Due to covid you now order the meal you want at the registers at the front of the restaurant. I am severely allergic to tree nuts. I asked the lady when ordering my meal if there were any nuts in it. I was told no in the type of voice that made me feel stupid for asking. I sit down with my group and my meal was brought out shortly after. My chicken was cold, the beans were cold, the mashed potatoes were good. As I was eating my cold green beans I noticed a bunch of shaved almonds underneath the few I just ate. Immediately I begin to panic. I find the manager and told her. She was very nice and very worried for me and my safety and offered to call medical. I told her no that it should be alright since I didn't directly eat one. I wasn't offered a comp or anything but was brought out another meal which was warm this time round and extra mashed potatoes to substitute out the green beans. Overall though it was a terrible experience and I will not be back. Take food allergies seriously! All employees need to be better trained. I was lucky but the next person might not be. read more

It was the last day of our camping at Cache Canyon River and on our way back home was Cache Creek Casino. It was around 10am and we all decided to have brunch. Harvest Buffet opened at 10am and they had a wonderful line of breakfast and lunch dishes served to our delight. I totally forgot to take a photo of their omelet, but it was one of their marvelous entrées. All the omelet ingredients were laid out in front of you, then you would pick and choose which ingredients you want in and they would cook everything in front of you. You would just drool while they do it. *laughs* Their service was great. We were 13 all in all and we got seated at a wonderful corner. The servers always checked on us, refilled all our drinks timely and were very friendly. Nothing beats real food compared to camping food, served fit for a king/queen! Their lunch dishes were good, not the best, but it would do. I enjoyed their Salt and Pepper Shrimp as well as their Broccoli Beef. I was too full to even indulge in to their dessert section. They had several magnificent looking dessert plates. It was too tempting, but I just didn't have space for it. It was a wonderful brunch buffet. I've been to this buffet about 3/5 times before. Each time they had something different on the menu.... But my issue is with the flavor of the food. I honestly feel like the people they have cooking all the food for the buffet to be served don't really care about cooking. Like they don't have a passion to make the food taste great. A person who wants to be a chef has that passion to want the food to taste and have flavor. But this place completely lacks that. I would not recommend this buffet to anyone....terrible food... and waaaay over priced for the flavor experience you get out of all the food they serve. $40 bucks a head is NOT WORTH IT.... read more

We came on a typically busy Saturday evening when it's currently $28.99 for the seafood buffet (discounted with your Player's Club card, or else it's $32.99 w/o card). Sunday thru Thurs, the buffet is only $12.99 w/ your card, which is a steal. The Fri/Sat dinner buffet opens at exactly 4:30pm and there's a line that forms before then. Prior to that, the entrance is closed. So, the ol' "piggy-backing" trick (a'la Hometown Buffet) of paying lunch-time prices to catch the dinner serving won't work here, unfortunately. Not sure they even serve lunch here? The menu says in small print that food items are subject to change and lobster ISN'T on the menu here. It's still a decent deal and they let you use any Player's Club dollars you have built against your tab. Servers come around with complimentary soft drinks & water (alcohol is extra) and clear plates, so tipping at the end is customary, but not mandatory. This place has the same setup you would expect from a Casino Buffett. There are sections by ethnicity Mexican, Italian, Chinese & American there is also a central carver where most nights they do turkey and some other kind of meat. Weekends sport Prime Rib and Turkey with Crab legs in 2-3 places along the line. There are problems as with any buffet, the pasta tends to get dry so a little extra sauce from the spaghetti station is a good plan. The Enchiladas tend to go fast but they are stocked more often than some place like Hometown. Some of the food is far from authentic but that doesn't mean it's not tasty just that it's not how your Italian or Chinese grandmother would make it. The desert selection is also very good, not just the standard cakes (of which there are many) but almost always a parfait or two as well as some eclair type goods or chocolate strawberries. Bread Pudding, Rice Pudding, 3-4 ice creams and 3-4 cookie selections. If you went to a specialized place you could find better versions of almost everything here. But everything I have had here was good, while it might not be just the way you like it, it's a safe and tasty version of the dish. The broad range of food as well as