And, sad to say, for quite a while my search for a truly exceptional drycleaner proved less than satisfying. However, when I discovered Courtesy Cleaners in Closter, NJ half a dozen years ago, I finally found a resource (a mere 15 minutes from home) where I could completely and confidently entrust my (too) many bespoke tailored garments, as well as custom shirts, sportswear, high-end bedding, etc. Courtesy Cleaners is thoroughly professional, consistently excellent, and, as a true bonus, unfailingly friendly. They devise solutions whenever presented with a cleaning challenge and take the time to contact me if issues or questions arise that require further discussion. Additionally, it's expertise extends to an A+ laundry service -- which includes my fine linen shirts, which are unfailingly returned impeccably cleaned, pressed, and packaged with care. Beyond dry cleaning and laundry, the alteration work is above par -- equal to (or surpassing) any I've experienced in New York City -- and this has proven to be true not just for me, but also for my wife, who is unafraid to bring luxury garments in for alteration by their highly capable seamstress. Turnaround is timely, and pricing more than fair for the truly exceptional quality of the work performed. Moreover, the staff and owners are simply nice people who always go the extra mile to make your wardrobe look as good as it possibly can. I could not recommend Courtesy Cleaners more highly.

I have been coming here for the past several years. The last time I dropped of my clothes here for…read moredry cleaning was in mid-March 2020 pre-COVID-19. I returned here to pick up my clothes recently to find their new limited COVID-19 schedule. See my pic with their new post COVID-19 operating schedule. I wore my mask prior to entering. I waited for the last customer to exit before I entered. The same owner was there and she also wore her mask. In addition they had dry cleaning clear plastic wrap stretched across the counter to protect both parties. I will continue to return here for my dry cleaning needs.

I bought a black dress with a lace belt in Paris for my wife, of which it was worn only once prior to bringing it to the cleaners after we came back stateside. Symphony cleaners took the garment for dry-cleaning and I noticed a sign saying that they are not responsible for lost or damaged articles of clothing, which by law and personal experience, is absolutely false. All cleaners, my parents included, are always held liable for damaged-within-reason or lost garments . Otherwise there would be no reason for cleaners to have insurance! But I noticed it and thought it odd but didn't want to make a point of it to the people who would be caring for the dress I handed them. I did notice security cameras and thought it was a good idea for the security of the business as well as the customer though. Sure enough the dress was returned cleaned but without the belt it came with. When asked about a missing piece of the dress, they claimed fiercely, that there was no belt, upon which we responded that we were 100% sure that we had given the dress with the belt and that during the time that our dress was in their custody, that they had lost it. This is where the security cameras came in handy because the woman who was manning the counter turned the screen towards us and screamed how the evidence supported her claim that there was never any belt... except that in the last few seconds of the footage, it was clear that the long lace hanging off the back of the dress was the belt and that she hadn't checked the entire footage. So with a sheepish grimace she said she'd look for it. It ended up taking nearly a month for her to locate it! During that month we had feared that it wouldn't be found and we asked for store credit, upon which we were offered $50 credit on a dress that cost more that $200 that now would look like a moo-moo without the belt. No matter how we felt how the dress looked, legally, the cleaners are obligated to compensate monetarily to a price commensurate with the original price and factoring usage/wear-and-tear. What's worse is that they wanted us to surrender the dress to them if we accepted their $50 store credit. We refused and then the next offer was no money, with a bullying/bluffing tactic to try and sue them!!! Needless to say none of the clerks mannerisms were calm, reasonable nor professional. By the end of the month they had found the missing belt with the excuse that it was shipped to another store, as all of their dry cleaning doesn't take place at the store but rather outsourced to a third party vendor, which is normal for most cleaners. Without a SINGLE apology from start to finish, the entire experience left us angered. If it was just about mannerisms, I wouldn't bother writing a review. But their negligence to accept responsibility for garments handed to them, which is their SOLE responsibility, they are shameful in their practice and there are always other cleaners. I do believe that businesses improve by feeling the loss of customers. And if you want a better cleaners in your neighborhood, you should avoid Symphony Cleaners.

Their tailor was understanding and gracious, and had the work done by the next morning. It was perfectly done, and pricing was very fair. Thank you, Gentle Touch! What an absolute gem.

Prices are comparable to the market and absolutely in line with the quality. The customer service is out of this world. The owners are kind and pleasant and always have an appropriate, yet encouraging word to say. It's the good ending to an event when I'm dropping a fancy dress off at the cleaners and I'm always excited to pick them up again. I've had clothes successfully altered here, but have also been turned away from alterations. "It doesn't need it." Christina has said. "I could charge you a lot of money or you could just pin here." she's pointed out. Fair dues. This place is pleasant, efficient and really does have a "gentle touch". There's a reason it's been standing for close to 30 years. Highly recommend.
