A beautiful "pick your own" farm with so many different fruits, veggies, and flowers to pick. They also have a very homey farm stand with seating to sit and eat food, as well as a little market to shop for other items. The apple panini was delicious, and the strawberry lemonade was not overly sweet like I was afraid it might be. You can easily spend an afternoon here picking items and eating lunch, and they even have fire pits and a little play area for kids!

My usual Apple picking place was closed this year so I wanted to try something new! The drive out in the back roads is so picturesque. There's a gravel parking lot and it's easy to park. Although I wouldn't suggest it in a super low or luxury car. There are some bumps! The staff is very friendly relaxed and helpful. You check in at your time slot and are given a bag to collect apples. You can bring your own too! There are the Apple catching sticks to assist in a large wooden crate nearby the entrance. They didn't seem to have a super large array of apples to get. Perhaps it's the weather or COVID related? The only other issue was near the bathrooms had a bad smell. They arent portapotties though which is nice! You have your apples weighed and can grab a bite inside their market where they have food, drinks, pies, local honey etc. Overall I really liked it here! I'd be back for sure.

I had a wonderful experience at Mackintosh Fruit Farm! This place is seriously underrated! I picked some of the most delicious peaches I've ever had in my life here. Pros: Peaches: I came for the peaches, and left with my expectations definitely exceeded! The peaches were delicious. I came on 8/22, and was able to pick tons of juicy perfect peaches- there were plenty on the trees still. Selection of other produce: I also noted that there were many other fruits and veggies! I picked up some black raspberries, apples, cucumbers abs a couple zucchini. I would recommend calling in advance if possible or referencing their website to see what is in season/ what they have a lot of-- there is definitely a big variety of fruits and veggies here spread out over tons of land! Prices: the prices for picking fruits and veggies here were super reasonable and lower than at other locations I have been to within the general area. I also felt that the overall selection was better, in terms of variety and volume (especially of peaches!) I think I paid about $20 and left with several pounds of peaches and other produce. Well worth it ! Friendliness: the staff were super friendly and helpful in directing us towards what we wanted to pick which was helpful just given how big the property is. Seating area/ shop: there is a cute shop where you can buy pies, sandwiches, and salads-and a variety of other items, all made locally. Family and pet friendly: I saw many families with younger and older children. I also saw many well behaved and leashed pups walking around! Scenic/ cute farm animals: while picking peaches, I saw some majestic cows napping nearby, and also was able to observe several rowdy chickens playing in their pen. Such a beautiful pastoral landscape! No cons really! This was a great experience-- I'd like to come back in the fall! One strange incident : one strange incident occurred when my friend and I left our basket of peaches unattended for under 3 min while we walked about 20 feet to pick some raspberries from a nearby tree. When we returned, the basket we had filled was gone. We let staff know immediately but they couldn't locate it! It was a little odd--the basket also had our face masks in it as well as some coffee we picked up. Oh well-- we just re-picked the fruit! Still a little strange though haha

One of my favorite fun activities to do in Virigina and what a farm to do it in. We arrived around 12pm on a Sunday and while it wasn't too packed there were quite a bit of families already there grabbing fruits and veggies. We paid a $4 entrance fee for 2 people (totally worth it) and was given a wagon, buckets and bags to put the produce we bought that would be weighed by the pound. I loved how big and spacious the farm was, and how pretty it looked for photo opps and just spending a good time surronded by nature. There was also a little cafe with baked goods and places to sit and picnic if you wanted in the cafe area. Great place for large families to spend a day. I would also recommend getting there early - by 1pm a lot of the good stuff (especially in the veggie area) was already picked.

We had a great & delicious time today!!

We enjoyed our visit to the farm today, we picked peaches, tomatoes, cucumbers, green bell peppers and blackberries. Ate yummy grilled cheese, veggie panini, tamales, chicken nuggets, French fries and cider donuts. Oh and those pickles are my new fav! Brought home duck eggs, honey and peach preserves.... And more donuts. Try the basil lemonade as well. Scenic drive there from Woodbridge. Will visit again!

Very cute farm with lots of choices available for fruit picking! Price is right at $2 entry to pick for adults. We came here to get apples, but also saw flowers, vegetables, and peaches available. They also have a little cafe area where you could purchase food and drinks. We were a bit late and missed out on apple cider donuts, but we're pretty happy with the ice cream we got. All in all, a nice spot to go to for fruit picking!

