I live 2 and a half hours away. We have several casinos in Maryland yet we choose to drive to Harrington. It is always clean, patrons are well behaved and the food used to be good. We do not enjoy eating there any more. The machines are well maintained. The bathrooms are always well stocked and clean. I think most casinos are packed with slot machines. Thats why we go there, to play the slots. The guards are friendly but not overly friendly. I really miss the monthly rewards post card. read more

My husband and I received flyers from this business about one week ago. First of all it was late. More importantly it said my husband and I were EACH getting $50 free play and $50 comps each week for the month of January. When we got there and checked our cards we were not getting those promotions. I went to the Player's Club and the employee pointed to the sign stating that there was an error in the printing and were not entitled to those promotions. I wrote to the casino and told them that they should honor what the flyers said but they said the same thing the employee said. It was a printing error and we were not getting those promotions. This is unacceptable and very poor PR. My husband and I have been going to Harrington since we moved here in 2006 but if that's the way they treat their members we might not ever go back. read more

Tight Machine and false advertising. What you should be doing is apologizing and compensating your patrons who drove to the casino today to use their free slot dollars per their flyer and to find out they didn't have any because it was a misprint! Management had plenty of time to during the month to send out a notice, but didn't so you let those of use who don't live close to drive 2 hours and have no free slot or food comps! So far this is my favorite casino along with Dover. I drive farther away to come to this casino because the staff and people are much friendlier. They have self-serving soda machines, it's non-smoking and the tables are 10$ minimum. It's a small casino but I had fun. First time I went I lost 300$. I'd enjoy my time here. They are saying they will bring back the poker room. So hope for the best. Plenty of parking. The food is just ok... I had pizza it wasn't that great. First time going to this casino. I frequent my local casino weekly. When I went up to the players club to get a new member players card the guy had an attitude. I heard the other employee asking everyone if they were new to the casino so when it was my turn I told the guy I needed a players card and had never been there before. He rolled his eyes at me. Like dang could you at least control your face. I didn't put you in a bad mood so don't take your bad day out on me. He should have extra training in customer service! If I could leave no stars I would. My husband sat and waited for assistance with a broken machine for 1 hour. Called the casino number and security tried to get help but failed . Finally he flagged down a worker to assist and she was miserable. Hesitant to give her name. Asked to speak to her boss he could have cared less. FIRST VISIT: (4 stars) I stopped at the casino to break up a trip while heading back home. Some of the games seem outdated but it looks like newer ones have been added. I am not a gambler but I like the slot machines and free games that first time visitor's can earn. The bathrooms are clean and well monitored. The security team has a nice presence. They circulate throughout the entire casino. Parking is much easier than Live! or MGM. They have free soft drinks (MGM charges $5 per soda). I didn't have to wait more than five minutes to get a casino card. The employees were kind and helpful. They introduced themselves and made me feel welcome. I won tickets to see a game show. I was happy to go alone but hubby was willing to take me. There is a buffet and several places where you can order sandwiches or have a snack. SECOND VISIT (Casino managers 3 stars & a hug, Theater/Team Erik 10 stars, Member services & cashout area 0 stars) Since we were attending "America's Greatest Game Show" hosted by Erik Estrada, (yes, Ponch) it was convenient to use the free casino credits. Otherwise I would not have driven more than 80 miles to play. My inner tween was happy to see "Ponch." I was excited about the show and wanted to have all the details (where to line up & when) since the casino web site & game show FB page didn't provide the answers. No one in member services knew. I was shocked since they have monthly concerts/events in the same building. Someone told me to, "follow the side walk. It should take you there." (which sidewalk?) Every employee should be able to tell a guest where to line up for a show. I decided to get creative and I asked a woman at the cash desk where to line up for the show. She asked her coworkers, who didn't know. The employee told me to enter through the buffet and gave complicated directions to reach the show. She was extremely frustrated at me for not understanding her. I decided to look for employees with suits and radios since surely they must know the layout of the property. A nice man in a suit didn't know, but he asked his boss to help me. She not only knew, she walked me to the casino entrance to show me where to go. If you ever attend a game show at The Harrington, enter through the white awning. If your back is to the casino entrance, the awning is very close, on your left. They have another entrance that is used for some of the concerts. The game shows (different entertainment each month) start letting in audience members one hour before start time. The theater seems old and the padded seats get uncomfortable after a while. If I ever attended another show, I would bring a seat pad. Small but fun! The exterior had absolutely NO indication that it was a casino. haha. It looked like a huge house! But the inside was pretty new.. with a friendly atmosphere. It was a bit far out of the city from us.. but we had a good time. If we're in the area again, I'd definitely come here. It is not that busy but it was starting to. Seems like everyone is so nice, the place is sort of like kept under control. haha. (Some Atlantic City casinos can be rough!) I overheard some people talking about the buffet with some good reviews. Perhaps that might be the next visit. The GPS might not know the exact location. You're better off staying on the main road, wait to see the harrington sign and then turn in. First time here. We are staying in Rehoboth and decided to day trip. Yes it's a bit remote but not terrible. We were new and did not understand the entry procedures. The security officers were very patient and courteous. We played slots and then went to the sports book to check it out. Great layout. Love this place and everyone is so nice. The only problem is there cashout machines have been down for a while now and they say that they will not be fixing them. So you have to stand in line to wait on the cashier which usually is only one because they are short on help. Those cashiers are really working hard and always pleasant but they need more money. Very very inappropriate behavior from one main employee. The employees hold machines for people at this casino... very weird shady stuff going on here. I've never seen casinos where this is allowed. Over hearing the person