So far: - Placed on over 20 "Residency Holds". - Violently accosted by security for giving a homeless man a sandwich across the street from the college building. - Student ID forcibly taken by security claiming I don't "belong" there because I gave a homeless man a sandwich off campus. - Blocked from taking the placement test. - Revoked student login (numerous times). - "Frozen" student account. - Refusal of some staff to communicate via any other method than student email. - Appointments are ignored. - Higher staff have an unofficial policy of delegating appointments to others staff that aren't aware of appointments. - Staff forward problems to other staff in a never ending circle of delegation. - Spam auto-replies from emails. - Student Access Centers refuses to assist; tells me "it's not their problem". - A Dean removed/unapplied my FAFSA during my class selection. - Staff play phone/email tag way past the normative 3 business day open communication period. - Staff refuse to commit to action or develop a plan of action. - Staff gaslight, saying they've helped but refuse to communicate how they've helped and turn aggressive when asked repeatedly how they've assisted in any way. - Because these issues keep stacking the staff seem to find it easier to group up and deny everything. - I've been told I've been unofficially flagged on a message board as "persona non grata" and that I'm seen as a "problematic complainer" because I persist in trying to find out why problems keep occurring and "refuse to let incidents go". I've been told they don't want "poor people that won't pay their bills" to attend Truman, and that my giving a homeless man a sandwich earlier meant I fit that profile and that I don't "belong" there. Apparently I've also been called a "snitch". - I give them time to grow and improve and try again; the cycle starts all over. read more

I found out that Truman City College is not real along with all the other city colleges. It's basically a scam to steal students money, none of the credits from any of the seven city colleges would be transferable to any real four year university. Attending this school or any of the seven city colleges would be a complete waste of time and Spell grant funding. read more

Can you just say that Truman College is pretty big for a city college. Many buildings that attach. I came in to work the flu clinic for the season and although Covid-19 changed the numbers as in years passed, it is still a good thing for the public. I wish though more people would of come in for this free service that the city offers. Every year when you get your fly shot you actually help yourself not get a higher straign. But I'm not here to change anyone's perspective on the flu vaccine, but I do believe others should use this free service more often. Its awesome that the city colleges are able to do this and allow us to be part of it. So as far as the campus, im.impressed and its a very clean and nicely kept college. read more

I love this place. Never had any problems with anything. Registration was easy as well as registering for classes. My student advisor Grisel Sanabria is honestly the Best! She helped me in a lot of ways and I could not appreciate it enough. All the stuff was always friendly and helpful whenever I came in. They offer internships, grants and past semester they lowered their tuition. You can attend classes in person or online. And English as a second language is available as well. They also help you transfer to a four year institution and have events and stuff for that, as well as list of colleges they work with. Teachers and educated, helpful and attentive (I'm sure not all of course, but I am speaking purely from my own experience). I've been there for a year so far and very satisfied with my experience. read more

I taught for City Colleges of Chicago for nearly ten years. I was at Truman College. I taught for several years - no problem until Ms. Maria Ochoa was hired as an Adult Education Manager. Then the corruption and her nefarious and devious spying began... I was teaching an ESL Level 1 Hybrid course on Saturday mornings... I assigned a simple picture book in my classroom - a book that I had used for numerous semesters - a book that I discovered in the Truman College Library. One student did not like the book and complained. Instead of supporting me - Ms. Ochoa emboldened her students and turned them against me - the Instructor. Under the direction of Dr. Lee Jackson - Ms. Ochoa exchanged her personal cell number with one of my students and attempted to spy on my classroom activities and procedures. She also developed personal relations with my students - relations that crossed the line. I discovered this after a couple of weeks and informed the Labor Union. Ms. Ochoa was reprimanded and confronted about her unethical and immoral actions - her response was "I am still learning." As a result, she was transferred to another City College Campus. I urge all instructors and professors at Truman, Wilbur Wright and Humboldt Campuses to avoid her... do not allow her to observe you in the classroom... either formally or informally (feel free to cite this review). Do not even allow her to enter your classroom... Time and time again her actions have proven to be unethical, unprincipled and immoral. She also has a history of gaslighting Instructors and abuse of power. Ms. Ochoa also wrote me up for instructing the students to use You Tube to practice the English alphabet - she did not know that YouTube is allowed and is even in the Bright Space course shells...(placed there by fellow ESL instructors) - YouTube links are part of the ESL curriculum - she did not know the curriculum - nor had any interest in learning the curriculum. She has absolutely no business being an administrator. She lacks any moral character and conviction and cannot be trusted. I hope she has learned her lesson - I hope she is not continuing her nefarious and devious behavior at the Humboldt campus. I urge all instructors to stay away from her - as well as Dr. Lee. read more

