Harvill's Produce it's a heartfelt place for my family and I. We been coming here for years and have very way to many positive memories to recall. The food, the people, the atmosphere. It's a take back from all this other mayor national and local supermarket brands. I really enjoy the food, quality produce, and affordable prices. A lot of this food it's what comes second choice to all the restaurant in the area. And it comes with subpar service. Luis it's the manager in charge and let me tell you how dedicated this person is. He goes above and beyond to fulfill he's duty regardless of personal setbacks and life occurrences. He never takes it personal and it's always ready to help the next guest. Harvill's Produce it has a definite eye-catching exterior. You can't help but notice the pseudo farm look of the building as you drive down Orange Avenue. Inside is equally as inviting. With produce painted on the walls in a bright look. The staff is equally friendly and add to the overall experience. I guess why it is only getting four stars instead of five is that they do not have a great selection. It is rather limited. And while some things are well priced, some things are exorbitantly priced. For instance, they wanted almost seven dollars for a head of cauliflower. Still, this is a good place to come check out and you can find some good deals. Unfortunately, the location size has been reduced to half what it was: I think initially because of Covid and then they just stated that way. There is no longer a large variety of fruit and veggies; but, the main staples were there and everything was fresh. So if you want the basics, this is your place: bananas, apples, pears, watermelon, lettuce, cucumbers, green leafy veggies, etc. they also have an extensive array of honey options. read more

While visiting Orlando we ran across this place and decided on picking up a few pieces of local fruit. It boasts being in business since 1949. The fascade is a charming barnlike structure but when you walk in it's a huge, super clean warehouse with a small area for the public. Not as much produce as I had imagined from the size of the building but we got the tastiest strawberries for a good price! read more

Harvill's has been in business since 1949. They supply produce to many of the restaurants in the area but they also have a retail market. The market looks like a big red barn, which I find charming and makes it easy to find. Inside you will find a good selection of common produce. Prices are very good. Staff is friendly. They also have specialty items based on season that are less common. On my trip today they had muscadine and scuppernong grapes and fresh horseradish root. Produce is the main focus but they do carry eggs, cheese, frozen fish and veggies, and things like honey and dried beans. What a happy accident finding this place the other day! I was actually driving around lost (just a little bit lost) and saw this place on the side of the street. I thought, "Hey! I've seen the building from the 528 going to the airport. I "impulse pulled in" when I saw the words RETAIL and PRODUCE. I'm always searching for good produce as some of the big name grocery stores have been a bit "iffy" lately with theirs. Not only that, the prices seemed to have shot up in the last couple of years. As soon as I walked in, I was in love. Everything looked clean and beautiful. What was even more beautiful were the prices!! Not one, but two heads of cauliflower for $5.00. I just paid that the week before for only one. $.39 per pound for bananas? Yes and thank you! Affordable produce that is in the best shape possible. How did I miss this place all of this time? Not only was the selection fantastic, but everyone in there was exceedingly nice and helpful. This energy was buzzing along the customers too. It just felt good in there. I'm thinking its because people were buying real food and real good prices. This is how it should be! After purchasing my bounty, I took photos at home and sent them to my friends to let them know about this place. Its too awesome not to share. I'm also a very lucky lady to live close so its totally worth the trip for me to load up on weekly produce. As for the location, its off to the side of 528 (next to Rachel's ... different kind of place for different kinds of melons.) So, you will know exactly where it is if looking for it. Best produce here and wonderful customer service. Shopping here if you mainly want high quality produce and do not mind the drive to the Taft area. You should call first if you have any specific produce you want, as the store does not have a lot of variety because the focus is on the produce. However, Harvill's focus on produce is what makes this place excellent. Besides whole produce, store also has whole raw legumes, local honey, salad dressings, pre-washed salad greens, eggs, cheese, frozen vegetables, and some frozen seafood. They have some chocolate candies, yogurt pretzels, dried fruits, nuts, frozen fruit bars, and some seasonings too. Harvill's has been my favorite produce store for about a year since I've been going, because it's quieter, spacious, and organized there. Consistent friendly customer service. One time, I had a baby potatoes packaged on styrofoam and covered in plastic. Before the sell by date, the potatoes had sprouts. The store manager kindly let me exchange them without a receipt because he said that the potatoes clearly were not good ones and I did not open the package. Thank goodness he and the cashier were kind because I lost the receipt! I love that Harvill's let you re-use their very sturdy cardboard boxes if you forget your own bag. That's a free and eco-friendly option! The staff also offers to push your cart for you after you stuff your car with the beautiful gems of nature. The location is in an industrial area, and I think it has recently opened to the public. If I recall correctly, restaurants get their produce from produce, so Harvill's must ensure top quality produce and dry goods! After attending a community yard sale at the Taft Community Center, I decided to stop at Harvill's Produce on South Orange Avenue. And if I am in the area again, I will stop in here to shop. The quality of the produce is great. And the prices are even better! I bought a flat of 2.5 white extra large eggs for $1.59. With a head of romaine lettuce and a jumbo yellow onion, my total came up to $3.18. Having shopped earlier in the week, I did not need much. But with the prices Harvill's Produce has, I would shop for all of my produce here if I lived closer and stock up on my fruits and veggies. Harvill's Produce also has a small section of dairy items, such as milk and cheese. And there is a freezer of frozen vegetables for sale, along with a small selection of frozen fish and seafood. The aisles are wide, the produce displays are well stocked, and the store is clean throughout. The service and the check-out employees are friendly and helpful. My cashier, Yarielis, got a small box for me so I could carry my flat of eggs to my car with ease. There is even a small ice cream counter with a few tables to the right of the store as you enter. I will have to get a cone on my next visit. And if you need a pumpkin for your Halloween display out on the front patio, stop in and check out their selection of pumpkins. Great selection of fruits and vegetables that are in season. They do have some items at the same price as the regular supermarket, no deal there. They had a great selection of apples! Buy what's in season and save! I also found some fresh herbs and honey!