the quantity I think more than make up for the lack of the OMG outstanding fare. Though I have to say the Prime Rib is very good. One star only because the employees are so nice. Here on a Monday, Memorial Day. Menu screen isn't working - this is typical for this place - so you only have the buffet ads that list the menu, and they flash past fairly quickly, then you have to wait until it cycles through all the different days and menus before it comes back to Monday. Ad menu clearly states buffet on Mondays has peel-n-eat shrimp and prime rib. Dad and I are both allergic to seafood, and I'm allergic to peppers, and buffet's $17 per person, regardless of age, but considering our options are Asian restaurants only, the buffet looked like a good option. And, worth it with Prime Rib. Oh! But, AFTER we pay, and go for our first plates, we find out that the price being higher on Memorial Day DOESN'T include Prime Rib. There's none. I asked the manager. Well, apparently , somewhere in the bottom of the screen is a note (tiny font) that prime rib and shrimp aren't available on holidays. A note I couldn't see, despite waiting twice to cycle thru all the ads so I could see the menu for Monday twice. Oh...but they DO have the shrimp, so the note isn't correct. Lots and lots of seafood. Shrimp and crab everywhere, fried fish, sauteed fish. There's no end to it. ....including in the mac and cheese that's supposed to go with the fried chicken. So, I had a piece of the fried chicken, no sides. Chicken's pretty good. Went across to the carving station and got potatoes and gravy. Gross. Checked out salad bar - sad iceberg lettuce with carrots and red cabbage, and a few pathetic veggies, including kidney beans they didn't rinse, so they've still got the pink goo on them. Yeah, you're supposed to rinse those. Nearly every dish has peppers in it / on it or contains fish/seafood. There are dishes with non-English names on them, and since I don't know what they mean, I don't dare eat them. Why no translation?? Potstickers were disgusting. This will leave me with pork fried rice as my only option. Ridiculous! Glad I paid $17 for one piece of chicken, fried rice, and a coke. Again, staff's been really nice, and I appreciate that very much. But, we won't be back. Bait and switch, for sure. We have prime rib and shrimp, but not on holidays, and we hide that note from you, ...oh, but we still have the shrimp. Are you kidding? Vibe/ layout, service I brought in a hungry vibe and was ready to stuff my face. The place is very big and a very long counter with lots of food! As well lots of seating and no worries for long lines. Service is pretty good, very attentive, and cleared and brought drinks and condiments quickly. Food This is for the harvest buffet. We went on a weekday and i believe it was about $14 for lunch. Highlights of what i found somewhat ok and good. Red curry chicken - This sauce was soooo good. It was more of an indian curry than other ethnicity, it remind me of chicken masala. The sauce was so good with the rice! I think this was my favorite dish in the buffet. Rice - i did have the asian veggie fried rice - which had bean sprouts, peas, carrots, and green onions - yes it was fresh and fluffy and paired zoo good with the red curry sauce above. The Mexican rice with corn was good as well. I had a hard time choosing which one i liked better with the red curry. Fried chicken - This was the bomb, because they kept refilling with fresh hot fried chicken! I attacked the drumsticks, because it was sooo tender and fresh and juicy! i did find it bland but texture was on point! i did dip it in the red curry sauce once again, it was foodgasm! Mixed veggies - Fresh grilled squash and zucchini- always need my veggies and went well with everything or alone. Corn on the cob - I found this to be a bit soggy like it was frozen corn on the cobb, but presentation is very appealing and delicious. Ribs- excellent, presented well, tender, and yes just the right amount of sweetness, i believe it was called honey mustard ribs. Green bean casserole - It was creamy and fresh! Mash potatoes - This was eh ok, i had to add butter, black pepper, and green onions. But mac and cheese is mmm and the cheese sticks to the macaroni, which i found noms. My mother lives in Vegas so I've had my fair share of buffets over the years. From high end (Wicked Spoon) to off strip $free.99 questionable buffets. But I must say, hands down this was the best buffet overall. The food ranged from the normal prime rib and salad bar to BBQ, Asian, and breakfast (in the afternoon). The reason why I loved it was that the food was fresh. Food that was suppose to be crispy (fried chicken, egg rolls.. etc) was crispy. Everything I ate tasted good, like it wasn't mass produced. Each station had someone working there checking temperatures, stirring soups, and switching out the old food. The only thing that was lacking (and usually the best station) was the desserts. I love sampling all the little cake a chocolate creations but very few looked