I had an appointment yesterday for my 6 month as well as a review of my Quest results. Dr. Schuck took the time to spend almost 45 minutes with me while discussing my going forward options in an attempt to correct some of the results. It was a hard appointment to deal with as they normally go very well but her patience and understanding as well as the time she took to walk me through what I needed to do was very professional and needed. I Do NOT recommend this doctor's office at all! I had stayed with them for many years for their location to my house until their quality of the service declined more and more. They overbook their doctors so you are often waiting for them and then feel rushed within your appointment. The quality of the nurses can vary while the receptionists are usually rude and unwelcoming. Unfortunately the doctors are not educated enough on vegan or plant based diets. I am so happy to have finally found a new PCP that I feel confident in their level of care and knowledge. read more

They do not know how to bill people. I went to see them in July after getting into a car accident. I then received a bill the following April although the claim was supposed to go through the car insurance. They asked for a letter of exhaustion, and then said that the bill was no longer my responsibility. I then received another bill for the same claim at the end of June. I could not believe that they could be this disorganized. Aside from the disorganization in terms of billing, it seems to be a pretty standard medical group. As for the doctors, I saw a PA and he was pretty nice. The doctor that I usually saw there was okay, but didn't seem very impressive. She told me I should incorporate more grains into my diet, such as "quinona"... I'm sorry, but if you don't know what QUINOA is then please don't tell me to eat it. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Luger for about 10 years. Until the last few years, I've had a good experience. Their staff in the last 4-5 years has become awful, and anytime I need a refill on a normal, monthly prescription its more frustrating than its worth. I recently had to go to a follow-up just to get a new script refilled. I was charged $150 just to tell him everything was fine and for the nurse to take my vitals. I've gotten charged no show charges for times I've forgotten appts because I haven't been called when I've made the appts 6-8 weeks in advance, so I don't always keep a mental note. More recently, I wrote a detailed letter about my recent experience, especially with the hefty follow up appt price and the difficulties I've been experiencing. It took them about 3 weeks to get in touch with me, and the woman I spoke with was very rude, combative, and defensive as to why the follow up was so costly. No apology, no courteous explanation. And then before we finished our conversation, she said "Dr. Luger wanted me to let you know that if you feel uncomfortable with him or our staff, you have the option to switch your primary care doctor." I took this as a polite way of saying, f*** off. They are making money every time I fill a script. They have never acted like I am a patient or a respected customer. They have only acted like I am an inconvenience... when I'm only there maybe 3 times a year. My suggestion? Do not go to this office or this company in general. read more

Worst front office staff. Rude, rude, rude. They act as if you are bothering them. They behave as if they are completely miserable and over worked and that your mere phone call has added to that miserable fact. I do love Dr. Vitale and Dr. Bissel. Jerry Benjamin, the PA, is very thorough. Dr. Luger is fantastic with children. I just wish their front office would be trained on caring for people. Oh--and the billing department has had their fair share of errors..and rarely do they handle their mistakes with grace. Quite the defensive group of non-medical staff. One last detail--you will ALWAYS be put on hold when you call--before you get to even say "hello" or ask a question...sometimes for 10-20 min. If this office cleaned house and hired caring and kind humans, this would be a five star office. What a shame. read more

One-star is too much. They are the absolute worst. I had to pay a $40 co-pay because I saw a PA instead of the doctor. Apparently he is coded as a 'Specialist'. It took several phone calls to the billing group. They referred me to the doctors office. They referred me to the billing group. What a disfunctional organization. Finally, I called my insurance and had them deal with it. They assured me HMG would refund $20 of the over-paid co-pay. Well, that never happened. They even sent me to collections once because I paid $15 co-pay but the mediucal group said it should've been $20. They sent me a bill for $5 and then I received a notice for collection two weeks later. Once my doctor said, "I should've been a dentist. There's more money in it". Lastly, I had poison ivy and the itching was driving me nuts. I called to see if I could get a script for Prednisone which happens every Spring. The clerk said the earliest they could see me was in 8 days. I said nevermind, I'll go to a walk-in clinic. She said I couldn't do that. Really?!? Then she said Dr. H could see me at 3pm. So 7 days later receive a vm stating I have an appointment with Dr. Bissell the next day. Call to cancel if you cannot make it. I called after-hours and the phoine just rang and rang. No answering service, no machine, nothing. Good thing I wasn't having a medical emergency. A week later I get a letter stating I missed my appointment and they will bill me $35 if it happens again. Before I could call to complain I received a certified letter stating they could no longer provide service for me. What a bunch of morons!!!!! read more

I followed my doctor from his Ellington practice to this location because I think he is that good. He really cares about my health and my opinions and I'm not afraid to be honest with him. The nurses are friendly and the staff is helpful. I recommend my doctor to everyone I know! read more

