this was a VERY harsh reality! at first..when tou walk into the facility, you think..ok, not so…read morebad. i think its just a false idea of what the rest of the place looks like. at the entrance, it smells like lysol and seems to appear clean. we checked in (where it took so long).."up to the third floor" they said. we entered the third floor, and we smelt nothing but urine and feces. the nurses could give absolutely 2 shits about anyone there. it seemed to be the social workers lock themselves in an office, in which THEY dont even want to come out. we sat and waited in the area with the desk in the middle, which was falling apart and literally rhe paint was coming off the walls (which from the smell of everything, prob did that!) The Patients couldnt of been in worst shape...people with missing limbs and have compketely lost their minds. there was no support or love or anything for that matter from ANY of the staff. i have never been so horrified in my life (worse that the WORST horror movie you ever saw). i know this is a state line facility and i shouldn't have anticipated much, but wow! is this really how our country takes care of us at the end?! the place is so bad, i would say people in prison are getting a better deal or maybe even a dog kennel. i wouldnt even bring my dog there to WALK AROUND! it really makes you think about the things you want for your loved ones as they reach a ceartin point. its a VERY harsh reality. so people...work hard!, take care of yoir loved ones...MAKE SURE THEY NEVER END UP HERE!!!! ITS HELL ON EARTH!

Physical therapy was adequate, according to my friend, a rehab patient. But. Run down building and property. Poor outside lighting in a parking lot. Poorly furnished rooms, with torn chairs and next to no furniture. Terrible bedding. Cafeteria like dining room with institutional type food. No bathroom in the room; only a toilet and sink with a curtain to pull for privacy. My friend recovering my serious surgery, was not helped to shower for the first two weeks he was there. No shower for two weeks! I would never recommend this facility to anyone.

God, please don't let this be a bad experience for our mother, and we pray that you will take control of the process going forward. We know how difficult it is to find care in these type of facilities, but we pray that this is 1 that we can say is what we believed it to be upon her admission.... We know that in YOU there is no failure and we pray that the staff and administration here also knows the same. Give them wisdom, guidance and direction to care for ALL patients with professionalism and caring hearts, and the ability to 'know and do' BETTER!!!! (That they should keep in mind that when they treat ANY AND EVERY PATIENT - that this could be their own mother, father, sister, brother, husband or wife!) - Amen.

Don't go here if you have a complex condition, like hEDS or another hypermobility condition. At…read morethe time (this was over a year ago) I came in not yet diagnosed as hEDS, but made them aware that I was in the process and the issues I was having. My script was for whole spine PT. The person they gave me really seemed not to know what to do with that, and it seemed clear very quickly that she didn't want to deal with me. She was verbally abusive to me when I said I couldn't do certain exercises (I couldn't) or was having trouble with them. She seemed irritated or something that she couldn't just give me exercises and go. I often was overseen by a tech or another PT, the latter often giving me helpful tips bc they could see I was struggling. She didn't remember I had no at-home exercises (which I thought was weird - that I had none), and when she asked me if I was doing them, I looked at her like - what? It took several sessions before I asked where to get the stretchy bands and she goes "oh, we sell them here." Why would you not say that in the first place? I kept debating whether to just leave, but thought I'd "tough it out." Never again. The last straw was when she put me on a leg press or something and tried to start me at 50lbs. After I was still struggling with the other exercises. I said I could not do 50 lbs., and she berated me. But i did get less than that. After one day doing the press and something else new, I honestly could not move. I spent the day laying on the couch bc my back was rigid. I never went back. I cancelled my next appointment, and then got a call the day I was supposed to go wondering where I was. Wish I'd cancelled sooner.

The facility itself is a physical disaster. ZERO working lights in a bathroom used by three patients! I literally had to use my cell phone to see in the dark and I was at risk of falling due to my condition. The folks there were all in much more need for care than I was. Many were aphasia, or suffered dementia. After 3 days, I could not take it anymore so I discharged myself "Against Medical Advice". I left with my daughter, a registered nurse, who had tried talking me into staying. The Administrator said she was sorry to hear my decision, but to give Ivy Hill a good YELP review. I did not plan on any YELP review...until they accused my family of elder abuse! This was a SLANDER against the people who love me dearly and now I am thinking of suing. Extremely bad place. Stay away! There. How have like dem apples.

When you put together all of the right ingredients start with a staff of dedicated, caring people. Place them in a beautiful building located in a wonderful section of the city. You have all that's needed for the most positive of outcomes. I believe in the adage that it is not the setback, but in fact the get back that makes us the people who we are. Whether you have experienced an injury or illness and our need of recuperation or you may be advanced in age and could use some help with day in and day out needs. This is the place that you want to come to. Located on Ivy Hill road just before the dead end at Cheltenham avenue. Diversity proves Divinity and the ingredients from which come together in this location will see to it that you have the greatest of possible outcomes.

Another night he asked for a pillow under his knees and was told, "I'll see if I can find one", and the aide never returned. She also dropped the call button on the floor so he could not reach it and call for help. He was in pain all night until someone came in at 5:00 a.m. and got him a pillow. He developed a bed sore that they originally identified as such, but then tried to cover it up by saying it was "an abrasion". He was promised at my suggestion, to walk 2x/day, but most of the time that did not happen. One Sunday an aide walked w/him in the a.m., but when he asked again in the afternoon, he was told "I walked with you this morning. I'm too busy now and can't do it." I walked by the nurses' station 2 minutes later and found him sitting there doing nothing! Cleanliness is non-existent. Dirty clothes/underwear was put in a drawer with clean and I had to take everything home to wash it. One day someone came in to "clean" the toilet and I watched her clean the toilet bowl with a brush and then proceed to "clean" the top of the toilet seat with the same dirty brush!! Disgusting!!! Some of the people are pleasant, but others are downright nasty and act like they're doing you a favor. They're getting paid to provide patient care and if they don't like it, they should not be there. This place was a huge disappointment to say the least!

Hello, my name is Jimmie Mitchell a current resident at Fairview Nursing Home second floor rm#226A…read more I am posting this review to tell exactly how horrible it is living here..it has been in the 90's weather wise, and my rooms thermostat is at 79-81 constantly, the air condition system works when it wants to. My roommate and i have no working landline phone and have been without one for a year. The call bell only works if i literally take the cord out from the wall, even then only the light up top the door lights up, no one would be aware of the call bell light because it doesn't buzz at nursing station ..they allowed an employee yesterday that was unknown to any residents to take swabs on their gums clamming it was for a COVID test, which no resident was made aware of nor signed for.. upon information and belief i but not limited to believes that the administrator but not limited to and other staff members and employees are purposely misleading and manipulating residents and now are going above and beyond the calls of duty and are starting procedures to evict and displaced residents who really don't have any safe and secured places to go, clamming money being the primary cause and reasoning for doing so. Mean while the quality of living suffers, dilapidated building, subpar medical aid, and to be constantly reminded that Fairview Nursing Home controls ever aspect of what little life we have left....If you truly love your kin folk and loved ones PLEASE DO NOT PUT THEM IN FAIRVIEW NURSING HOME.
