It's fairly new or so it looks that way and inside the decor etc is very nice. They have little areas for reading, studying, computers, printers etc. However, please note that you will need a library card so if you don't have one get one. To make copies or print things off should you need to they charge a small fee which isn't much. They also have various functions here so be sure to ask the front desk.

In the front there are toys to play with on site, as well as to check out, in addition to the themed bins of toys and materials in the back on shelves. They are arranged generally by age range/skillset. There's also a selection of books, CDs, DVDs, etc on everything from activity ideas to baby sign language and pretty much anything in between. These are just the free resources. For a nominal yearly fee you can expand your access to other materials such as a Cricut machine, laminating machine, and a die cutter, for which they have a multitude of dies and cartridges to play with. Foam sheets and paper are available on the cheap for whatever you can come up with. For example, I saw a die for a child's size crown. Foam sheet crowns, anyone? AWESOME! It's an amazing resource for anybody with children, but I could see it being especially useful to home schoolers and teachers alike. This is one of three locations in Onslow County. I have not been to any of the others, but I like the feel of this one--quiet and laid back.

Since they have all sorts of activities for her, going to the library has now been a weekly event for us. They also have a coloring section, computers with games on them, and a little reading nook. I have had many encounters dealing with the women that work in that library being rude, one example is when I needed to re checkout a book since I only had a few more days to read it. The lady at the desk didn't say a word to me snaches my library card and then concludes by stating "next time do it online" however I was also there for the computers. So why should I not go a head and checkout the book? She could of explained kindly there was a way to do so online however again I was there for the computers. After I proceeded to the computers and began to print a new lady approaches me saying "you need to not use these computers again and use the ones downstairs. I will let you finish this time." in a malicious, superior tone. So I said "okay thank you for so kindly telling me that information!" I have never been so humiliated in my life! Rude! How dare anyone speak to anyone in such a manor! People need to realize that their words can impact someone's day. You never know how someone might be feeling and it's important to take that into consideration before you starting being rude. Think before you speak.
