    Freezing at Harvey's.

We got tickets to a comedy show for tonight. Awesome! We'll make it a date night. We'll go out to dinner then off to the show. We'll, we learned a lesson. DON'T PLAN DINNER OUT ON THE SATURDAY NIGHT AFTER VALENTINES DAY!! Every place we went had a 49 minute minimum wait time. So we decided to grab a burger and go. We chose Harvey's. I got the Ultimate burger, onion rings and pop. Hubby got the same. We grabbed a seat in the back, took off our jackets and dug in. The burger were just fine. Typical Harvey's. My complaint? IT WAS FRICKIN' FREEZING IN THERE!!!! I can't stress this enough. It was so cold that I was shivering. I had to put my jacket back on and zip it up. Finally we packed up and went and ate in the car. Come on guys, can't you put a bit of heat on so your customers can take off their winter jackets? Seriously?

You know the days that you just want something that is not considered all that healthy for you. Well my sin is Harvey's. My partner is really not a big fan of them, but hey I am. When I go I always get the classic cheeseburger with fries. Tip If and when I go to a fast food location I always ask to have my fries with no salt, why you ask. Well I will tell you reason being is that so they are fresh and hot and not under a heat rack. At Harvey's they tell me they do not salt their chips but I always ask for fresh hot fries. I fell that it is a right of a paying consumer to request that from any location. So it's time to top my cheeseburger with all the fresh toppings that are available. Everything except relish and onions with extra hot peppers. Being the dare devil that I am I have veered off the menu and tried other things like the veggie burger which was pretty good as well. Stop on by Harvey's on Kemp road and try their burgers as they are as close as you are going to get to a BBQ in your backyard for under $19 bucks.

Very poor service. I could have talked to the manager but I gave the young server a pass... :(

They've got a great selection of craft beers and cocktails--I went with the Purple Haze and really enjoyed it. Refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet. For food, I ordered the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich, and wow--it was incredible. Super flavourful, perfectly cooked, and impressively held together even with the runny (and delicious) egg on top. My wife went with the New Orleans pasta, and we were really impressed by how accommodating the kitchen was with her dietary restrictions. They happily swapped out the chicken and ham for shrimp, and the dish still came out beautifully done. You can tell the chef really loves what they do--it absolutely shows in the quality and care of the food. It's easy to see why this place is a local favourite. Great vibe, great service, and fantastic food and drinks. Highly recommend!

The mixed seafood platter included a lobster claw perfectly boiled so it was fully cooked but still juicy--not rubbery as at many other places. The scallop was well-seared and nicely seasoned so as to add flavor but not to take away any natural scallop flavor. The shrimp were properly cleaned and sautéed just as taught in the culinary school I attended. And the risotto that acted as the bed for serving was rich and creamy. The different sauces added to each portion of the risotto holding the various delicacies added joyful surprises for the tastebuds. The cheesecake was marvelous and would have won the contest for best dessert of the trip, but it barely lost to Five Fishermen's PBJ Ganache, which won for its heavenly offering of chocolate Service provided by Kevin and his trainee Dan was friendly but not intrusive and entirely correct. The restauran's decor was welcoming and conducive to good conversation.

While the roll itself was small, the lobster salad mix was fresh and tasty. While I generally prefer fresh lobster off the shell with melted butter for my lobster rolls, the one I got from the Old Triangle Irish Alehouse was not bad at all. The Caesar salad, on the other hand, was absolutely phenomenal. I love how every piece of lettuce was well covered in the dressing, served with some of the tastiest croutons I've had. I did not expect that at all. The server was friendly. I also really enjoyed the live music.
