This is a nice family's 12 row blueberry patch, rather than a big farm. Call 1st to see if they're open and if the blueberries are picked over or not. Same scenario with honey. :)
They display their honey wares on their picnic table, which I found endearing.
This is not a fancy farm. This family has opened their home to sell a few country fresh items.
When we picked blueberries, we almost missed out since locals arrived VERY early and got the best pickings. The nice owner had tried to call me, leaving a message, to advise of the slim pickings (I had called the day before to confirm hours, availability, and to ask for directions). I found his concern for my drive from St. Louis a nice touch.
Do arrive early, and definitely call in advance. This is probably a spot best used by locals or those who live in the vicinity.
By the way, the berries we were able to get were delicious! The honey was superb! read more
