We ha e been to many B&B's over the years, all over the world. But the experience we had at the Hart House has moved to the top of our list after our stay. Patrice and Al are delightful, and the home is spotless, charming, and had just the right amount of modern conveniences. And then there are the breakfasts. Oh. My. Goodness. 3 courses, all house made and/or local delicacies, and catered to our dietary restrictions. We got to choose between sweet or savory each morning, so we ordered one of each and tasted both. Dishes like breakfast banana splits, blueberry cobbler with gelato, and baked granola cups with honey sweetened Greek yogurt and local berries are examples of early courses. If they offer yeasted waffles, order them! They are out of this world. The room was large, comfortable and very authentic to the style and era of the home. And they sync the locks with your info so you don't need to carry around keys. The gorgeous hot tub and outdoor fire area are so nice. We spent a couple nights enjoying them. And they even lent us a cooler and camp chairs do we could attend the music in the commons and our family reunion events at nearby Silver Lake. And we really took advantage of the comfy front porch for morning reading. The trip could not have been nicer. It exceeded all our expectations. And make sure to check out the darling town! The pizza at Hart Pizza is a must, and the historical museum was a highlight. We look forward to returning over the years. Thank you, Patrice and Al!! read more

We rented a room for our honeymoon (young couple in our 30's) and the food, service, and accommodations were pristine. We asked if we could check in early due to it being our wedding day and they were so helpful in showing my fiancé around and letting him know how to get in and sign up for breakfast even though they said we couldn't yet get into the room. When my fiancé got there though they actually surprised us with an unexpected upgrade and we were able to drop our stuff off! Over and beyond expectations! Patrice somehow remembered that I was both gluten free and dairy free when I first mentioned it several months back when we first booked. She was very accommodating in making me something I could eat. The breakfast was a three course meal and was absolutely delicious with local and seasonal ingredients. We both would highly recommend anyone exploring the area to stay at the hart house with their excellent customer service, attention to detail, updated amenities and exceptional food! read more

We stayed over fourth of July. Al and Patrice took exceptional care of us! From reservations to the stay, everything was seamless! The breakfasts were absolutely delicious! Gourmet meals and you had your choice between a sweet or savory dish daily. I had ricotta pancakes with fresh blackberry sauce one day and my husband had a asparagus goat cheese frittata! The rooms are comfortable, newly renovated, and nicely decorated. There are extra touches like black makeup towels and every needed toiletry if you forgot anything. The town is nice and quiet and its easy access to a lot of beaches up and down lake Michigan. We will definitely be back again the next time we are in Michigan! read more

My husband and i stayed here this weekend for a romantic getaway. The owners were so kind and absolutely spoiled us. The house is beautiful and you don't have to worry about fragile antiques all over the place. It is very tastefully decorated. The location is right in the middle of everything in town, yet set back enough that it is not chaotic. The food (omg the food!) was absolutely amazing and there was plenty to go around. You can tell that Patrice truly loves to serve people and make them happy. We loved it so much we are planning a return trip in a couple months! read more

The owners start your visit before you even arrive, with phone calls and emails. They make sure to have something you like. During our visit they went above and beyond with complementary drinks and snacks. The home made breakfast was over the moon delicious. On the day we left, we were not able to stay for breakfast so they made us a light one that we could take on the road with us. This bed and breakfast is definitely worth the money and i greatly advise checking it out for yourself. read more

My husband and I love this bed and breakfast. The house has been recently renovated, bringing in modern conveniences while keeping the historic charm of the building. The innkeepers, Al and Patrice, are wonderful, as is Patrice's cooking, from fresh baked cookies at check-in and in the evenings to creative and delicious breakfasts. This was the most relaxing stay we have had in a long time and it is the nicest place in the area! The bed is so comfy it hugs your body and makes you want to stay forever and the sheets definitely add to that effect. We also are not breakfast people but when you wake up to the smell of gourmet food and hot coffee in the morning we have found a new appreciation for breakfast! read more
