I am not here to talk about that, good it may be. I am here to talk about Diamond of the sandwich making section of the deli. Diamond is extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and a fantastic sandwich maker. She should get a raise. Well done, girl!

My first time shopping at this store and it left a bad taste in my mouth. As a former Publix…read moreemployee from Florida, standards are one of if not the most important things Publix is known for. My adventure started shortly after I walked in the door. I visited the deli counter looking to purchase some of my favorite Publix sweet ham. First I checked to make sure it was in the case, as I've been in stores that have been out. This wasn't the case. A whole unopened package was sitting there. The gentleman behind the counter asked what I would like, I told him, and he said let me make sure I have that and walked away. He then came back and said they were out of it. I pointed to the one in the case and he informed me that it was for display purposes only and would not be able to open it. . I assumed that meant they would just let that one sit there until it either went bad or they were able to open it once they got more in. My question then is how has the case been missing an entire package in other stores if that "one" can't be opened. I ended up purchasing the Tavern ham and moved on around the corner to get some fried chicken. That's where problem 2 happened. There were 2 boxes of wings and nothing else in the case. You might be thinking, well it's late at night and they were finishing up the night. Not so fast my friend. It was 5:15 on a Monday. Ended up purchasing one of the boxes of wings. Looked around and did find a refrigerated package and purchased that one. Not hot and ready, but it worked. Then came the happy ending. Went and checked out but forgot to check the receipt. Got to the truck and got it out and discovered that they had charged more for the wings than was listed on the box. Went back in to get the difference and the office cashier ended up refunding the whole thing since the price rang up wrong. While that did make the night better, it was just another thing that I would expect out of a Walmart, and not Publix. I know from reading the reviews that I'm not the first and probably won't be the last. Let's get things together and remember that this is Publix, where shopping is a pleasure.