appealing. The waiters and waitresses came around often. Empty plates were picked up promptly and drinks refilled quickly. Best part about it all was (brace yourself) the meal was FREE!!! My favorite price! When you first walk into the casino (assuming you are new and do not have a players card) sign up for one. You will receive a $25 meal credit. I was excited to go cause I live far but sometimes I do make the drive to go to the casino and have dinner there. This time the food was cold, the steak was disgusting, the sushi was trash, I really couldn't believe it. I was so disappointed, definitely not worth the $30 dlls you charge. I would rather go to Hometown buffet and get better quality food and spend $13. Saturday night and didn't feel like drinking for once so I decided to head to Cache Creek to eat and play. We saw harvest buffet for $25 so we decided to give it a try. Walked inside and damn it was pretty big place. Talk about variety, man I'm giving this place 4 stars mainly because of the huge variety they got here. They got a huge salad bar that seems to go on forever. I think they have a larger variety of items then those of the Las Vegas buffet. The only downside is that they don't have the higher end items that the Las Vegas buffets have like kobe beef and rack of lamb. The turkey was good, it was actually moist unlike most other buffets. The fried scallops were good with tartar sauce. They had regular crab legs and Alaskan crab legs which were both decent. The best came at dessert time, they got a fairly large section, apple cobbler, cheesecake, different types of cookies, etc... They got REAL ICE CREAM, not that imitation stuff from the machines. You can't go wrong with ice cream. The service was good, they kept coming to pick up dishes and refill drinks. As is true for all buffets, eat some fruit or your shit isn't going to come out right! read more

This is a pretty good buffet for the price you pay. I like the layout of the place because it feels very spacious; no bumping into other people's tables or hearing their conversations. Nice and roomy! I'm a big fan of their cutlery area and of their Asian food area. The dessert area is so so. One thing that stands out for me though is their fried chicken. It's about the same fried chicken you get at the cafe next door. Its bad when you walk into buffet and in the middle of the entire restaurant, there is a dessert section. All the yummy cakes, cheesecakes, flan, mousse, ice cream bar! YUMMY! This is what i was waiting for while dinner. The ham was not too salty, and very moist. The popcorn shrimp were really yummy and crunch with the tartar sauce. They had individual chicken pot pies in mini pie crust pants. They weren't so creamy in sauce, and the chicken bits were too big for the serving size itself. The cheesy garlic bread was good. They had chinese fried rice that was too dry. And another "fried rice" that had raisins, bell peppers, corn, other various random things, it was OKAY but they need to lose the raisins! On to the dessert bar, Ice cream bar is the best thing, the strawberry was so yummy with the fudge, it was rich and creamy, and not too sweet! the carrot cake had coconut, but overall very moist and so delicious, the cheese cake frosting was awesome. The flan needed some work, it seemed like it was baked for a lil bit, but it had some mocha in it, and there was not enough caramel sauce for the slices. The chocolate mousse wasn't to sweet, but way to rich for me. TOOOOO RICH. felt like i was eating in a tub of butter. I'd say the crab legs and the prime rib are good and everything else is just a filler. The dessert on the other hand is wooowie. This is a pretty good buffet with good selection of Chinese and American comfort foods. They have a seafood fest on Friday & Saturday dinners, and the buffet price is $25 then. For Sun-Tues, dinner is $18. They are closed Wed & Thu. What I really like about this place is that they will take your drink order. Non-alcoholic drinks are included in the dinner price, and we always like to get the fresh-squeezed orange juice to compliment our meal. The other amazing thing is their dessert selection! It's not just cake and soft-serve, it's the works! They have PECAN PIE, chocolate cake, RAINBOW SHERBERT, cheesecake, and FLAN. I stuff myself with the entrees but there's always room for some dessert. Oh and they have some sugar-free cakes too. The Harvest Buffet was never my favorite among the NorCal casino buffets. I mean, it was decent and offered the standard buffet offerings but nothing spectacular came out of this buffet, well, except for the Macaroni and Cheese, which had the baked on cheese and breadcrumbs on top, which was really good. But lately, as with the other casino buffets, the quality of food has gone down significantly but the prices haven't. During our last visit, they had a good number of chaffing dish stations not in use, but you couldn't tell as they had baskets of dinner rolls covering the space. One or two baskets is sufficient but several