Upon entering there is the hot food bar in the front of the store area. The store also contains breads, bagged snacks, packaged coffee, beverages, sauces and a frozen foods section in the back. Since I am a coffee lover I purchased a pack of coffee. It was called Kopiko brown coffee. It is coffee plus brown sugar and it comes in individual packets which is very convenient. I was concerned that the coffee may be too sweet but it actually wasn't. It is very tasty! I wanted to try some of the food so I got a combo platter. This came with rice or noodles and 2 meats. I got rice with some adobo chicken and some type of pork shoulder. (I should have written the name down), and I purchased 2 lumpia. Everything was delicious. I really loved the lumpia. I was so excited to try the food that I didn't take a picture. So to fix that, I went back another day and had to get more lumpia. I also bought a package of chicken lumpia from the frozen section to have some at home for a snack. I got another combo platter as well. This time I got the noodles (which I believe is called pancit), steak and a different type of pork shoulder. I totally fell in love with the pancit. SO yummy. The beef and pork were tender and flavorful. I like that the food is prepared fresh and that there are different options every time which allows you to try a variety of things. The staff there are so friendly and helpful because I had a lot of questions and they were great with explaining things. This is definitely a great local Filipino market.

Park to Shop in Westmont had the best grocery carts I have found in all of Chicagoland area. Their carts were at a much more comfortable height than I have found at other stores. Their grocery carts were also more mobile and versatile than other grocery carts that I have used, making it easier to move around the store and to do shopping. It looked like they had great options for food. I saw a lot of different options for tofu. The staff seemed nice when I first went there.

The store was immaculate and well-stocked. They offered several brands of the item I was looking for. I couldn't leave the store without checking out their bakery department and treated myself a mile-high chocolate cake. It was the highlight of the visit. The cake was heavenly. The store shares an enormous parking lot with other businesses. I will definitely spend more time in the store on my next visit to see what else I can find.

Poorly managed carts fly around the lot at very high speed and one of them hit someone's car. They declined to give their insurance info and offered to pay out of pocket instead. The whole time, they ignored my emails and stalled the process until I mentioned court. The manager and owner, Dimitris Svigos and Jonathan Svigos, agreed to reimburse my expenses in the end. But once I gave them the invoices, they ignored me completely and stopped responding. They make this difficult for you on purpose, simply because they can. UPDATE: I filed a small claims case. These two geniuses (one of them with an MBA) let it escalate, and they ended up agreeing to pay triple what we agreed to at first. Brilliant financial decision from the MBA. Then they started looking for excuses not to pay again and decided to hire a lawyer too, instead of just paying and getting it over with. It was another brilliant move from MBA. They also claim they never had authorization to agree to any payment, because the store actually belongs to their parents. So apparently Jonathan, Partner and VP of the store with an MBA, can't handle a small claims case without asking his daddy for permission I'll keep you posted.

The location is extremely convenient. The minute you walk out of the Kedzie Brown Line stop you make a right and you're there. There's parking, which is good to know. The grocery store is huge and has a variety of Middle Eastern and Turkish goods. I bought several cheeses, from Kashkaval to Halloumi and most importantly my Labne! The meat looked extremely fresh, but I wasn't going to risk dragging it on the train with me all the way back to downtown, but I'll definitely keep that in mind if I drive back there. The isles are organized and neat. There's also a mini bakery in the store and it has delicious sweets and lots and lots of fresh bread. They also have the famous Middle Eastern Mankushe (thyme and cheese flavors)! I wanted to buy so many more things but there's only so much I can carry with me. And yes, in case you didn't know, while it's called "International", all those nations are in Asia. We come here mainly for two things - either getting ingredients to make hot pot at home, or just eating hot pot here. They also have dry pot, which my wife and I really like as an option. You grab a basket and fill it with whatever veggies you want, then a separate one and fill it with proteins, then you pay by the weight. You can either get it hot pot style in a big bowl of hot broth, or dry pot where they cook it in the broth but serve your food already cooked. As far as the grocery selection, they have a big seafood selection and a decent butcher area. Also a lot of Asia snacks and frozen selection, and a small liquor section too. Produce is fine. But if you're making hot pot at home, they have the sliced meat, soup base, sauces, and a little frozen fish ball self-serve area. If you don't want to eat hot pot here, they serve other Asian hot dishes, and there's a bubble tea spot and bakery here, but I haven't tried anything else besides the hot pot. Sense a trend yet? It's not as big as Joong Boo, and it's bigger than the current H Mart for now but will be interesting to see how the new one compares. Overall it's a fine grocery store and we'll come back when that craving for mala spice strikes.
