There were used face masks in the maze and condiment packs all over the ground there.

I'm sure if we visited a week or two earlier, it'd have been more exciting. It was pretty dead when we went. No animals, bouncy pad had no air. Sandbox had grass growing out of it. Very worn down. We went to pick pumpkins but the patch was almost bare. The pumpkins they did have were rotted. Most were sitting in the Gaylord on a pallet out front. Just like Walmart. The corn maze was eh but the donuts were great. Cinnamon, sugar and they made them on site. Scenery was also great but.. we came to Have fun picking pumpkins and going thru the maze. I was disappointed.

They provide a…read moresaw and rope, but it's highly recommended to bring your own gloves to help protect from the pine needles as well as a tarp to facilitate pulling your tree down the hill. They have Douglas firs and Colorado blue spruces that are clearly very healthy. We picked a nice chubby blue spruce and he's doing quite well at home. Our kitty loves this tree and so do we! If you need any tree accessories (stands, etc) or a beautiful wreath, they have it here! I also saw local cider and honey for sale. As for the stands, you might wince at the sight of the $50 price tag, but I assure you that it's worth it. The flimsy $20 ones at Target or Walmart that tip over are not sturdy enough for trees like the ones here and the reservoirs aren't big enough for the water the tree will need. So, do yourself a favor to avoid the pain and heartache and splurge on a good, sturdy, quality Canadian tree stand that will last for years to come and won't make your house into a disaster because of your tree falling over. Highly recommend!!!

We were given a map, saw and rope and took off through their well planted field of trees till we found the perfect one. Then came the one challenging part- hauling our freshly cut tree over the staging area. Some families had obviously been here before and brought tarps or wagons- noted for next time! But once we got close to the staging area, one of the employees came rushing over and helped carry the tree with me the erst of the way to their tractor. We then got to ride the tractor up to the main barn, our tree in the front of the loader. They then shook it out and wrapped it up nicely with string, then brought it back down via tractor again to the car loading area. Another employee then helped me lift it onto the roof of the SUV. Every single one of the employees was polite, helpful, and just made the whole experience fantastic. The main barn does offer a small variety of food, along with drinks and cider, and wreaths. There is also a nicely decorated antique pickup for photos. The tree was certainly not the cheapest, but its fresh, big and full, and the whole experience made it a place we will definitely go back to!

2019 Season not worth going…read more My family and I have come here a few times over the years and a couple years ago had good experiences. In 2018 we tried to come in December ~6-10ish, and found the farm closed as they'd sold out of available trees. We chalked it up to our being a bit later in the season. This year we're here Saturday after Thanksgiving and the place is barren and the majority of trees near the shed are gone. The prices have gone up again too. Apparently last year they were $85 for up to 6' (and $10/ft over 6 foot) and this year they're $95. A couple of years ago they were $75 and the trees weren't this ratty looking. We enjoyed the scenic drive and got a good walk out of it, but we'll be hitting up a tree lot on the way home where we can get nicer trees for less. If you want some outdoorsing, this isn't a bad option, but for a tree I would go elsewhere. Edit to add: I can appreciate based on the owner's response to my comment that the tree farm has had issues with disease decimating their stock, and that is unfortunate, but my husband called the farm before we headed out there to ask what the supply was like, and this was not mentioned at all by the lady answering the phone.

Can't blame…read morethem for poor inventory (I think it's been a couple of rough years for these farms), but there weren't many options. We arrived at 9:30a the day after Thanksgiving and I was surprised how little inventory they had. They give you a map and let you have at it. I was a little surprised that there was no one walking/driving the fields for customers. We found a tree and cut it down no problem. Hauled it to the front using one of the carts that they provide. They are pretty strict on charging for exact footage of the tree you pick. Which turned me off a bit. You're really going to charge me $10 extra dollars because my tree is a few inches over 6ft? I guess I should've just cut more off the bottom.. When you check out they had water coolers and a tin can of cookies. No music, no hot chocolate, etc. The service was rough. They carried the tree to the car and put it on top of the car, the tree rolled off immediately. No help tying it down or anything. Was really surprised. Even at Lowe's they help you tie down your Christmas tree! I'm not saying this place is the worst, but I was very surprised by the amazing reviews...until I found on their website that they offer $5 off if you write a Yelp review. Hmm. No wonder they've got such strong reviews...

They also have a smaller satellite location at Clevenger's Corner (Route 211 and Route 229, Amissville, VA 20106), right next to the Shell Station), although this location doesn't have the same height range or variety as the main Warrenton location. Absolutely beautiful, full, fresh-cut trees of several different varieties ranging in size from around 5 feet up to around 13 feet. We've never failed to find a fabulous specimen to grace our cathedral-ceilinged living room (usually between 8-9 feet or so). To start with, you don't even have to soil your lily-white hands with sap or any tree flotsam/jetsam, as a Scout cheerfully walks around with you to pull out & twirl any & all trees you want to examine. Last Sunday we purchased a gorgeous 8-1/2 footer for $65 (cash or check only, so come prepared). We were offered to have some of the lower branches & the trunk end trimmed on the lot, but we prefer to do this ourselves right before setup at home (which you should do as well - helps the tree suck up more water if you trim that trunk right before you stick it in the tree stand which you immediately fill with warm water). Then our tree was net-bagged & several helpful Scouts helped load it into the back of our SUV (well, it "almost" fit - lol!!). And the few times in the past when we've had a tree that simply wouldn't fit inside the vehicle, many helping hands assisted in carefully tying it to the roof - even in bone-chilling cold. Bottom line: Everyone always smiling, friendly, & willing to help - even in the most unpleasant of weather; reasonable prices for this day & age; quality, fresh, trees in several varieties & heights, & helping out a worthy cause. I can't even remember the last time we've bought a Xmas tree anywhere else.
