Love this place! The food is great, customer service is amazing and [[HIGHLIGHT]]they have live music[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]! Thursday is dollar burger night and they have all sorts of specials!

Found this spot by chance. We were leaving the craps tables and wanted to stop for lunch on the way home. Hopped on yelp, and it was 2 miles away! We have driven by it so many times and I never noticed it, I don't know how, but I didn't. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We chose to sit outside in the enormous patio area. Lawn and a stage and an outdoor bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place gets fun at night I imagine![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had the one way hot pastrami and the cheesesteak. They were out of onion rings, I was sad. The crosscut fries were good but they weren't onion rings;) Service was fine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dog friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lots of parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Country music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots to look at decor wise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will be back to try those onion rings and who knows maybe a show. Get this- Thursdays they have $1 burgers and $1 fries!!

I enjoyed their food so much i forgot to take pictures of the actual food. Their cobb salad was AMAZING! Worth every penny. They do have something going on almost daily. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere is great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Super friendly staff. Drinks were supe strong. Def will be back. On thursday they had specials of 1$ burger and fries or 5$ for fries burger and 2ribs. So worth it and was super tasty!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Classic American type of place- unpretentious, come as you are and just enjoy yourself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We have been here multiple times, when I first learned how to ride a motorcycle, this was my first "road trip" destination. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a full bar, a huge outside space suitable for large groups or small ones. There's also a stage outside for events.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have just realized I have never been actually inside - the servers come outside to you. There is an inside seating area from what I can tell but the outside is so nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My most recent visit the server France took care of us. She has been here since my first visit and does a good job taking care of her customers. She didn't bat an eye when I asked for my sauce on the side and extra lettuce for my sandwich instead of a bun. Very cool of her to accept my picky- ness and not make me feel bad for my requests. The bloody Mary's were so cool! Look at their little faces the benefit of a Bloody Mary is to have a snack and Road Trip provides just that! Good mix and a nice drink with a healthy amount of nibbles inside. My sandwich was good and Paul's fish and chips were delicious. The homemade ranch *perfect* Thanks France and thanks Road Trip! See you again.

Two burger combos and a side of $1 burger and fries for the baby

Went here on Thurs to try the $1 fries and burgers. Great for our kids meals . We also had excellent burgers. The waitress was nice enough to give my baby a one house onesie

This huge draught beer is about 32 ounces of frosty deliciousness!

We took a drive up to north Yolo County and found this place by accident. What a find! [[HIGHLIGHT]]For starters, the place looks super retro cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And every person working there was so nice and really helpful. Our waitress was excellent and the food was off the charts delicious. I ordered a draught beer and was asked "Regular or tall?" Naturally, I said tall. It was a massive frosty mug. It reminded me of a beer in a Bavarian beer hall. The smoked brisket was hands down the best BBQ beef sandwich I've ever had. I'm comparing it with the very best I've had in Texas, Kansas City, Tennessee or down in the Deep South. These guys have set the bar high! My wife had a Cobb salad that was equally perfect with the house made ranch. It was about an hour's drive and we will absolutely go back. They have live music and a $1 burger special on Thursday evenings during the summer...can't wait.

    The very funky exterior

3.5 star rating This funky off the beaten trail type 'roadhouse' is eclectic, fun, and quite an interesting place for a meal. It is rather large, with indoor and outdoor seating. Coming at lunch, the place had a lot of business. We sat outdoors as the weather was quite pleasant. There's a variety of seating, and we settled into a long picnic table with chairs that could handle quite a few people. Menus were brought right away, and the highlight was the service - very friendly, personable, and accommodating. Plus, it is efficient for both the kitchen and getting served. They are really on top of it here. The menu is fairly standard lunch fare, with primarily burgers, sandwiches, and salads. I chose the One Way Hot Pastrami sandwich with my choice of onion rings. This was washed down with a root beer in a large disposable tumbler. The sandwich was just OK and very difficult to eat. I had to fork and knife most of it. There was no way to pick it up. It was essentially an open face sandwich. The pastrami seemed fresh and was overwhelmed by a lot of melted Munster cheese and miscellaneous toppings, including mustard. The onion rings suffered in that it was mostly a lot of breading and not much onion. I decided I should have had a salad instead. The food was tasty enough yet basic and ordinary. The whole thing came in a plastic basket, and it felt a bit like a throwback to 50s and 60s fast food joints. I might stop again if I get back in the area, but I would look to another option on the menu.

