Yesterday, I held my son's celebration of life there, and I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect: the venue, the staff, and the overall experience. Although I live in Dover, DE, I was more than willing to make the trip because I knew how special the place was and felt it would be the perfect setting for such an important occasion. The kitchen staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The event space was clean, peaceful, and just right for the day. We felt safe and cared for, and the beautiful grounds added a sense of serenity that meant so much to us. While I don't drink and can't speak much about bartending, I have to say, our bartender may have been the best ever. Unlike other wedding venues, Curtis isn't really a client-facing organization. It is run by Cheltenham Township, and used primarily for township events and meetings, not weddings. So you shouldn't expect the customer service experience that you might be used to elsewhere while wedding shopping. That's what the review below is likely referring to. Personally, my wife and I found the pampering treatment annoying and were able to save a lot of money by using vendors who don't do the whole over the top wedding thing.