baskets are a bit obvious. Other than the Macaroni and Cheese, the only other thing I liked was their Salad Bar, as they offered an abundant amount of toppings, along with chicken, turkey, ham and krab with a "k." Definitely not worth $22.95 for a trip just to the salad bar, or $19.95 with your club card. The service was always spotty, sometimes we would get a good server, but most of the time, we got a grumpy server. Our last server was truly the latter. She was an older lady and I felt sad that she was a little slow and is constantly on her feet but, my sadness disappeared with her bitter attitude. Two times, I have paid nothing because I had a free voucher, and the other time, I signed up for a card and was issued $25 in dining. The food here is very tasty. They have a wide variety of foods. The parentals had comps here so we decided to take advantage of their AYCE crab and prime rib for my brothers birthday tonight. My family was able to skip the long line and walked through a separate members entry line and paid immediately. The cashier told us to wait and someone will be right there to seat us. Long story short, we waited awhile as different hostess' seated other parties. The front seems to be a little unorganized as they were bickering and unsure of their process. When we were finally lead to our table, we immediately hit the buffet. Honestly, I was expecting more. The only real highlights were the snow crab legs, prime rib and beef ribs. I also enjoyed the egg drop soup and the husband said the enchiladas were "hella good", but other than that, the variety of other international dishes didn't look appealing, didn't stand out and/or was meh. Then again, maybe it's because we only had a couple of hours left before the kitchen closed. The dessert section was pretty awesome though. The few items I tried were all really good. My cousin and I signed up and used part of our credit for the Harvest Buffet on a Monday night for $9.99. My local favorite buffet hands down is Thunder Valley's Feast buffet, so Harvest Buffet had some big shoes to fill. Both my cousin and I were kind of disappointed at the lack of quality of the foods and selections. The decor and service was wonderful, but the food being served was not very good. In fact, there was not one single item that stood out that we'd come back to try again. The only benefit of eating at the Harvest Buffet would be if you were just wanting something to fill you up (quantity over quality). But you should know that at Thunder Valley's Feast Buffet, you don't have to sacrifice one for the other. Cache Creek is closer in location to visit than Thunder Valley, so this buffet would be a good quick fix. The price between Thunder Valley and Cache Creek's buffet differ by a few dollars but is so worth the extra money and drive if the casino buffet is your attraction over gambling. We were on our way home during a road trip. Around dinner time, we were passing by Cache Creek and decided to stop for the dinner buffet. After a long drive, no cooking for us when we got home! It was steak and shrimp night at the buffet too! Unfortunately, steak (although prime rib) was the only "steak" and the shrimp as well as most other items, all seemed of low quality. The only thing that I had seconds on, was the sprite. If we stop there again, we'll try one of the other eating options there other than the buffet. Since living in the South Bay, Las Vegas style buffets doesn't really exist around here. The closest thing is Home Town buffet which is just pure crap. When I crave some Vegas style buffet, the first thing that pops into my head is Cache Creek! I will either drag my fiance or friends sometimes just to eat there. Dinner is $25 a person and they have a lot of variety. That have food types from Mexican, Italian, American, Chinese, Indian, Mediterranean, seafood (king crab, cocktail shrimp. etc..,) and more. They also have a large selection of gourmet deserts. The desert to get is the one that looks the simplest. It's a slice of cake with three different layers with different colors for each layer. It's a slice of heaven! Don't bother with those fancy looking desert... I would definitely recommend this place if you crave a good buffet. read more

The Christmas buffet was wonderful, I have had turkey in the past, however, the dry rub used was awesome, one of the moistest turkey I had in a long time. Prime rib cooked to perfection, kale chicken salad was a second helping, pie crust was light and flaky and the sugar cookies definitely need to be a year round item. $9.99 price, $9.99 taste! 2 stars for the food....basically tastes like cafeteria food, but for $9.99, great value! The fried chicken and bbq pork ribs aren't that bad, but the chinese and mexican is definetely not good. The carved turkey, italian sausage and ham are dry and salty. If you are down on luck on the tables and slots, $9.99 for that empty stomach is what you need, but by far the food is not anything to rave about. read more