and employee talking how she thinks if she waits in between her playing about twenty mins it hits more bonuses. As far as casinos in the area go, Harrington is a bit further out of the way for me; Maryland Live and the new Horshoe Casino are closer as I live in MD. HOWEVER I PICK HARRINGTON OVER THESE TWO ANYTIME. No. They are not as nice looking. Harrington is far and out the way and seemingly in the middle of nowhere and I have to pay a toll to get there. BUT, I don't go to the casino to be impressed by aesthetics. I go to try my hand at winning. I've been to Harrington at least a dozen times and I have NEVER lost-EVER. It has been a guarantee for me to come w/a certain amount to spend and I have always always always at least doubled (in most cases tripled) my money; these machines pay out; new, old, it doesn't matter, you win. If I've ever left empty handed it's because I didn't know how to quit when I was ahead and trust me, that's only happened once. There are a couple of food options there; my guy likes BOLO's for their turkey and roast beef sandwiches and the deli for the hot dogs, but I usually nibble his food; I don't eat; it's decent however. If you want a casino that is full of thrills and pretentiousness, then this is not your place. If you want to hear some down home music (especially from the 90's when music was at it's best), play table games that don't break the bank and actually feel like a winner for a change, this is your place. I don't think people understand that the older machines are the ones that pay out. I put $30 in an older machine I had discovered while my guy was in line at BOLO's; and was just playing to kill time. Within five minutes, I was in a bonus round and walked away with over $200.000. I mean just that quick; this has happened more than once. The people are friendly, and you are not fighting over your machines. And there are machines that I know if I play will pay out, no matter what it seems. I LOVE IT HERE. It has the least bit of appeal, but the best payouts by far. The newer casinos closer to me payout when they feel like it. I've won big at Maryland Live and the payout was great..really great, but in actuality I came out even in the wash because of the amount I've wasted in there...LOL. This Cocino is the worst! They treat people of color like Shit!! I got sick from their food on 4th of July a few years ago they didn't care!! I have a picture of a fly frozen in an ice cube that was in my brothers drink not to mention that same night we were treated bad at the Cafe so we got up and left smh another incident was: The Guard at the door was carding only the black people so I asked him Was he only carding the black people he said Yes and laughed and kept doing it!! I told on him he got suspended I think. Than this is my last straw last night I went to play free play they sent me and they wanted me to Cover my nose I told the guy I have a medical condition he said he didn't care I need to cover my nose so I said no Ill leave than his manager yelled at me told me to covet my Nose!!! If I could give 0 stars then I would. The food was decent but I went to gamble on roulette. The dealer(Malenda was very rude and obnoxious, even asking where her tips were) She would consistently NOT let players take time to place their bets and would just spin the ball. Mind you I am betting $150 per spin. I tried to talk to the pit boss and he agreed with her. I asked him what happened to the customer being right? And he said if the minimum bets are on the table then she DOES NOT HAVE TO WAIT!! This is the first time I have ever been told this and to think I am the one spending/donating my $$$ to the casino. Players could not believe what they were hearing!! They eventually switched dealers but the next girl started doing the same thing!! I cant remember her name! The most we have seen locally Lots of security and it seemed like they needed it Witnessed a fight between a mid 40's woman and a mid 60's woman over a machine. The younger woman bullied the older woman and was ridiculous security was quick to respond and they did nothing about the unjust treatment of the older woman. This casino employs lazy floor supervisors such Valerie who constantly complains of being bored while on duty and sometimes intrudes into other players personal space, and in some instances harasses the players that she doesn't like. She would jumps into a private conversation between two players. What's worse is that Val allows her untrained dealers to apply table minimum rules arbitrarily. For example, when playing two hands on Ultimate Texas Holdem, some players where allowed to bet the table minimum of $5 and others were forced to bet twice the table minimum ($10, as opposed to $5). All this was done without regards to written rules until the Delaware State Lottery was contacted to force the casino to post the two hand rules and ensure they apply evenly across all players. This casino also has this shady rule on the Trips bet payout at the Ultimate Texas Holdem table. Unlike at all other casino in the USA and worldwide, this casino will not pay out the Trip bet if a player decides to fold her hand after she sees the river card. Again, they did not have written rule on this at the table. The Commission is being contacted to remove this uncommon practice by this casino all together. Again, once can contact Terry Perkins (Tel: (302) 362-5425 from the Delaware State Lottery if they want to file a petition or complaint to remove the Trip bet rule. Generally, unsuspecting victims, many of whom are older, fall under the trap and trickery of this casino. Ultimate Texas holdem players should go to Delaware Park, Maryland Live, Dover Downs, Maryland Live, Charles Town, which are much better venues with nicer people, good food and good atmosphere. If there was ever a time the quote "it is what it is" is needed, it's with this casino. Nothing fancy, nothing special pretty much a good little casino. I come for the Poker room, although its never busy. You can always get a seat quickly and there is usually 2 to 3 tables running at a time. The raceway reminds me of Laurel racetrack in Maryland where I made my first real bet ever way back in 1990. I live in Annapolis so its much closer than Atlantic City, plus I am saving gas and the crazy tolls. Oh yeah almost forgot they actually have an awesome buffet here believe or not. Its not much of a casino but it is closer than Atlantic City. They now offer a few table games and a not so busy poker room (2 maybe 3 tables open with 1-2 No Limit Hold em). If you are holding this up to the same standard you would a Las Vegas casino you will be disappointed. But if you go in expecting a smaller casino that is slots heavy you will be pleased. They have table games, a decent poker room, and a limited sports book that actually give them a slight leg up on their AC counter parts. The buffet was OK, a big selection with some decent items but you certainly wouldn't make a special trip for the food. Murphy's is the name of the Sports Book and the bar had good service and the TV set-up is ideal for sports viewing. You can only bet horses and NFL however so don't go thinking you can drop cash on a multitude of games. All in all I'll be back especially on a NFL Sunday as this is a decent place. read more