I think the three words of "Chicago City College" explains it enough. What comes to mind right off the batt is exactly what you get. Basically a shady high school without the lockers (and "Blood Alley" being directly in front of the entrance doesn't help any). The majority of the employees who hoard the Registrars, Payment, and Advising offices are super rude and not helpful one bit. (I don't think it's just the pay that makes them this way if you know what I mean...). You will continually be going in circles. As for the teachers, they're mediocre. I could go on and on about the Associates in Nursing program... The important thing to know about the application process is the first time you apply you automatically won't get in. Even though the program has basically four prerequisites (English, Mathematics, Biology 101 and Chemistry Calculations) they want you to take as many courses at Truman in the scientific field to make more money off you (organic chemistry, anatomy/physiology, nutrition, medical terminology, to name a few). It does not matter what experience or prior education you bring to the decision process. The program itself is adequate according to those who have taken it, however, it is known that the grand majority of the students who finish the program do not pass the HESI the first or even second time. FINAL WORDS OF WISDOM: Only if you're looking for reasonably priced prerequisites to transfer elsewhere for a Bachelors or Masters degree would you dare to go here. To put everything in perspective: "Graduation Rate: 7%; Retention Rate: 44%; Transfer Rate: 42%" (FAFSA website). Said! read more

This school is amazing! I wish I knew about this school when I was living in the suburbs. Went to Moraine Valley and hated it... All the teachers at Truman truly care about their students and they're passionate about what they do. I've not once seen a teacher come to work with a frown or with a bad attitude. The staff is extremely resourceful. The deans are also super cool and down to earth. Everyone here acts like they're part of a family. If you live in the suburbs, its worth it to pay out of district and make the trip up to the city to attend Truman. Its worth it. Not all community colleges are the same. read more

This college is part of the city colleges of Chicago. It is a junior college and a good one at that. They offer all the same classes as Wright College or other junior colleges. The neighboorhood is ever-changing and can sometimes get hairy. After coming back from Northern Ill. Univ. after one year I went here to take more classes and got a Associate degrree from this school. Then I proceeded to finish up my studies at Northeastern Ill. Univ on the NW side. read more

Two things that frustrate me about Truman College is that the Library employees have no backbone! Students come in and make all types of noises, and nothings enforced. When I come in here to do work, I always think to myself "Is this a library or not?". From my knowledge libraries are supposed to be quiet, with no loud giggles, humming, chatter, or singing your favorite song. Nothing is enforced, and I've seen a student get kicked out, because he confronted a loud student. Pretty foul huh? But that is how the system works. The only libraries I've been in on CCC campuses, that enforce the quiet rule are Harold Washington, and Kennedy King. My other frustration is the writing lab is totally unorganized. Walk ins normally get the short end of the stick, and they will leave you waiting if you don't remind them. If you set a appointment, make sure you follow up on it, because they will have you all mixed up. Other than these two things the other things are fine at this campus. read more

I went to Truman for 5 years and graduated from the Nursing Program in 2007. Yes the staff there are pretty rude for the most part and I always went home on registration day with a migraine. But remember guys....you get what you pay for. If you want staff who's nice all time and a pretty classroom, then go to Columbia or Loyola. This is a community college and as most community colleges you get an interesting mix of students: teens who had trouble in the regular high schools, adults who are going for that second career and people from other countries. Most students who attend classes are mature and are more focused than at your traditional university with straight out of high school students who's parents made them go to school. The students who go to Truman are there to learn and move on. Anywho, classes are very cheap and the nursing program is a bargain. Now the nursing program....very very difficult program to get through. BUT once you do, you are almost guaranteed to pass NCLEX. (unlike most universities). I did have a little trouble with some of the instructors regarding the race issue. I NEVER use the race card, but I was treated differently during clinicals due to my race. I was actually verbally insulted by two of the instructors during that stressful period (B**ch actually made me cry during a clinical) but whatever. I went there, sucked it up and now I have a great career....and the best part, I owe only $5000 in student loans. Give Tru a chance...it'll save loads of $$. read more

