I will have to take it for pretty much FOREVER to regulate a blood pressure issue (vasovagal syncope). Asked to schedule the appt w the FNP. Turns out she left the practice last December. Ok, that's fine.. whoever is available as this should be a simple check up. I was told that I had not been seen since last June, and that my rx should have been denied after the FNP left the practice. Well, I haven't been sick enough to need a doctor (I'm self pay, so unless I'm on my death bed, I'll figure it out), and CVS had the rx for a year and there hasn't been an issue. I was told that the current Drs of the practice weren't accepting new patients at this time. I asked how that information applied to me as I have been going there for 8 years Basically, no one will accept an appt to see me there and I have about a week to figure it out before the medication runs out So today, on my one day this week to rest, I get to go up to urgent care and explain all of this.. HOPEFULLY, they can look back into their records and see I have listed this medication every time I've been there in the past and prescribe a month's worth until I find a new doctor. I'm completely blown away that this is an ok thing to do... not once was I notified my prescribing Dr had left, that I needed to schedule an appt with someone still IN the practice, or that I needed to begin looking for a new Dr. And the woman on the phone asked if I was calling about ADDERALL (with annoyance in her voice). No, ma'am.. it's ATENOLOL, and if I go without it long enough maybe one time I won't wake up after a fainting episode I'd say "DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE", but they wont actually see you anyway, so... ‍
