He is great and very kind and attentive. c) I cracked a tooth eating and the crack almost went right into the root. Dr Alethway did everything he could to save it and successfully did so. The tooth needed a root canal and crown, and the root canal was great expert work. If you need a root canal go here! Heck if you need anything go here. Now the crown was determined to be leaking by another dentist at my next cleaning (in the US). This happens ALL THE TIME. Plus, it was a very hard situation to get this crown on the tiny remainder of a tooth. Dr Alethway was quick to offer me an option to either get a refund on the work or to come in and have it fixed. Unfortunately, I am in the US at the moment so cannot go in. But I would in a heart beat. He followed through on his offer and I hope to return to him as soon as I am back in Van. I always had my cleaning with Danielle who was polite, patient and always took the time to chat with me and answer any questions I had. This time, I had cleaning with Dr. Ho's assistant, caucasian, short hair, who had a very negative demeanor the moment she greeted me. I felt very uncomfortable right from the start as her attitude was poor, no smile. She seemed disinterested in her job the whole time which was unprofessional. While she was giving me an x-ray, she snapped on me when I did not understand her instructions right away. She did not care to try explaining from a different approach. I had not taken an x ray in YEARS for me to remember the process, but I felt almost as if she had something against me. Her impatience pushed me beyond to the point I left after on the spot. I was infuriated and upset because no one should ever be making you feel this way during your monthly cleaning and check ups. My father reported this rudeness as well. Dr Ho did not sound like he understood me because he responded with "its nothing personal" and your taking this too far. He acted as if it was not a big deal. One negative experience really ruins it for me. Empathy was at its lowest. I wont be back. If possible even, I would probably give this place a no star.

These women know their stuff. And they're kind, and patient. I'm a total dentist-phobe from some past bad experiences. But Galia and her lovely staff have really turned that around. I also get my Botox done by Galia, and I'm a devotee! She has such an artful hand with that stuff, nobody believes I have had it done. At first they were great with the cleaning services, xrays, etc. (we have full dental insurance) Then I schedule my visit for a cavity I had. Upon my arrival, the nurse proceeded to ask me if I had seen the rubber dental dam before, which I told her ya, about 10 yrs ago. Then she put that medieval contraption on me (so painful every time she inserted the latex in between my teeth with a thick dental floss) PLUS another rubber square thing to keep my teeth open so far back in my mouth I could feel my tonsils touching it. Needless to say, between that and the latex in my mouth and my inability to swallow my own saliva, i was literally chocking to death! Also, they set up the chair in a semi inverted position where my head was lower than my feet, making it impossible to swallow. The anesthesia the dr. put, did not work well, so on top all that stress add the fact that I could feel the pain (she had to add another injection mid work). The minute the dr was done I told her exactly what my experience was all about and asked her to either not use those contraptions on me next time or I was done. She said they are required by law? or something to use them. LIE. I Strongly disagree, I've had my teeth worked on (same treatment) in the US (Los Angeles, New York, Seattle), Spain, Peru, Brazil and NEVER have I had such a traumatizing experience. All these dentists were great at isolating saliva with cotton balls etc. clean work, all the time. I WOULD NEVER PUT A CHILD THROUGH THIS!!! My daughters had treatments in Los Angeles 6 months ago, and the pediatric doctors there did not use those contraptions. Its almost like those straight jackets crazy dentists use to put on kids.... The dentist and all the other staff are very friendly and make you feel very comfortable. I go there for routine cleaning, they always make sure to follow up with you if its been more than 3 or 4 months since your last clean up. They are not pushy, just gentle reminders which I appreciate. The past weekend I had a massive toothache so I contacted them on a Saturday and they got back to the same day and gave me an appointment for that Monday. When I went in for the check up, they said I needed an emergency root canal and got me in the very next day at another clinic. The MOA called around 4-5 dental centres trying to get me in, really appreciated her efforts. Best part, they direct bill to your insurance company which saves you a lot of the time! Would definitely recommend them for your dental work.

Our family works with 2 hygienists for cleanings, Viktoriya and Kelly, both are top notch and work with extreme attention to detail! I have recently completed phase 1 of a tooth implant process. It happens to be one of my very front teeth and you can imagine how vulnerable that might make you feel. Dr. Kwong is the dental surgeon that did the procedure and I was nothing less than blown away at how easy and painless it all was. I experienced virtually no pain during or after the procedure. There was very little swelling and absolutely no bruising. At the moment I am fitted with a temporary tooth as the grafting takes place, I will get my permanent implant in July. I'd say he is extremely good at what he does. And I would also have to mention the women who run administration, Michelle and Karolina. Awesomely competent and well organized, super friendly too. As is everyone in the office! Karolina was also the assistant during my implant surgery and she was fantastic! This is an office that runs top to bottom like a high end and well oiled machine. I've had bad experiences as a kid/teenager. For weeks, and hours leading up to the appointment, I was getting anxiety and my husband reassured me I was in good hands. My first experience was with the front desk, and the young ladies were lovely and genuine. They had my insurance set up; I didn't need to lift a finger. In LESS THAN 12 hours I got my return from Sunlife (benefits company). It was so simple and quick! The actual office is state of the art, quick, and effective. Everything including X-rays are shown up on LCD TVs in front of you so you know what the dentists plan on fixing or improving. I had Kelly as my dental hygenist. She was kind, relatable, understanding, and empathetic. Did I mention she has a great sense of humour? She was professional and made me feel super comfortable. She demonstrates a true passion for her role and her attention to detail was impeccable. She also explained what plaque and tartar was and how it could impact teeth and gums. During the cleaning process I was fighting to stay awake! I was so relaxed I could have taken a nap! She gave me the remote to the TV and I watched TV and relaxed while she did her thing. Normally I would be gripping the edge of the chair in fear. Dr. Ma is very friendly and understanding. She has a great sense of humour and does her best to make her patients feel welcome. You can also see the openness she has with the hygienists and the sense of partnership they share. The experience from beginning to end has really reduced my fear of dentists and have already booked future appointments with anticipation. I am young and wanting to protect my teeth for decades to come. They have really changed my view of someone putting hands and loud gadgets in my face.
