Such a beautiful place. There are multiple floors of designer shopping, cafes, a food hall, and some regular shopping. If you are in London you have to make a stop and even get yourself a souvenir. While visiting we decided to get lunch on the first floor. It was a little expensive but worth the experience. If you can't make up your mind on a souvenir by the way, there is one more location in Heathrow :)
Harrod's is a London icon and a premier luxury department store and it is a shoppers dream. This store is massive and its known for the fabulous food hall, extravagant luxury goods, and it attracts roughly 15 million visitors per year. Harrod's also features a afternoon tea in The Georgian and it costs about $96.00 US dollars per person. We were here many years ago but I still remember the experience. It was very busy inside and we walked around for a couple of hours just looking and taking in all the beautiful products that were for sale. The architecture of the store is a stunning. We bought some souvenirs, and I also bought a purse and wallet while visiting. We loved taking pics with the life size Harrod bears. I had never been in such a majestic and exquisite store seeing so many luxury items. This store is definitely geared towards the elite and uber rich but we still managed to have a really good time. Service was ample although most of the employees we encountered were very busy hustling to locate items for anxious shoppers. A must visit while you are in London, just don't drop all your cash here.
You feel like you are in a different world when you step inside Harrods. A luxury mall with a great food hall, a Prada cafe, they make their own chocolate in the chocolate hall, and every name brand you can think. Our first stop was the dry bar. We have plenty of these back in the states but I had never been to one before, so It's pretty exciting for to me to say that my first dry bar experience was in Harrods in London! I tend to stay away from blow-dry places because not everyone can blow-dry thick curly hair. Kezia was the stylist and she was great!! She was so funny, paid close attention to detail, and this was one of the best blow-drys I have ever gotten! Next, we stopped at Burberry. She was wonderful, poise, and so knowledgeable about the brand. My husband loves his wallet. We then stopped at Louis Vuitton for a perfume. No one attended to us and it felt like they were judging us based on how we looked. Five employees walked right past us and not a single one acknowledged us. Finally someone did and when we asked her what the notes in the perfume were she googled it on her phone. Our shopping day wasn't complete without buying some sweets from the chocolate hall. Every type of chocolate you can think of is sold here and delicious taste!
This is a very cool department store with many different brands, a restaurant, a cafe, and a candy hall! They even sell the Swiss chocolates from Laderach!
Tip: If you visit in December, check out the Christmas merchandise on the ground floor. I spent a good day at Harrods. I was here in December 2013. It was a treat seeing the Christmas section. It felt like a bonus! This store is London's largest department store with eight floors of shopping bliss. It has been a challenge trying to remember what was on each floor back then. Here goes nothing: Sixth floor: Perfume Fifth floor: Hair and beauty salon, and technology Fourth floor: Children's clothing, toys, denim Third floor: Home decor, furniture, bedding, and giftware Second floor: Menswear, men's shoes, and sports First floor: Womenswear, jewellery, women's shoes, and boutiques Ground floor: Foodhall, beauty, and watches Lower ground floor: Gourmet foods and wine I visited all eight floors. I spent the least amount of time on the sixth and second floors. I dabbled briefly in the technology section on the fifth floor. Most of time time was spent on the other floors. The Christmas merchandise was on the ground floor. It was amazing seeing chocolates, toys, candy, Santa, and more. The foodhall was incredible. The baked goods, sandwiches, mini cakes and chocolates looked in pristine condition behind the glass displays. I had lunch at the Montreux Jazz Cafe. I remember how cool the menu was. It was shaped as a record jutting out of an album sleeve. The music was chill and relaxed. I've been trying to figure out what I ate. I remember enjoying the shopping break. Sadly, this cafe no longer exists. It was created in 2012 in time for the London Olympics. The cafe endured for a few years before it closed for good. Prices are expensive at this high-end store. However, there was a sale on tea. I brought back roughly six boxes of tea. As a tea drinker, the tea varieties at this store were divine. I'd come back just for the tea. I'd also do afternoon tea here. I had no idea that I could indulge until after I had left London. Ugh! There are elevators and escalators to get you between floors. I remember the washrooms being close to the elevators, but I don't recall which floor. The women's washroom on whatever floor I was on was exceptionally fancy. There was a powder room that was separate from the washroom stalls and sink area. There were statues of Princess Diana and Dodi Al-Fayed dancing by the elevators on the lower ground floor when I was there. I just learned that this memorial was removed in 2018. The statues were returned to the Al-Fayed family. I recommend visiting this department store. It is indeed a ton of luxury items under one roof. I enjoyed it as a tourist and a shopper of fine tea. Harrods is every bit as chic and iconic as you'd expect. When I visited, they were in the process of getting ready for the holidays, and even during mid-setup, it was already beautiful. I can only imagine how magical it must look once everything is fully decorated! The store itself is massive and you could easily spend hours wandering through the different departments. Everything feels thoughtfully laid out despite the scale. The sales associates were friendly, approachable, and helpful without being pushy, which added to the experience. Harrods is a must visit while you're in London, whether you're there for shopping, dining in, or just soaking up the atmosphere.
Harrods is a well-known luxury department store in London, so my husband and I wanted to check it out. We went to Harrods on April 11, our third day (second full day) in London. The store is huge (in fact, we got lost trying to find a restaurant, which was a bit frustrating), that Harrods is almost a tourist attraction in its own right! We didn't have anything we needed to buy (and prices were expensive), but we splurged on a nice charcuterie board for £35 and various gifts for people, including a tea towel with the Westie dog embroidered on it for Nancy H. We briefly went back a couple of days later, on April 13, to buy lunch from the food hall, and to use the bathroom. So I been hearing of this famous store for a long time so I finally got to visit and walk through it and let me say I honestly was not impressed and if anything I wanted to walk fast and get out of very busy way There's an entire room of perfumes and colognes and omg it was STRONG. And it hits you hard and I was getting a headache within a min of being in there I don't know how they do it the employees lol But yeah it's basically a super high end shopping center filled with high end brands ...basically indoor mall meets department store and honestly I can't afford most of that but even if I could I probably would just go to a stand alone store vs this Oh... and apparently forget having to go to the bathroom my family were sent on a goose chase ended up outside ultimately I mean look if you love being around super expensive stuff and don't mind strong scents this is for you
Home to all the luxury/designer brands in all aspects of fashion. Anything from sunglasses, bags, makeup and even belts! Keep in mind things are expensive (even in the gift shop on lower ground level) but look at where you are. If you are new here ride those central escalators and fancy a look around. The representative was extremely nice when my partner was purchasing a suit however everyone else we came across was crusty.
Harrods a very high end department store in London. With wide range of products. Service was exemplary. Prices of their own products are reasonable and of good quality. They have all kinds of designer brands. I am very impressed with their store brand items especially the designs. Definitely a must go to as a tourist even if you don't have any intention of buying at all.
What an exquisite store and shopping experience! It's massive, so it's very easy to get lost. It has everything from clothes to restaurants to housewares and a gift shop. While it's geared for the uber rich, no one makes you feel like you cannot be there and shop. It was lovely. I bought several items from the gift shop that had friendly price points.
One of the most famous department stores in the world, you have to visit at least once I usually stop by every time I'm in London, now I don't usually buy much except the confectionery as this store is really for the wealthy uber rich! If you're into designer anything this is your place! Me - I just love the food hall!! Fancy chocolates,biscuits, all kinds of goodies Christmas time is usually beautifully decorated here and lots of lovely festive gift - but be warned super crowds, hard to get around the store it's jam packed full of people - not enjoyable at all!
It's honestly rare when I give a place two stars, but the amount of anxiety you feel coming into this store is unbelievable. I don't even know where to begin. Walking in you feel poor (even if you can afford to shop here, the employees want to make sure you feel like you can't.) You get lost. There's hundreds and hundreds of people. You feel overwhelmed. Selection? I'd say there's TOO MUCH selection. I couldn't even begin. If you want to shop here you'll need a time machine to add time to your day. I really wanted to go to the food hall, see photos below. The food was out of this world. I never thought I would see a smoked salmon cake?! That was really cool. But also expensive. I ended up just grabbing a salad and taking it to my hotel to enjoy.
Harrods is a high-end. We're talking about their prices too. This flagship store is located in the priciest neighbourhood in London, so it shouldn't be a surprise for most people. I wasn't too impressed with most of their food products as they weren't really truly British. I could hardly find anything made in England in their supermarket section, except for their in-store Sushi. "Harrods is the very few places in London where you can buy sushi in a prepackaged container", said an employee. Hmmmmm.. why would I want to buy sushi from a place called Harrods? Coffee, tea, chcolates, maybe, but sushi, no. I'll go to a real Japanese restaurant for that. I must say they have a huge area for coffee, tea, and chocolates. They even have a large produce, seafood, and meat section. Next door, it's their huge cosmetics area. Brilliant eh? NOT! Harrods is a department store that tells people how they should carry their backpack too. I couldn't wear it over my shoulders. I had to carry it with my hand like a shopping bag. Luckily, I wore my khaki pants and my oxford shirt, because I heard about the dress code. I passed the dress code. I went inside, and I spotted about a dozen people carrying their backpacks, so it wasn't just me. Silly, silly, rules. On a positive note, staff seemed pretty laid back and cool. Nice store, but way too expensive. It's worth a visit because it's London's most famous department store, that's about it. read more