    Homemade Potato Salad

Easy 5 stars! Out exploring and wanted to find a place with real hamburgers. Found it and more. The Spare Tire Burger, med rare, was perfect in taste and presentation. It was really the best I have had a long time. Homemade potato salad on the side with iced tea made outside patio seating on a warm but lovely day just the best. By the way, there is a good amount of indoor seating around the bar. Walls inside are well balanced with a lot of things to look at. Outside there is a very large patio with lots of shade. My server yesterday was attentive and never short with more ice tea. THANKS!

Decided to try this place out as we were in the area and had passed it by a few times. While Coming out this a few times. Cute place with outside seating and a little store attached to the restaurant. We sat at the bar and ordered the zucchini straps and a Club sandwich. Service was pretty good as we just sat on the bar. The lady took good care of us.

    Our group!

This place is awesome. We showed up with a large group of 35 people. The menu of items is large, and the service was unbelievably fast and efficient. I ordered a pastrami sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was very tasty. Others ordered breakfast, and others assorted lunch items. The servers worked with precision to make sure our group was taken care of. This was a memorial stop for the Sacramento Harley Owners Group paying tribute to our director. This place has a colorful decor and oozes with rich local history. This is one of those "must try" kind of places. Warm and friendly vibe to this place. Winner!!!

Hog Canyon Cafe in Esparto, CA…read more A few months ago, on a lazy Spring Saturday I took a leisurely drive to the Capay Valley. Beautiful valley views, rolling hills. Wineries, olive tasting. And even a casino. Our drive took us on Route 16 that cuts through the small but mighty town of Esparso, CA. Population of about 3500. Hog Canyon Cafe sits right on Route 16 in the town. The cafe is small n cozy. Basic interior. Older building. I got to meet the owner, young man. As we spoke to him, I can tell he was passionate about cooking and the community. Luv that! The menu centers around burgers and pizza. They serve bbq smoked tri tip sandwiches. But aw shucks they sold out when we dropped in. Instead we ordered a cheeseburger and a hamburger. Mmmm. Those were mighty tasty. Substantial sized patties that were hand formed.Fat patties cooked so they are drippy, juicy. Classic. Messy but worth it. Topped with fresh fixings. We ordered at the counter and sat outside on the patio. Simple setup. Inside dining is cozy and limited. At the time we were there, the dining area was set up for a private birthday party. Kids pizza party! Aww. Local community gathering spot.

The Flower Barn is located on a beautiful property where you can also enjoy brunch, host a wedding, or explore the garden grounds, all of which seem worth experiencing on their own. As someone who loves creative activities, this was an experience I would highly recommend. Walking into the Flower Barn felt like stepping into a magical storybook cottage. Dried flowers hung from the ceiling and lined the walls, creating an incredibly aesthetic and charming atmosphere. It is definitely a place where you will want to take photos. We were welcomed by Sandra, who was sincere, warm, and genuinely caring. She provided helpful guidance throughout the workshop and was wonderful to talk to. She would often bring over additional flowers that matched the look and feel I was going for, which made the experience feel very personal. You are able to make your bouquet as large or as small as you like, as long as it fits inside the provided metal container. The hospitality extended beyond just Sandra. The owner and Kim, the social media manager, were also very welcoming and happy to answer any questions we had. It felt like everyone there truly cared about making the experience special. At the end of the workshop, you bring your finished bouquet in the metal container to Sandra, and she carefully wraps it in paper and ties it with a ribbon. That final touch made the whole experience feel even more thoughtful and complete. Overall, I highly recommend this workshop not only for the creative joy of working with dried florals, but also for the genuine kindness and hospitality shown throughout the event. I will definitely be back to create another bouquet or try one of their other activities.
