Nina was my dental hygenist and she did an incredible job helping me getting my teeth back to a healthy and beautiful condition. She was extremely thorough and detail oriented and made me feel like an important patient. Dr. Leung was kind and informative when I finally went for a cleaning and to get a broken tooth fixed (beware of popcorn!). It had been quite a long time since I had a dental visit, but this was accepted by the staff and I did not feel judged at all. I had never had a cavity or filling before today, and I was quite nervous about it, but Dr. Leung and the hygienist (whose name I don't recall) were reassuring and answered all my questions about the procedure before going ahead. And it was pretty much a zero-pain experience! After 2.5 years of worrying about my broken tooth, it's fixed. I can't even tell that I have a filling! I'm so impressed, relieved, and grateful. I was a cast member for a documentary on non surgical aging in 2008, Dr Doug restored my entire mouth, where you could see through my teeth.. needed umpteen root canals etc...and the worst yellow ever ... This place is terrible. Not only do they have major booking issues which probably stems from running such a large operation that they can;t keep track of everyone. I've double confirmed apointments with reception only to go in and have them tell me it was the next day. Most recently, I had a receptionist call me for my "12 oclock apointment this Wednesday for fllings?" I never booked an apointment for fillings....I don't even have any cavitites...sorry hun Had a tooth whitening procedure done here. Took the assistant half an hour to find the bleach. Had to call a co worker who was on her day off to find the bleach. Didn't know they had switched to a new brand, took another 15 minutes to read the instructions. I was warned of some tooth sensitivity but not the pain I felt from what I believe was a shoddy whitening procedure. 2 out of the 4 whitening applications in I could feel my gums burning. I had to tell the "assistant" to stop. She tried to tell me it was my teeth that hurt, well I know my own body and it was definetly my gums. Sure enough when she took off the cured gum protector my gums were WHITE and irritated.. 350 $ for the in office whitening and take home kit. She did a mould of my teeth beforehand, and somebody was supposed to create the whitening mould tray WHILE I was getting the in office treatment so I could take it home once I was done there- never happened, had to come back to get it. Specifically told them i'd be back next Tuesday AFTER 5 (because people have jobs) I went in that following Tuesday at 5:30 the receptionist had no idea what was going on. They then took another 15 minutes to go find the moulds (pretty sure they were making them on the spot) only to have the receptionist emerge to give me instructions on how to use the whitening kit. A RECEPTIONIST as far as I am concerned IS NOT a qualified person, to be giving me DENTAL instructions. When they gave me the kit, they said they were "throwing in some whitening gel "for my troubles" little did these people know, the gel is supposed to come with the kit. When I expressed my disatifaction of this they started to give me attitude. So they wern't giving me anything extra, they were just giving me what I paid for, and a horrendously unprofessional and painful experience. Needless to say...I will NEVER book apointments here again...read past reviews of other patients experiences - everything from shoddy billing totals to offensive hygenists accusing patients of being bulimic. read more

I stupidly use to take my kids to monarch at Metrotown until I realized they were making them hate dental care. That place is the worst. Now I'm at the best! I was referred to BSDC and I haven't looked back. They are excellent at what they do and they get you in and out quickly (just be on time & don't be a jerk). There's no way I'm giving ANY dentist more than three stars, but I'll admit that these guys are pretty good. I'd called a couple of dentists around town and with most I waited on hold for 5+ minutes. I called these folks and they quickly booked me an appointment for a Saturday three weeks down the road. I know! A Saturday appointment! That's gold for an office worker, as I then was. They called me to remind me of my appointment the day before, and got me all set up on the paperwork promptly when I arrived. The hygienist was chatty and did all the usually cleaning efficiently and then we waited for the dentist. My thought is there's a pretty big focus on efficiency here because my dentist talked far faster than a normal human being. But he did a good job on my teeth, so it won't be a deterrent to me retuning there. My favorite part is that the hygienist actually flosses for you. I had a colleague who used to rave about how her personal trainer would assist her in stretching after a workout. Well this is the closest thing I can get to solidarity on that. read more