It's the world's greatest department store. It's no lie. I love Harrods. I don't think I survive a month in London without at least browsing the store. My favorite thing to do is start at the top and work your way down. The sporting section stocks every Hunter boot you can image. Perfect souvenir when in London! Make sure to stop at the kid's level. Who cares if you are well over the age? The kids section is full of stuffed animals taller than most men, doll houses that would make any little girl swoon, and a candy section that would rot teeth for days. If you are a book lover, stop by the bookstore in the department store. Plenty of children's book that you may not be able to find anywhere else. Head to the Harrods Shop for the must-have London souvenirs. From tea towels to the Harrods Bear of the Year to phone cases, you cannot leave without taking something home. Don't forget Christmas as well! Grab the ornament of the year or out-furnish a new Christmas tree. On the same floor of the Harrods Shop, be sure to take your photo with the famous jumbo Harrods bears before heading to the ice cream parlour. It's an old fashioned ice cream parlour complete with fountain sodas! Try the macaroon sundae! If you are in the mood for tea, stop by the tea room on the same floor of the Harrods Shop. Get the champange tea! On the bottom level of Harrods, Coach, Longchamp, and the rest of the designers have their boutiques. One floor up is Dior, Louis, etc. The food hall is pure amazing. Make sure to check the prices. Somethings are the same as grocery stores. Go to Laduree. Get pastries. Eat some sushi. Get biscuits and tea to take home! I could keep going on. We popped in to grab a Louis Vuitton bag I've been searching for and found a magical place. The highest end luxury items imaginable then in the middle of it all a food hall, I assumed it was restaurants and cafe but think again! More like bakers, coffee roasters, chocolatiers, butchers and fishmongers. Amazing! I've been to the highest end stores in the states and never knew anything this cool existed! read more