I wouldn't go to this school if I didn't have too. Right now I am at Wright, which is much better. The only thing that saves it from getting one star is my Child Development II teacher, Professor Muirhead. She is a godsend. The parking lot is like some kind of medieval torture system for your car, dare ye park there. The actual school itself feels like a giant prison- it is so confusing which seems impossible since it is just a big 3 story square. AND Professor Siddiqui is the WORST TEACHER possibly ever. He is a nice guy, but should not be teaching future nurses and such. If you ride your bike, beware the men who will stare at you the entire time you are locking it up and may try to converse with you, in not such a gentlemanly way. The neighborhood is "coming up" but it's got a looooooooooong way to go. Do not wear valuables. Oh, and no hot guys go here. read more

I echo the sentiments of many other Yelpers/Truman students -- the staff (not the professors, but the office staff) are generally rude and seem pretty incompetent. Most visits to the offices will take entirely too much time and energy, being sent from office to office where it seems almost no one knows how to help you... There also are pan-handlers and other less than desirable characters lurking outside, especially around the famed Wilson Red Line stop. But... there are certainly a few gems at Truman College, and for the affordability and accessibility, it's worth it to check it out if you're interested in the City Colleges. There are a wide range of classes offered, and if you are attending through the Center for Distance Learning (I take usually 3 out of 4 classes online), this range extends to classes offered to students at ANY of the City Colleges. The majority of my CDL classes have been based at Kennedy-King or Wright College... The classes I have consistently taken in-person are B&W Photography with Jeane McGrail, and currently, Math 99 (I'm no good at math...) with prof. Ahamed. For the most part, I enjoy going to school at Truman, and no-doubt it helps that I only live a block and a half east. It's not Harvard University, but you can get your prerequisites out of the way for a better price, and enjoy meeting and learning with students of a variety of ethnic and social backgrounds. I took a few classes here over the winter 2012 and I must say this is the most unprofessional, rude, ignorant, college I have ever attended. I am a transfer student and wanted to get a few classes done for half the price, but you get what you pay for. The office staff are so disgusting and short with students when hello! your job is to HELP us with questions. The wait time to see an advisor is ridiculous, you might as well cancel your whole day because you will be waiting close to 2-3 hours. If you make an appointment to see an advisor they are always about 15-20mins late/behind. Some of the professors here are the only saving grave for this place. They truly care about teaching and helping students. Other than that this place is a dump and it is in a horrible area. Always shootings and shady people walking around the campus. Overall i don't recommend this college to anyone who actually wants to learn. If you have to take classes here look up your professor before on rate my professor and avoid lingering on campus. read more

I attended Truman College for two years as a non-traditional student. I was heavily involved in campus activities, worked on campus and tried to keep a hefty amount of college credits, if possible. What I am getting at is that I was there at least 40 hours a week and the President and some of the Deans knew my name. Let me start with the bad news! 1. Shootings are common in the area. 2. There are a lot of rumors about how Truman works it's finances and it directly effects nearly every student negatively. 3. The administrative office staff don't really understand the concept of streamlining any process. They might seem incompetent at times, especially in regards to your financial matters (see two). 4. The school is old and some of the students treat it like crap and it just kind of gives you the impression of a prison. Truman is like a sour patch kid. Sour on the outside but sweet on the inside. Most of the professors I have encountered enjoy teaching just to teach. If you show initiative, they will look out for you and encourage you. Personally, I was able to find myself a wonderful mentor. Truman provided me with my first research experience in the biology lab, gave me an award, gave me opportunities to become a leader and work in my community. Truman opened a lot of doors for me including transferring to my top 4 year university on nearly a full scholarship. (2k a year for a 50k a year school!) City Colleges are maybe going a little overboard with the amount of (usually mediocre) programs they have available for students to join and workshops to go to. But, I suppose it's better than nothing? So yes, there are a handful of not-so-amazing things at Truman... but it was ok! It was the stepping stone I needed, it did it's duty. read more