I've been coming to Broadway Station Dental since 2000 when I moved to Vancouver, and I've always left with professionally cleaned teeth and a smile on my face. My schedule is pretty erratic at times so I've had the privilege of meeting a lot of the hygienists that work there and all of them are very good at what they do, and very friendly. I've also gotten my wisdom teeth taken out at this location and the dentist did a superb job. I opted to not be put under, and not only was he very quick but there were no complications at all. In addition, these guys are very good at making sure they remind you about your appointments. This includes an email reminder that can be added to your electronic calendar, and also a follow up call the day before. They are also very easy to deal with when needing to reschedule (either by phone or email). Overall, I love Broadway Station Dental, and even after moving to Richmond, I still make the trek out here to get my regular cleaning and check ups. This is really a wonderful Dentists office. I'm not sure when or why those other reviews were made, but my experience here has been wonderful from start to finish. I moved to Vancouver summer 2012 and stumbled into this office with a horrible infection. Dr. Tullemelo (sp?) fixed me right up and the care was awesome. Then he was injured so I started seeing Dr. Saintonge - who has filled my cavities and is really an exceptional dentist. Finally I saw Dr. Butler for another emergency and was still happy with the experience. I've had five different hygienists, three dentists and experienced interaction with most if not all of the receptionists since switching benefits plans four times - everyone is committed to a positive environment and putting patients first. read more

I've been going to Broadway Dental for about a decade, even after I've moved farther away. Pros: Appointment follow-ups and confirmations, organized billing and claims, good hours, competent dental assistants, TVs in the rooms. They take care of you. Cons: I am often passed around to other dentists due to scheduling, so I haven't actually had a regular dentist for about 5 years. At least all of the dentists are friendly and good at their jobs. Neighbourhood is also a bit sketchy and parking can be hard to get. read more

One of the best things is the staff behind the desks, particularly TINA! She is so thorough and knowledgeable, friendly and helpful...and remembers your name year after year. I've grown to trust that they don't treat your plan, meaning max out your insurance plan as much as they can with low or no priority treatments. Also, they have discounted Sonicare products which is a nice perk, and bill insurance companies directly so you don't have to deal with it! read more

I was given an estimate in July of 2014 for an extensive amount of dental work. The dentist was Dr. Doug Liu and the estimate I was given was for approx $12,000. Over the next 2 years, I underwent the recommended course of treatment during which I was informed that two additional crowns were needed adding $2200.00 to the estimate for a total of $14,000. My concerns began when I totalled my receipts to find that I had paid out $13890.00, despite the scope of work not being completed. Additionally, the work that was completed totally failed within months and needs to be mostly redone. (3 of the 7 new crowns I had done fell out within the first 3 months) Broadway Station Dental Centre then refused to fix it claiming I still owed them an additional $5500.00. If that wasn't enough, they then sent my account to collections , ruining a 10 year perfect credit rating. Don't get me wrong, Dr Liu is a really friendly and personable guy and if you need a cleaning or a single tooth fixed, you'll likely be satisfied. Just don't expect it to last for more than a couple of months. If, like myself, your dental needs are more complicated, avoid this place at all costs! read more

I really liked Dr. Liu when I went here - if I could give him 4-5 stars, I would. However, the one star comes from when I came for a broken filling and he wasn't in, so I was referred to his associate. He began telling me that he never sees tooth erosion like I had unless someone is bulimic (I have never had an eating disorder, I have never had a dentist say this to me in all my 30 years). He was very patronizing even when I assured him that it wasn't the case. I do grind my teeth (I wear a nightguard) and likely have some acid erosion due to wine drinking, but bulimia?) I left pretty upset and puzzled...I switched dentists that day. read more

