the time to call her, on a very busy day, to say a delivery would be coming in the next 15 minutes. We arrived with the flowers and were able to completely surprise her with our visit and a beautiful gift. This simple gesture really made the surprise visit complete. I have nothing negative to say about Rhoads Garden, except that I probably spend too much money there! They offer an enormous array of high quality shrubs, trees, roses, perennials, and annuals. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. But Rhoads is not just a nursery, it's also a beautiful boutique, which includes its own flower shop. You'll find a large selection of beautiful and unique home accessories, on-trend clothing, jewelry, and tons of upscale gifts, including a sweet baby area with adorable gifts and other items. They also have stunning Christmas ornaments/decorations. The flower shop at Rhoads Garden always has a wide selection of highest-quality freshly cut flowers, some of which are already in arrangements, ready to go. They also have fridges with premium loose flowers, which a florist can arrange for you on the spot. Their arrangements are always breathtaking and never ordinary. I know I am gushing but it is one of my favorite retail spaces to visit. I passed Rhoads on the way to drop off my great niece at her gymnastics class. I was dying to see their plants. For my great nephew's birthday party my niece bought some plants at Lowe's. They were sorry looking. I ran over to Rhoads. I couldn't believe the quality of their plants. So many and so big. Extremely reasonably priced. I bought an impatiens. I live in Virginia and the same plant size here would be double their prices. So when I left town to come home I stopped there and bought another impatiens. It's doing extremely well. read more

We recently had Rhoads Garden take care of the flowers for our wedding reception, and we worked with Shannon. We were not the easiest customers, I have to say. For example, we weren't sure what our wedding colors were (we didn't even know that we should have wedding colors), and when she asked us for pictures of what we liked as far as arrangements to give her an idea of where our interests lay, we forgot them and never got them to her. So...she had to work from a very blank slate, you might say. Despite this, Shannon was never short of fantastic. She was a joy to work with and she excels at what she does, from planning to execution. From the sparse information we provided her during our consultations, she constructed the most fantastic arrangements. We didn't know what we wanted when we came in, but we sure felt that she nailed it after we saw them, from the corsages to the centerpieces. She accommodated every request we had and on our big day she had everything where it needed to be when it needed to be there. I won't go on and on with the details (I could), but let me say that a month has gone by and my wife and I still talk about what a wonderful job she/they did. We felt that we made the best possible choice by going with them, and I can't recommend them highly enough. read more