Unlike most people, I don't receive any financial aid. I pay for school out of MY pocket (and yes, I go full time). There is still one more payment that goes through, yet they still put a damn hold on my account. That's ridiculous. Come up with a better payment plan or stop putting holds! And again. Ritch Keitel. Truman is my stepping stone to Loyola (fingers crossed) and I think because I know that it is a temporary stop on my university trek, I tend to be a bit more patient with it. The location is super-shady and I won't take night classes because I don't want to be in that neighborhood after dark. Hell, my pepper spray is in my hand when I walk to the train during the day there. Most of the student body seems to be serious but there do seem to be a number of gangbangers there that seem to only be there to either 1) get financial aid kickbacks 2) "holla" at the "hunnies" in the hall, no matter if class is in session or not. I had a couple of shady characters in some of my lower-level classes, people who would listen to their iPods the whole time or never buy their books. What's the point?? Most of my profs were awesome. Ritch Keitel, my Chorus teacher, is flippin' AH-MAZING. Dr. Close, my English 101 prof, was very entertaining and a great teacher. I'm taking her for 102 next year. Prof A's Lit Class was tough but fun. I hated the fact that I had to waste three credit hours taking a stupid-meta "College Success" class, especially since I'm freaking 30. I don't need someone to tell me how to manage my time. My only super downside was my math teacher, Mr. Byrne. I think it's time for him to retire. He couldn't keep control of the class and his grading is spotty. All in all, it's a place to get in and get out with your AA in a cheap way. read more

I can't stand Truman because they lack good quality professors (not all since I haven't taking all the classes), the restrooms are constantly filthy, the environment is not up to par, some of the staff don't give a hoots about safety and concerns if you ask me. I voice my concerns about lack of teaching from these two "professors" and I felt like I was a target after that. I don't care because it's about my education. I don't know what else to say but good luck to all who plan on attending this school, but I'm outta there. Way better than UIC, I went here for a semester and had a good all around the experience. The teachers are cool and seem to give a damn which is often a problem at some places, the students are serious too. It's not too easy, not too hard. Price is good as well. I base my review on its academics and professors, not its administrative staff, which I have heard is just as bad at any other City Colleges of Chicago. I decided to go to Truman because of 2 reasons. 1. I wanted to be sure that Secondary Education is what I wanted to do. 2. I didn't want to go to Northeastern because of my experience with some HS/elementary school teachers that call this their alma mater. (most of the teachers in the Chicago Public School system come from this school.. some good...some sucked) When I got here, I took a few courses to get me started and I still was confused at what I wanted to do. I then went to see a counselor and took a course called Counseling 101 and quickly learned that I no longer aspired to become a teacher, but try to go into social work (which I decided against at DePaul) or Social Science. I got my AA in 3 years (yeah I know, 1 year longer than normal) but the staff is great here. I actually left with a 3.6 GPA and I enjoyed my experience. If you aspire to go further after you get your AA degree, try the Truman/DePaul bridge program, VERY good program. Also, take a theater class and check out the Pegasus Players perform too, great team. read more

Came here for a couple years to get an associates before going to complete my BA elsewhere to save money. The price is right, the neighborhood isn't THAT bad, and yes the office staff isn't really helpful and seem to always have a bad attitude. I will say that if you are mildly prepared it really helps expedite things alot, and the financial aid office will be nice to you if you are extra nice to them. I'm taking continuing ed classes in web and graphic design at Truman and I have had a great experience so far. Before I started i was not sure what to expect and have been surprised at the level of education I am receiving. My instructors are well qualified, easy to approach, and make the classes fun. I also was very satisfied with the tuition. I looked into a few different programs and felt like this one really met my needs. Registration and billing is done through the continuing ed office and everyone i have spoken with is very helpful and pleasant. I already have a bachelors and some basic experience with design and didn't feel it was necessary to spend 2 or 3 years and $20k on a different program. I would definitely recommend the program to others. read more

I think A-OK acurtely discribes Truman College. The main building feels like a glorified high school. Not too different from where I went to school in the Cleveland suburbs. That being said I didn't expect much when signing up for continuing education classes. I'm lucky I only have to go to Truman one or twice a week. The instructors for continuing ed are good. They are professionals in there respective fields looking to make some extra money. I'm glad that Truman is close by so I can take advantage of improving myself by taking classes. Overall, my experience with Truman College was actually quite good. All of my professors were good as well. I learned many usefull and stimulating things in the breif time that I was a student there. There is a delightful mix of age, class, and ethnicity amongst the students. Which makes Truman College a very good starting point for a non-traditional student. I only attended Truman for two semesters because I needed to transfer to a proper music program. The most irritating thing about Truman College is the financial aid office! Not only are several of the people who work there, arrogant and condescending (not all of them, but too many of them nonetheless), but Truman doesn't offer student loans. Though Truman is inexpensive enough for most students to get by without student loans, but the absence of the option for a student loan is tiresome. All in all, I am glad that I went to Truman College, but it is not above criticism. Though it has little to no snob appeal, truman is a very good starting point for a non-traditional student. read more