Hugh store. Started in fine jewelry and then went to the food court. They have food galore. From steak to cavier. Unfortunately it was getting late for the grandkids. Haha Decided to leave and I'll return on Monday. I'll update at that time. read more

We were there for an afternoon snack and a few drinks. The service was impeccable and the truffled fries were too The beers were luke warm but they provided an ice bucket ;) I thought the prices of the menu items were overpriced but the portions were generous unlike other similar places ( say Harvey Nichols ). We enjoyed a lobster salad but decided to pass on the afternoon tea. Will be back for sure read more

We hopped on the Underground to go to Harrod's, an upmarket department store. This place was pretty amazing. We walked around a bit and of course made a point to seek out the Egyptian Escalator. read more

Since Harrods first opened its doors to the public in 1849 it has prided itself on serving the needs of the customer, provided of course that the customer is willing to cough up the cash. Within this multi-storey monolith once can find pretty much anything from food and groceries to electronic equipment, clothes, toys, entertainment systems, perfume, fine wines, gadgets and gizmos, pets and pretty much anythin else you can think of. The exuberant owner, Mohammed Al-Fayad, has wasted no expense in ensuring this is the premier shopping trip for the uber-wealthy. Personally I have only been to this consumer paradise on one occasion and was utterly blown away by what was on offer, unfortunately , being a student at this time meant that it was very much a window-shopping exercise in self-control. For the majority Harrods is simply an example of how the other half live, a place to come more as a matter of curiousity than a shopping trip. read more

Oh my god this place is crowded. But if you like food souvenirs and expensive food, wade through the tourists and check out the food hall. Like no other food court you've ever seen, it's richly decorated and has a plethora of offerings, including foie gras, truffles, waygu beef, beef pie, sausage rolls, chocolates, and yes, fish and chips. read more