********WARNING, VERY LONG********* I would like to point out that almost every yelp review is spot on. The bad ones and the good ones. Although the staff is great and friendly, they may become very incompetent once you start asking them many questions. It seems they become impatient (ironic?) the more questions you put out at them. There was one time I was asking about the different coverage of my school's insurance on surgery vs a normal appointment and the front desk started becoming rude in her answers and made it feel like I was expected to know them. The reason I think this happens is because they are so packed with patients all the time and it becomes frustrating to all of them... This brings up another point. This office is going to be jam packed full of patients at any given time. Even if you come in early for your appointment, you're not going in until 30+ mins later. And once you're in, you're mostly going to sitting and waiting for another 15+. I don't know how their booking system works but they need to plan their "back-to-back" scheduling accordingly... The final point comes from my mom who was a patient here. She came in for a root canal to be done. After the procedure, she noticed slight pain and numbness in that tooth. We had to schedule an appointment for it to be fixed which we did, and the dentist reshaped the tooth a little cause he thought it was not comfortably fitted. Another week goes by and there's still pain, so we schedule another appointment, this time with a specialist that the doctor recommended. Turns out, it was a bacterial infection from the previous procedure that is causing this under the tooth. In order to get it fixed, a procedure needs to be done with the specialist, and this was going to cost money $$$$. We notified our dentist, and we asked him if he will cover it, and he said he will cover it with the exception of a $300 material fee that we will be charged for. We couldn't believe what we were hearing! First of all, it was close to impossible to find any appointments with our dentist prior, because they were always "booked", and it's already hard enough for my mom to get off work for this. And secondly, the bacterial infection was caused by the procedure, which the dentist should have prevented by proper practice and procedure. Thirdly, making us pay any cost for something that is not our fault is absurd. I asked around with some friends and colleagues who are currently taking dental courses or in the medical field, and they recommend that we take action against this malpractice. I will most likely be sending the board of dentists a letter for malpractice if the procedure will not be FULLY covered by the dentist in this office. read more

I have to start by saying that I've just come back from this Broadway dentist and I've had THE WORSE DENTAL experience ever! I've never in my life have written a single review about a business but I really wanted to let everyone know how bad the services are at this place. The first time I went to this place to get my fillings I was told that I needed a clean up. After the clean up I was told that my plan didn't cover it and that they would have to charge me. However I explained to them that I was not going to pay that since I'd already told them that I wanted to use my insurance coverage for all the dental work I needed. That's mistake number 1. Then when it was time to do the fillings, Dr Young; a relatively young lady with uptight attitude and "0" customer service worked on my tooth. She did two fillings and afterwards I was hurting for one of the fillings she did for the next month and a half. Then they suggested I needed to do a crown, out of my own pocket. when I said that I didn't sign for this they said; oh it's not our fault, your teeth are sensitive. Fair enough. So Then they changed their mind for some reason and said it'd be best to have a temp filling in there and see what happens. They then made me wait for a month and a half in pain, using pain killers till the tooth recovered on its own. I went back today and doctor "chive" a cocky impolite and bad mannered doctor who'd put the temp filling in for me. With all his ungracefulness (kept telling me I had the most sensitive tooth in the world) he took out the temp filling. Oh did I say he also called me Mohammed instead of Mehrban? my name? yes he got my name wrong. Fair enough though, that's not a biggie either. Not to mention that his grumpie assistant forgot to suck out the saliva out of my mouth and I even had to let him know that I needed the saliva out. Once finished I asked him what would happen to my teeth now and he said that I was going to be OK and if anything went wrong with the tooth he would name himself "THE POPE". funny isn't it. NO it's Not! Then if that's not enough, I asked him when could we book another appointment for my other tooth that needed filling. He said he didn't want to see me till next year because I didn't have more money on my insurance coverage. I said to him if that was the case I would pay him the money out of pocket. But he said no it's ok. we'll see you next year. By the way my insurance covers me indefinitely for any kind of fillings and it never runs out. This was a horrible experience and this office doesn't even deserve a single star. Do not Go Here, they will treat you like an animal! PS: I've never written a review for any businesses in the past. If you just need a cleaning or a simple cavity filled, maybe you'd get away with it here, but for anything more advanced AVOID this place. I had my four wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Liu. First off, they didn't give me any options. They just told me to come in and Dr. Liu used only local anaesthetic, even though two of my wisdom teeth were deeply impacted. Halfway through the procedure - for which I was fully awake - Dr. Liu told me that the tooth he was trying to remove was bigger than expected. The drilling, yanking, burnt smell of jawbone was traumatizing. The after-care leaved a lot to be desired too. I didn't get the information I needed and had to come in multiple times; each time they assigned me a different doctor (and never Dr. Liu). Dr. Saintonge is very nice, but perpetually overbooked. She advised me to have the wires behind my front teeth replaced with new wires that would allow me to floss better between my teeth. That didn't sound like a bad idea, but the execution was terrible. They removed the old wire, but when I came back the next week to have the new one put in, they told me the lab had screwed up and they had to send it back. The earliest available appointment they had was two weeks later. By that time my front teeth had moved (I had been "wireless" for three weeks total), so that there was a gap between them. Three and a half years of wearing braces and now the gap between my front teeth is back. At no point did they try to make it right or offer an apology or try to squeeze me in for an earlier appointment. Terrible customer service and just a terrible all-round dental practice. read more