A nice farm to suit your fall apple-picking needs. The trees seemed a bit on the small/young size, but the apples were quite tasty. Note that only pick a few varieties of apples or other fruit are available to pick at any given time. There were only 3 varieties of apples ready when we visited (and none of our favs). Be sure to check the website for up to date info on what is ready to pick! That said, we were told we would be able to pick some criterion apples, but the trees were almost completely picked over so we didn't find any good ones. Don't get too carried away picking because you might be in for a shock at the register - the man in front of us had a wagon of picked apples that rang up to $150 (!) I like the system they have in place for u-pick - you reserve a spot online, and it seems to be much needed by the size of the crowds in line. They also had some good-looking pumpkins for picking, and a spacious outdoor seating area with a lovely view to enjoy food and drinks from their market. For peak fall fun, be sure to treat yourself to the apple cider donuts and an apple panini!

Mackintosh Fruit Farm is a wonderful place to bring your family. It's also a great experience with someone important to you. We were here in the summer and picked cherries, this time we picked apples. The fruit was fantastic both times. It's not the cheapest place to get fruit so I wouldn't come with the expectation that you're going to get a deal by picking it yourself. I would come with the expectation of a great experience, with people you love and great fruit. It was foggy this morning as we picked apples and my family absolutely loved it. We learned about different types of apples and then had brunch at the small market they have on site. The apples were charged by the pound. I watched someone who was unhappy that when they were charged for the weight of the box in addition to the weight of the apples. I thought the experience was worth being charged the weight of the box. COVID rules are in place, so bring your mask and be prepared to social distance in line. There was plenty of space in the orchard which far exceeded the social distancing guidelines. Be prepared to walk. This is a working farm so dress accordingly and don't wear anything but closed-toed shoes that are appropriate for a varied terrain. Be sure to check out the goats and chickens - especially if you have kids with you.

The apples we picked were honey crisp at $1.5/lb - LOVE them! We went on their annual pig roast day but we were disappointed that we didn't get to see the actual pig being roasted. The ticket we got for pig roast was a pulled pork sandwich and some side dishes. They tasted okay but hey we wanted to see the pig being roasted. It's dog friendly as long as you dogs are on leashes.

Apple picking season is here so here I am. My friends and I came here at 8am on a Saturday per our appointment. Masks are required due to Covid. The farm is easy to find. After checking in, we got to take a bag to store my apples. Then, my group headed to the site of Apple trees. We got to pick gala and Fuji apples. You should definitely check their website to see what's available before coming. After we were done picking, we brought the apples back for scaling and payment. It's $2.49 per pound. They also have pumpkin right now for $0.69 per pound. Other vegetables were limited so we didn't really check it out. The price is not too cheap but I guess it's about the experience. There's an on-site market, where they sell apple cider, apple cider donuts, farm produces, and food. They also have outdoor seats. We got hot apple cider, donuts, the week's special (pulled pork and apple coleslaw), and Apple panini. I personally loved the Apple panini. They also got some animals (roosters/hens and goats) on the farm. Overall, I had a relaxing and enjoyable time here. I would definitely come back again! By the way, you should definitely wear comfy shoes. The farm is a lot bigger than I thought it would be.

We have been going to pick-your-own fruits and vegetable places for many many years. I have to say that MackIntosh Farms is one of the best places we've ever been to. The areas to pick fruit are extremely well laid out clearly marked and easy to navigate. Yesterday when we went to Mackintosh's we picked apples peaches and tomatoes. The fruits and vegetables were absolutely perfect. I was going to put olive oil and basil on the tomatoes but decided that they were so sweet and succulent that it would be a shame to marr their perfect taste. Check out was easy convenient and well organized. Though it was over 50 miles from Washington the drive was simply beautiful. I can't wait to go back.

This was our 3rd year in a row to make the long drive specifically for the fujis. We picked up 10 boxes or bushels. At $20 a box it's worth the drive for the 40lbs of apples. I'm not sure what kind of fujis these are but they have come out more green than red though they are still sweet, crispy and delicious. I learned that they can come as green as a granny smith. Becky explained to me that it was a Fuji apple that had been taken from the center of the tree where it doesn't get any sunlight. She even cut it open and sliced a piece for us and had the same crisp texture but no sweet taste. Things to know before coming here: - They hand pick the apples and place them into big wooden crates. You take from the crates. You don't pick them from the tree. If you want to pick your own apples, you will be refered to another farm a few miles away. - You aren't allowed to pick or rake through the apples. You are only allowed to pick from the top. If you find badly bruised or spoiled apples you can put them aside where it'll be put in a bin for juicing or fed them to the cows. - You may be instructed to pick from one crate until it's finished before starting a new crate. - They are hand picked from the trees and not processed or coated with wax like you would find at the grocery store. The fujis may not look like store quality apples as they aren't perfectly round, symmetrical, or uniformly sized, but they certainly are pretty damn tasty and certainly worth the price. - they aren't coated with wax so you'll need to take special precautions to keep them cool and humid but not wet.
