I called in early July for a roof estimate for my mother's high-pitched roof. I was told I would be…read moregiven an estimate in approximately three weeks. I called to follow-up in August and was told they were not giving any estimates or signing any new contracts this year due to the cost of materials increasing and they can't possibly know what the costs will be next year. All roofing companies know the costs are increasing, they knew weeks earlier, they knew in July, they knew in June and then waited until it was too late to line up other estimates. This is an unfortunate way to do business. My frustration is absolutely not about an earlier contracted company that very professionally had to cancel all high pitched roofing contracts for loss of their key roofer, my disappointment with this company is that they canceled the estimate so close to the end of summer and then shockingly admonished me and treated me with unnecessary hostility when I expressed my disappointment. Tracy absolutely completed her berating of me with: "WELL I HOPE YOU LINED UP MORE THAN ONE ESTIMATE!!!" She was clearly too busy with her admonishments to remember she said that. Had she handled this with professionalism, much like the other company that had to cancel, I would have felt differently. However, Tracy has a cold and unprofessional demeanor and is hostile and quickly agitated. In hindsight I am glad they canceled the estimate. We don't need the roof done until next year and my 87 year old mother deserves a company that is customer service oriented and kind. The day after I called them and was met with such a condescending demeanor, I received an email that they would not be giving any more estimates this year. If you want a reliable company, or at the very least a company that is customer service oriented, this surely isn't the one. We are old time Alaskans and we expect better.

She respected my time frame and was efficient and clear in her quote. I accepted the quote, and they were already booked for the season, and so let me know I would be on the list for spring. I contacted them last week to ask for a timeframe for scheduling. I received a call on Thursday afternoon, and they scheduled me for today, Monday of the following week. The installers came out this morning and I now have brand new gutters. The person I talked to on the phone was very knowledgable. My husband had requested a hooded gutter, and the representative showed me what a screened gutter looked like. He told me that hooded gutters in an area with a heavy snowfall encourage ice dams and are easily damaged, and gutter screens work much better for our climate. The installer were polite. They rang the doorbell to let us know they had arrived, and began their work. At the end of the install, they rang the doorbell again to let me know that they were done and to collect payment.