Truman isn't perfect. But I've read these reviews and there are some distortions - especially with regard to safety. Yes there have been shootings but NOT on campus. They occur in the neighborhood. They occur all over Chicago. I've been at Truman for over 30 years, I've taught in the evenings for many of those years. I've walked all over the campus and around the neighborhood. My own children attend the college. I feel as safe at Truman as I feel anywhere else in the city. We have an excellent security staff and there have been increases in police patrolling too. Also, cosmetically yes the main building is old but many of the classrooms have been recently renovated. I teach chemistry in a very modern classroom. We have more analytical instruments than many four year colleges: GCMS, NMR, HPLC, AA - these will mean something to you if you've ever been around a chemistry laboratory. And we have awesome professors - students learn in small classrooms and receive a lot of individual attention. I urge you to visit the campus. Talk to the professors. Meet people who work there - and decide for yourself. Truman is like a hidden jewel. read more

Amir is the guy in charge of the front desk, he is a polite guy and is always ready to help you. The tutors are awesome and friendly, every time that I have gone Amir and tutors have been very friendly and the most important: I have learned something. I think 2 reviews are in order for a college. I agree the staff is difficult to work with. I remember asking about the next semester course schedule at the admissions office. The woman behind the counter looked as if I asked her how to cure a chicken foot. I won't go into the strained exchange but let's say I left really irritated. I'm asking them for information about the courses and they just couldn't be bothered. I don't know if the registration has changed any but that's a miserable process as well. I learned to kind of roll with it and I expect some hardship. Now I went to Truman for a 2 reasons: the first to take French ( My French teacher very dedicated - a true class act), then later to fill in some courses I missed to get into grad school. For the cost of this school, I expected to maligned, frankly. I don't think the course work is all that challenging, so if you looking to learn, do it on your own. If you need credits on paper, you can't go wrong at Truman. read more

I'm finally stepping out there and writing about my home base, truman. First, let me say, I have been a student here for 3 years. when i'm done with what i need to do, it will be 4 years. This being because I am a current nursing student. Pre-reqs, 1 1/2 years. the program, 2 years. I graduate in may with my RN, and then i'm taking classes for my bachelor completion program at loyola. why pay loyola prices when you can take the classes for 1/10th of the cost at truman? coming here was a culture shock to put it gently. however, i gained the wonderful thing i call, "realistic perspective." being - this is a community college. the students are blends of everything, which is one of the things i love about it. you have fresh high school graduates, people who already have bachelors looking to change careers, moms, dads, full time employees, and older students just looking to stay sharp. Yes, you will be bounced around to get what you need done. which is why you go in expecting that. you bring a crossword or book, you sit back and relax until your number/name is called. once you become a seasoned veteran like myself, you know the routine, and registration/payment/anything is a snap. Also, the staff. I also took time learning this, but i'm glad i did because not many people have. the classic saying, "you get more flies with honey than vinegar." If you walk up to the counter with an attitude, or pissy-ness, or the "my time is soooo much more valuable than this and you are just an hourly wage employee," then yes, you will receive service as such. However, just observing, many students come in here like this, and if i had to deal with that all day long, i too would be irritable. I have had excellent customer service, because i come in, smile, ask how their day is going, and get to the point of what i need. The teachers - many in my studies were doctors, and teachers who also taught at UIC and other universities. That, i am very happy with. the quality was there. some other classes that are "fluffier" as i like to call them - lit, history, etc... yes, some students will annoy you and the curriculum seems to be quite accommodating to learners newer to the field. for the nursing program - and i can speak because I am actually IN the program - our passing rates are high for the nclex. it was 100% for many years, and last year it was 98%. still, in my book, quite satisfactory. they test you in more ways than one with patience and understanding, but, thats how the field is going to be. they have never done anything sly or shady towards anyone that i know of or about, and yes, it is super competitive, so get ready! get As and Bs, mostly As, in the pre-reqs, and stay on your game. also, the structure is changing quite a bit since all CCC nursing programs are becoming City colleges of chicago nursing academy. pre-reqs, competitiveness, even campus and program layout are changing, so learn the new guidelines. read more

