If your favorite grocery store is Kroger and there isn't one in your area, go to Harvey's! I was visiting my parents and the nearest Kroger is 50 miles away. I was like no I'm driving to Americus. The deli, fruits and veggies are on the right side of store. Everything was clean, organized and stocked. Everything was available I shopped for. Cashiers were all friendly. Social distancing was enforced - staff did not wear masks or gloves. Maybe it wasn't required. I was there at 9:30 AM it wasn't busy. Majority of the customers were Senior Citizens. And this could be due to the time of morning. Most Seniors are out early... If you have a Harvey's card use it to save. The card is similar to Kroger's card. Nifty supermarket near americus... Fresh foods and produce and meats and more. Some excellent sales and discount items and aisles. Beer and wine available. Not as large of a place as some other "chain" grocery store, but everything one needs is here, fresh, and for a fair price. read more

Not a nice place to visit. One person stocking was having an inappropriate conversation about a female and would not move so I could get through. Today when I was waiting in line, the cashier had an extended conversation with the person in front of me who was asking for a discount because she forgot her Harvey's card or something. The cashier scanned her personal card, although I was going to offer mine. When it was my turn to pay, I gave the clerk my Harvey's card and she confiscated it saying, "People have been trying to get this $10 discount when we don't give anything like that." After I paid for my groceries, I told her I did not have another card, and all she said "Sorry" and left the counter to check on something at customer service and came back with my card saying, "Yeah, I will have to keep this." To which I replied, "If I don't have a discount card, why would I shop here?" The clerk said, "You will always have the same number." "I don't have another card" I said again and walked out. She didn't dispose of my card or anything. I guess she was going to use it for her own purposes. So don't go shop there. You will probably get robbed in the aisles or at checkout. read more