There are a few places so resounding in our minds, they become reference points. Harrod's is such a place. Break out your best savoir faire British accent, and try to look like serious wealth. Multi-floor, multi-room department store. But unlike Barney's in the states, at Harrod's each room, each brand is sufficiently separated so as not to overwhelm. Like walking through a L'Officiel Hommes magazine. But better moneyed up. My dear Winston, hold my Richard Mille watch while I try on this £300 Alexander McQueen T-shirt. Harrod's food hall for lunch. Harrod's champagne bar for after coming to the realisation you've just charged on your Delta card enough to earn Sky Miles to fly you around the world 7 times. Harrods is now one of my favoritest places in the world....even if you don't buy anything! It's just an amazing place (disclaimer: I love shopping). You could spend HOURS looking at everything. They have everything from designer clothes, to a pet spa, to a charcuterie, to a gelato bar. Highlights: *An entire section dedicated to Louboutins on sale (and others not on sale) *The ground floor has several places to eat: a rotisserie, pizza station, espresso cafe, caviar bar... all are pretty pricey (maybe 15-25GBP/dish). and theres a gelato bar, but if you get it to go you have to eat it outside. *The 4th floor has electronics, including spy wear. *The wine cellar is amazing...if you like to look at wine. Yes, it's usually expensive, but definitely worth a visit and there are unique items you can't get anywhere else! read more

A wonderfull store that offers anything when it comes to luxury items. The finest foods, drinks and delicacies but also clothing, perfumes, watches and much much much more. Take at least half a day to see the entire store since it's huge! So much to see, smell and taste. I gave it 3 stars because the personel doesn't seem very interested to help you out if you don't have a middle-eastern apearance. Also I think the store really isn't easy to navigate. A must see when you come to London! read more

This is the type of place you could tour for a couple days and see something new each time. Our stay in London was limited so we checked out the main floor and the gift shop area. This is definitely an upscale shopping experience with a lot of designer shopping to offer. I saw part of a review where someone referred to Harrods as an upscale Macy's. I would agree with that statement (with an emphasis on upscale designers) and add that it's also on steroids due to the size of the building. Overall, a nice place, just get ready to spend some pounds. read more

As a tourist destination, I really can't give this place less than five stars. For all out, over-the-top consumerism, there really is nothing that comes close to Harrods. Be sure to go down to the basement and see the shrine to Dodi and Di, complete with the unwashed champagne flutes and the diamond ring that Dodi was about to propose marriage with (according to his father, the owner of Harrods). Also, the hosiery department is pretty amazing in and of itself. I bought a pair of Pucci tights here. Did you know Pucci even makes tights? I didn't like I said, for everything over the top, Harrods is the spot. Also, the window dressings are amazing. I must find the photo I took during the holiday season in 2004. read more

Oh Harrods! You definitely lived up to the expectations and hype :) Harrods is everything and more! Beautiful store from top to bottom. Friendly workers, gorgeous products, stunning displays, delicious goodies and a beautiful Diana & Dodi Memorial. Be warned, speaking as a tourist, this is definitely a tourist magnet! We visited here about three times during our eight days in the UK and it was packed each and every day! Though the despite the high traffic of people filing in and out, the store stays remarkably tidy! I don't know how they do it, but it really was neat and organized! The store is stunning and magnificent from the exterior, just a preview of what lays inside. We remained primarily on the ground level which is home to my favorite part of Harrods, The Food Halls :) The yummy, scrumptious, tempting food halls! With a variety of fresh fruits, gourmet chocolates, coffees & teas, pre-made food for takeaway, charcuterie, breads, cakes & cupcakes, small cafes/restaurants, cookies & biscuits, jams, honeys and even a flower shop! I could come here everyday for months just to sample the diverse selection of treats! The lower ground level houses their men's collections, wine shop and a delicious Italian restaurant dei Frescobaldi (review to follow). The ground level houses accessories (purses, etc), The Food Hall, fine jewelry and watches. The second floor houses home wares, a bookshop and their Harrods Gift Shop. A great gift shop set up with tourists in mind! Unlike the rest of the very high end, luxury priced store the Harrods Gift Shop offers a great selection of treats, souvenirs and Harrods branded merchandise at far more reasonable prices. The third floor houses toys and tech while the fourth floor houses kids, pets and Disney @ Harrods. An adorable setting with a small cafe and Disney merchandise. The set up is so adorable and so very Disney! We didn't venture to the fifth floor, but I believe that houses the their Personal Shoppers. The store is stunning and a definite must see when visiting! This is the flagship store with the most expensive stuff money can buy! But also a tourist trap! I don't come here to shop but mostly browse thru the 1st floor for their food and tea read more