First day of school was bitter sweet. I really liked my professor , so I'm happy about that. The bitter part about my experience was one of the staff members. The person taking pictures for the ID is not at all qualified to have his position, if you can't handle the frequent question or busy day then get out, he treated everyone as if they were stupid. All questions were either ignored or responded with a loud obnoxious remark. His attitude toward the student body was plain RUDE. I witness people walk away as he was loudly responding to students that had questions. He acted as if he didn't want to be there not deal with the people around him. read more

horrible school. the only good things i can say about truman are that it's cheap and easy to get to for the north siders. so, if you don't mind tripping over cracked-out bums outside on the way to class, spending time is an outdated, run-down building, dealing with an incompetent (and rude) admissions department, and having to use absolutely filthy bathrooms...then truman is your school. (and i'm not kidding you, the bathrooms just might be the worst in the city. i've seen cleaner ones at gas stations.) the teachers are hit and miss. i had two who were actually enthusiastic about the subject matter and were willing to help students outside of class. the rest basically didn't give a crap. one biology professor in particular was downright mean. oh, almost forgot: their "security" consists of a few geezers positioned at a some podiums by the doors. not quite sure how effective they would be at intervening in an emergency situation. one year at this fine institution was about all i could handle. never again! read more

Truman, you have a policy posted all over the walls and doors stating that anyone that enters the doors of this school agree to be recorded and filmed for promotional purposes. I am a paying student and I do not give my consent and just because you post some crap on the walls like that doesn't cover you legally and I will hold you liable if you use my information, including film of me, pictures of me, my name, or any other identifiable information without my express written consent, I will hold you personally liable and will take legal action. You are lucky you get three stars still with this garbage! read more

Avoid at all cost!, horrible place, terrible neighborhood, staff in ALL areas of these place are rude and condescending toward everybody. People at the registrar's office are beyond rude. You may be the ONLY person standing there, but they will refuse to help you until you sign the "sign up" sheet. After signing you get a" sigh, so what do you need?" which sounds more like, "you better have something important because I did not get of my chair for nothing", and don't you daaare to have a big prooblem then you get a "you will need to go to another office 2nd floor bla bla bla", in which office you are going to get a "oh no, we can't help you with that, you need office 1112, which is on the 1st floor blablabla" and then yes, you get there and they send you to anoooother office. Maybe 2 to 3 hours later, after going from office to office, you MIGHT be able to "fix" the issue. And oooh no wait, you are trying to register online? aah then you are in for another treat, which will last until the END OF TIME, your account showing a "hold" for things that have nothing to do with you, you might get magically dropped of a class or you might even register for a class that is NOT showing in their system. You account may show that you owe money that you already paid SEMESTERS ago ooooh and soooo on. BUt wait you might think this is only my issues here, oh no no, this is happening constantly, every single day, every single semester, with most students (if not All), do some more research, ask around. And the building, yes, now has parking lot available, which is a plus, but a plus after 2 years of having to park by the lake and/or in random streets in a very very scary neighborhood, it was expected of them to have at least that. The building itself and the classrooms, are dark and depressing. They have the feeling of a hail house. Windows are ALL covered, no natural light AT ALL. Some (very few) teachers are too good to be teaching there, and some (or most) seem to be there because no-one else would hire them. Some teachers have the HEAVIEST accent ever! and if you are trying to learn, chemistry, biology, or any class that has a very specific vocabulary, FORGET IT, learning is going to be a traumatizing experience! goood luck with that! read more

If I could leave no stars I would. Horrible facility every time I went they all were extremely rude, unhelpful, and unclear. I would never recommend this college to any student even if they could go for free. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

I've had good experiences at Truman. The faculty are great. One suggestion is to register early to avoid having to wait to see an advisor and to make sure you get the classes you want! read more

I transferred to Truman from another community college out of state as I was unsure of what to do with my life, and figured what better way to waste some time then take some classes and try and figure it out. I have always really loved school, this was supposed to be my 'junior' year of college, and basically just a time waster until I got my bearings and figured things out. I went a semester and for the first time in my life, dropped out of school. The teachers I had, save for one, were not great at all. I had no drive or passion to come to school, I felt like I was wasting time, and the students were even worse than the teachers themselves. The graduation rate from this school is low, and that's because it seems to me, no one wants to be there. Out of the five classes I initially started, I ended up dropping down to three. I live only a block away and I rarely could bring myself to go to class. The building is terrible, the location is terrible, and overall, my experience was terrible. And some of the teachers I had were the more 'acclaimed' ones that taught there. The office staff were rude to me on all encounters I had, and very unhelpful. Needless to say, I'm glad to be out of here and look forward to going to a real college in the fall. read more
