Harveys does make my favorite burger....I just wish they had faster service and wifi - this is why I don't go there as often.

They've got a great selection of craft beers and cocktails--I went with the Purple Haze and really enjoyed it. Refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet. For food, I ordered the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich, and wow--it was incredible. Super flavourful, perfectly cooked, and impressively held together even with the runny (and delicious) egg on top. My wife went with the New Orleans pasta, and we were really impressed by how accommodating the kitchen was with her dietary restrictions. They happily swapped out the chicken and ham for shrimp, and the dish still came out beautifully done. You can tell the chef really loves what they do--it absolutely shows in the quality and care of the food. It's easy to see why this place is a local favourite. Great vibe, great service, and fantastic food and drinks. Highly recommend!

Bonus to add: I had my extremely large extra piece of fish - since they only do 2 piece not one, in my fridge for like 2 days - put it in the air fryer to cook/ crisp up- still amazing no joke!

It does really matter what chef is on I prefer to have a lot more veggies and so when they cut back on the veggies I'm like okay what night is the other chef on lol because sometimes the dish looks awesome and full of chicken and veggies.. last night was a little on the ration side but it was still tasty with the soup and salad

Called the restaurant at 9:15'ish to place an order, nobody would answer. Called a few more times, nobody would answer. Decided to make the drive there, when we got there at 9:30, the host walked over and told us the kitchen is closed and walked away before we could even say thanks. Felt rude... Couple nights later decided to give it another try and called hours earlier, success. The food itself was pretty much a let down. We read fried Pepperoni was a thing halifax is known for and they had it on the menu, however, it was almost like jerky. Hard, dry, etc, don't order it! We through it out. The hostess seemed confused when we asked for the burger to be cooked medium and couldn't understand what we were asking for. Anyways, it came out as a hockey puck. Black bean burger was advertised to have avocado slices on it but came with guacamole instead. The Ruben sandwich was the only one that got an ok. The food down the street with the golden arches would have been a better meal honestly.

Sometimes you go somewhere without a clue what to expect and you leave feeling disappointed…read more.. This is not one of those times. As a pre-show get together for the Canada Heritage moments at the Carbon Arc (note to self: remember that review too), Meegan and I met some fellow yelpers here for some nosh and wine. We were the first to arrive (around 5ish) and if I can give anyone a little piece of advice about going to check this place out for the first time let it be this - that was the perfect time to be there. There were only a few patrons inside so we were able to get some great service (both fast and super friendly). As it is a music bar and grill they seem to have an extensive list of upcoming events but when we went all was quiet. While the menu can seem a little pricey we happened to go in during happy hour (4-6). Appetizers are 2 for 1, house wine $5 = Happy Tara! There seems to be a lot of talk about the grilled cheese sandwich this place serves up but Meegan and I opted to for the lamb lollipops ($10ish), the torpedo shrimp ($9ish but remember we were there for happy hour) and then shared the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich with Avocado ($11ish). It was plenty of food for the both of us and I really thought everything was very good. The house red was nothing to shake a stick at either (and three glasses later it was even better). I loved the look of the place. Dark wood and plenty of seating without feeling like you're bumping into one another. Located on the corner of Argyle and Prince it's looks to be an awesome place to hang out especially on the patio during the summer. If you go let me know how the grilled cheese sandwich is.

The staff here are chipper, genuine, and on the ball as well. For vegans the frites are THE BEST FRIES IN THE CITY. HANDS DOWN. Those long, skinny, salty sticks of deliciousness would grace my palate thrice weekly in my own personal foodie heaven. Also, the spinach salad with the pecans, mango, and ginger soy dressing will not disappoint. It is flavourful and filling, and I would bet that it's also gluten free ! Bonus points :D I always ask how the other dishes are when I hear someone has recently gone to The Carleton. I have heard nothing but enthusiastic reviews of the other more carnivorous dishes they offer. The best part at The Carleton is truly the music. Everyone is politely denied the use of their chatterboxes while the performer(s) are doing their thing. This way everyone wins, we are all graced with auditory perfection and love it all the more. Heck, there are even great speakers in the bathrooms so if you have to visit in the middle of a show you won't miss a beat! Genius! I appreciate how particular The Carlton is when they choose their musical performers. It seems clear that anyone who graces that beautiful stage is the cream of the crop. I love buying random tickets for artists I have never heard of before because it always blows my mind and I walk away at the end of the evening with a new favourite! All in all, if you haven't gone- GO. If you're humming and hawwing about going again- YOU'RE SILLY. Just buy the ticket and dedicate yourself to an awesome evening at The Carleton!