I had a terrible first appointment. First, I scheduled the appointment online for 1:15pm with Dr. Bissell. I arrived early for my new patient paperwork. When I checked in, I told them what time my appointment was and who I was to see, Then waited over 45 minutes. I then inquired how much longer and was told that my appointment was at 2pm! I then said NO and showed them my email confirming my appointment time. They said sorry. After a bit I went in and when the doctor came in I noticed she was not the doctor I requested. When I asked about her, I was told she no longer worked there! Nothing was said to me when I arrived. A week later I called to write down my blood pressure to keep for my records and my weight. She told me my weight which was 50 pounds heavier than I have ever been!! I told her and she said " well that's what it says". Not very professional office staff at all.. read more

Two things, number 1: I haven't needed to go to my PCP for much other than a yearly physical. I got a bad upper respiratory infection the beginning of December 2013 and called this office (I am one of Dr Schuck's pts) several times. After 3 days of calling I finally got to speak to a random nurse. I explained my symptoms and explained that I just wanted to tell my dr what was happening so that she could make a recommendation as to whether she thought I would need to be seen (again, no insurance so pay out of pocket). I did not want to go in if it wasn't necessary. I asked for the Dr to call me back and waited a couple more days after leaving a couple more messages (realing feeling like crap at this point). Finally the office manager called my back and told me that I would not be able to talk to my Doctor unless I made an appointment to come in. This tells me that the emphasis is placed on the dollar, not the patient. I can't get 30 seconds of my doctors time? And I am supposed to trust this person and practice with the care of my family? Laughable. I am a practice manager for a living and our practice always makes time for patients, and will have a patient come in for a 2 minute consult if they don't have the money to pay just so we can give them a quick checkup to prescribe a medication. I wasn't looking for a free visit, I would have paid. I just wanted 30 seconds of my doctors time. Second: They never, ever take you in on time. My wife is there for a physical right now. Her appointment was at 1:45 and she texted me around 2:15 saying nobody told her about running behind, apologized, or anything else and that she was still in the lobby. Again, as a practice manager, this is ridiculous. Even as a human this is ridiculous. You make a 1:45 appointment and don't bother to tell the patient that you are sorry, the doctor is running behind. Or hang in there, we will be right with you, sorry about the wait. Or anything. Again, completely unacceptable. This is the same practice who I have overheard while waiting in the lobby trying to reschedule a patient for being just 5 minutes late. They don't care about your time, but don't mess with even a few minutes of their time because they will not see you! These things both tell me that the practice in general does not care about their patients in the least bit. I no longer trust that they will do the right thing for their patients. What I would like in a practice is for them to medically dedicate themselves to the well being of their patients. I understand that they are a business and need to make money like any other. I have money to pay them even without medical insurance, but they chose to not help me when I was sick and not have enough respect to take us in on time, or let us know when they cant. read more

I was erroneously billed for a visit that I was neither scheduled for nor attended. In fact, I was out of the country at day/time of said appointment. Upon receiving a bill from HMG Windsor I called the billing office to have this rectified. I was apologized to and assured it would be taken care if not to worry. I received yet a second notice for the same apt. I called again and was apologized to for the oversight and was promised remedy. The next month I received a collection notice for said bill. I have A+++ credit and was in the process of a refi and was livid. I called the office yet again and told them to have the doctor call me back. Needless to say he never did and I was "fired" from the practice a few weeks later for, get this--"non compliance of medical advice" It took almost 2 years to get my medical records, each request ignored and met with hostility from the front office staff. In fact, when we tried to get our daughters records to switch practices they never sent them to the new doctor and blamed US for not sending a form in (which we did twice!) BEWARE! Horrible Experiences with both Billing and Service!!!! Be afraid - be very afraid. I paid my co-pay amount each visit before seeing the doctor. Despite this, my credit report now says that I owe them money when I do not. Get a receipt and save it for a long time even years to prove your innocence. Also they supposedly sent me a letter stating that I missed 4 appointment in one year. I do not have 4 appointments per year as there are semi-anual appointments. There were some rescheduled appointments not missed. I never received a letter of any kind from this office stating that there are 4 appointments limit or that I was getting close. Three are NO Appointment Reminders sent out at all. When you call the office for any reason expect to be on hold for at least 10 minutes before you can speak with anyone. Since I did not know I was being thrown out of the office for missing appointments, I called in when the prescription renewal came up, I called in to get the renewal and found out about this issue. Now I cannot get the medication needed!!!!! They could care less!!! I called back in to get my medical records sent to my new doctor so I could get an emergency appointment with another doctor, I was told the release forms were in the office only. They could not email me a form. They could not do anything at all until I started loosing it on the phone and yelling at them. Then they brain stormed and figured out that all of the forms are on their web site and I could get online to get a blank form. So I am stuck now without required medication due to the SUPPOSED missed appointments. DUE TO MISSED APPOINTMENTS - 4 IN ONE YEAR, I CANNOT GET NEEDED MEDICATION!!