Casino buffets are hit-or-miss (badly). I have to call this one a hit. Coming from Oregon I think I paid way too much at $32!!... But it was a Friday night and you had to get the seafood buffet. There are worse ways to overspend! But I was pleasantly surprised. The prime rib roast was boring, but still moist, relatively fresh, and edible. But where this buffet sparkled was in the unexpected places. The ethnic foods especially. And the fish. The salmon, for example, was really good (for a buffet). Cooked to absolute perfection, crisp and candy-like on top, not crumbling, and not gooey on the bottom, a light, meaty salmon with a mild sweet lemon aftertaste. Enchiladas were seasoned perfectly. Impressive. Chinese BBQ pork chops just-rightly sauced and cooked well. I cannot stand it when things are undercooked, and nothing was. Even the cheese-covered broccoli used real cheese and was not too crunchy. No insulting short-cuts. The desserts are all right out of the in-house bakery, with an incredible assortment of real treats, and the portions are thankfully modest. I opted for the carrot cake as I had been tempted to get a huge piece to take home earlier for $5. Was not disappointed. No giant, annoying chunks of nut, just a smooth, foody professional carrot cake confection, with very subtle hints of coconut and raspberry. I understand that if you're a shellfish eater, it might be worth the $32 price (which does include bottomless non-alc drinks) but despite the bloated cost, they at least deliver a good number of solid choices that won't leave you with regrets afterwards. Come hungry! As casino buffets go, maybe it doesn't compare to Vegas, but I think you'll travel a long way to find one this passable. (Note: Apparently some people managed to get themselves a dining credit of $25 by signing up for the player's club... that would definitely make this a reasonably priced date!) read more

Cache Creek what happened to your buffet?!?! Went there on 4/29/2011 and was disappointed!! Ok, at a lot of the casinos Friday night is seafood night and it used to be seafood night at Cache Creek. Got there and it wasn't the case. So, I'll admit shame on me for not checking and that's no reason to give a bad review. The prices was $9.99 per person not a bad price you might think and it's usually not. I used to be a big fan of Cache Creek's buffet awhile ago but not anymore. The carving station only had turkey, heck at Hometown Buffet they have ham, steak, roast beef. So, I was thinking what the heck?!? Then the choices of food was rather limited as well. Several of the serving stations were covered. Some of the dishes did not look appetizing at all. There was something that said baked chicken that looked more like burnt chicken. I tried their fried chicken and all I can say is BLAND. I had to reach for the salt shaker and I hardly add salt to anything!! Seriously, Hometown Buffet or Golden Corral has more food than what they had that night. I think that's really sad especially when casino buffets usually have a lot of food. I'll admit that we probably should have strolled through the buffet line before paying to eat but, from having eaten at the buffet before we thought that it would be decent and they would have what they used to have minus the crab. Needless to say we won't be going back there any time soon if at all. Both Red Hawk and Thunder Valley are closer and they have better food than what we ate last night. read more

Sadly had a bad experience. Went here for my once every two week cheat meal because I heard that the buffet was really good. Yikes it was rough!!! The food selection was dismal, some of the food was lukewarm, not a good selection or quality of dessert, no bathrooms inside the buffet. And the casino doesn't have refreshment stations throughout like many others to get water. I have been casino buffet hopping and I gotta say, Cache Creek can do a lot better. I was sad to waste a cheat meal here. Best casino buffet in NorCal so far Red Hawk Casino... great selection, good quality, staff goes above and beyond. One bright side about staff at Harvest Buffet at Cache Creek- friendly lady checked us into buffet, and positive smiling lady behind the dessert counter gave me ice cream. read more

Free meal at Cache Creek Buffet! They gave me a free coupon, so I decided to try it out. Biggest mistake of my life! The only thing good there? LOL! The glass of water! Please don't be cheap! Hire professional chefs to do the job and make sure they are qualified! Don't hire anybody and give them a white apron. The food is disgusting, just plain nasty! It was not edible, not even pigs, dogs or animals would eat it! I rather let my stomach growl than eat that nasty food. You know what? Top Ramen taste better than the buffet! Most of the food was lukewarm including soup and other sections of the buffet. Not a lot of selections or variety, it is very limited! You go there, and the waitress are just standing there chit-chatting. Is that customer service and you expect a tip when it's a buffet? If you don't believe how nasty the food is?
