Northway is actually one church with multiple locations (Wexford, Sewickley, Oakland, Dormont, East End & in Feb 2018, Beaver Valley) The main campus is Wexford and all of the other sites watch the sermon via screen, although sometimes there are live sermons on campus, It may sound strange, but you truly feel like you are there and the message is loud and clear. They want all of the campuses to receive the exact same message. There are serving opportunities inside and outside of the church. All off the campuses have what is called a small group (think, Bible Study) Since it is a larger church, small groups help you create personal friendship within the church. Oakland has 3 different service times on Sunday: 9am, 11am and 5pm. All generations attend, but a large group of the attendance is from college students and 20-30s. But like I said, it is all generations. I highly recommend checking it out. Its a great church and the growth of Northway tells you that others also enjoy our church. Despite Northway as a whole and the Oakland campus having a larger attendance, you truly feel like a family here and it is not overwhelming. Everyone is so welcoming.

They purchased a new building around Easter. The church is in a more office looking building than what most people think of when they think of a church building/temple/synagogue. The 1st floor is indoor parking. They also have a small private parking lot the second floor is the Welcome Center and the children's area. The third floor is where the sanctuary is located. They have 3 services -9am, 11am, and 5pm. Their service starts with a time of praise & worship. The music is performed by a drummer, piano player, a couple of guitarists, and a violinist. I really enjoyed the time of worship. Then their is a sermon. What makes this a little different is that even though this campus of North Way has it's own pastor the sermon is given by one of the pastors that each shepherd a campus of North Way. So the sermon is "shown" live on a big screen that looks like the person is preaching from the platform where you are attending. It is streamed live from the main campus and each pastor goes to that campus to preach on their given Sunday. I thought it would be weird not having an actual pastor preaching, but you adapt quickly to the streaming. I find the concept interesting because you are able to see a couple of different preaching styles. I was at the 9am service and it was comprised of a lot of young adults but there were a few older adults. I would definitely go back. It was nice to see that my son attends a wonderful church.

I have never participated in any worship services or ministry activities here, but I did recently visit the church once for a community fundraiser. I sat in the fellowship hall to eat a meal. The area was spacious and clean, and the event organizers interacted very courteously with me. I greatly appreciated their service to the community.

Tall Spires reaching high above the street and gorgeous architecture make it really stand out. There is a small parking lot at one side of the building and there is also street parking available on the surrounding streets. When you enter, you can't help but be in awe at the massive size and ornate details of the church space. There is a long aisle, majestic columns and gorgeous main and side altars. I have been here for both regular and special event type Masses. I like that they have a Sunday evening Mass option. Mass here is reverent and beautiful. Hearing the organ bellow through this majestic space is incredible. They also often feature a choir during the school year on Sunday mornings. This church is worth visiting whether you want to attend Mass, spend some time in quiet prayer or just take in the gorgeous architecture.

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, multiple times for daily and Sunday Mass and daily confession…read moreopportunities? You definitely won't find that anywhere else in the Diocese (or maybe even in the area as a whole). I learned about the Oratory when I moved from Buffalo and was unpleasantly surprised that there are so few options for perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in this area. Where I lived in the Buffalo area, we had three chapels within a 15 minute (or so) drive. I didn't realize how spoiled I was. I fist visited for Adoration. During daylight hours, the chapel is open to everyone. For the later evening and overnight hours, you need to know a code or be a registered Adorer. I like that there is a sense of security so if you do have a late night prayer time, you can feel a sense of security. The chapel itself is pretty small. Every Mass I've been there for was literal standing room only (and often even spills out into the hallway). But the chapel is packed with beauty. The priests that celebrate Mass are reverent with meaningful and impactful homilies. They are also very compassionate and friendly. The Oratory has a small parking lot at the side of the building, but there is also generally street parking available as well. I definitely recommend attending Mass or Adoration here.

The priest were extremely personable once I talked to them. I started off going to their masses late and leaving early, but by the end of college I couldn't keep away from the chapel. Very conducive environment for learning about faith while there are a fair amount of chill people that are involved there. I have since explored other newman centers and find this one to be one of the best. Bombtastic priests that always have adoration going on equals a knock out combo for doing well in school (constant prayer: Lord I have no idea what I am doing please be with me during his test). Getcha some of this newman center and you won't regret it (warning: some of the students can be off putting at first, but there are a bunch more that are normal and it took a couple visits to fully understand that)
