There's also a "Historic Grinnell" sign erected on the grounds which gives a description of the area. It begins, "Josiah Bushnell Grinnell, a native of Vermont, was the person to whom Horace Greeley gave his famous advice 'Go West, young man, go West.' The venue itself is beautiful and immaculate. I am a person with a disability and rely on a mobility aid. I had absolutely no problem navigating this venue. The wedding itself was held upstairs in a light and bright room. The reception was downstairs-- there was a separate area for the food buffet and an actual bar for drinks. It accommodated under 150 people no problem. I will say that besides having excellent staff, Price Creek Event Center also serves up some tasty food- which isn't always the case at weddings! Nearly all attendees were clean plate club members. The only glaring negative-- is the decor and whole vibe is kind of dated. The entire time I felt like I was in a 1980s movie. Price Creek Event Center is definitely worth considering if you're throwing an event in Amana -- it is just a stones throw away from the Hotel Millwright, the brewery and more!

We brought three grandsons here to experience the farm that grandpa grew up on. They are big city kids and thoroughly enjoyed running free over the empty cornfields and lovely walking trails. I don't use a wheelchair, but I have to have pretty easy access to shower and such. This place was perfect. They also have some tree houses that would be fun, but that would be difficult for me and this place. There's plenty large enough to sleep five or six. The grandkids said they wanna live here. That made me very happy because I was worried that they might be bored. There are no theme parks here. they loved exploring the woods and the frozen creeks along the walking trail. The hosts could not be more perfect. We were responsive. But left us to our family time!

There was another beautiful stained glass cabinet with tea pots and saucers in it. It was so beautiful that I had my husband paying attention to this really fine workmanship so he could someday build me something like that. That didn't go over well... The kitchen had everything you could need including a full fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher, nice dining room table, kettle and coffee maker among other things. There was plenty of kitchen items for cooking and once again clean and beautifully decorated. More cat decorations! There were two bedrooms, of which we only used one. And guess what? More cat decorations. Not complaining as we have two cats! I thought they were pretty neat. The unit itself definitely had a feminine touch of decoration without feeling old and like you were at Grandma's house. It was a nice change, as hubby isn't overly fond of the B&Bs that feel like you are at someone's grandparent's house. The second bedroom was very floral, so good thing our son wasn't with us. Ha! The bed was comfortable, the heating system worked well and the bathroom was great since we were only there two nights. No jacuzzi, but fine for our short stay. We opted out of breakfast, since we wanted to try some of the restaurants in the town, so we cannot comment on it. The price was very reasonable at $80 per night. I would definitely recommend this place for a stay close to town. On the way out, we talked to the other innkeeper and he was extremely friendly.