My opinion of Broadway dental is contradictive. I've been seeing Dr. Liu for a few years now, i've seen him for general care and he also pulled out all my wisdom teeth (which he did quick and painless-so thankful for that) he's a very good dentist when it comes to general care and dentistry. BUT I made the mistake of also seeing him and his assistant for Invisalign. To make a long story short, I very rarely seen Dr. Liu, I seen his assistant almost every visit and she took care of everything, she made the decisions and these decisions were run by and approved by Dr. Liu, I went through 5 sets braces!! Almost 6, and they still couldn't get my teeth straight, I've since stopped going back because i became frustrated with the whole process and felt like I wasn't being listened to. This past experience is keeping me from going back to Dr.Liu for general care because I suddenly stopped going back for Invisalign. -Sidenote, my teeth are straight but theyre not perfectly straight like they should be, given the amount of money I paid. My advice would be to shop around for orthodontists, go to consults , it's worth the investment in the end. read more

I've been going here for almost ten years Dr. Liu is great, he cares about his clients, he's easy to talk to, and he does great work;) I had Invisalign done many years before I came here and the old dentist never put the nodules on my teeth even though the retainers had the markings for them (they are very important to help get the best straightening out of the process) Dr. Liu called Invisalign and got them to majorly discount an express five set so I could get that fine tuning I never got from my last dentist. It ended up being so reasonable I was blown away and happy to pay it (I was honestly expecting a bill 2-3 times the size) he definitely went above and beyond to get Invisalign to give me that discount for something that wasn't their fault or Invisalign but some other old dentist of mine. I go here for my cleanings too and the reception is really great about getting you ortho and cleaning appointments together so you don't have to come in twice. Deb is also a great tech she always makes me laugh, very easy to talk to/be around, nice lady. Dr. Liu is nice, easy to talk to, has great (dental) bedside manner and he's quick while being efficient (nice to not stay in the dental chair TOO long;) I've never had any issues with them running behind, always in pretty quick. Great location right by the skytrain station or if you drive it's nice and close to a...errr....Safeway parking lot (hint hint) Great place all around! read more

Everything was covered and my teeth are all nice and clean. They didn't make me feel bad about having tons of plaque build up. Everyone was very nice and smiled. I will be back for sure! Just had my first appointment with them after not going to the dentist for two years. They were sooooooo good! Receptionists were super friendly and nice. The hygienist was soooo nice, polite and funny and made me feel so at ease. She was also so thorough and explained things to me as we went through all the x-rays, which was so so nice. Then the dentist Dr. Nour Chahwan came and she was also so thorough and extremely nice!! She explained everything in detail but in a manner that I could understand. I've never had a dentist tell me all the information like that. It was an amazing experience! I would highly recommend going here!!! I have been a patient of Broadway Station Dental Clinic since 1997 and have only had one or two experiences that would possibly negate the 4 star rating. However, they were a long time ago and the individuals involved are no longer there. Dr Liu has been taking care of my teeth every since I started going there and he is a really good dentist. The Hygienists are excellent, too. I have seen many come and go over the years, but have found all of them to be helpful and understanding with me, as I have a heart condition. My last visit was no different than any other, except it was Dr. Liu's day off and the dentist who saw me after the cleaning was extremely blunt and scolded me for not coming in for three years and not for carrying some medication with me. I didn't appreciate being called to like an idiot child and will address this with Dr. Liu when I see him next month for a filling replacement. By and large, they are an excellent Dental Clinic who know what they are doing. It is unfair to leave a clinic because of one staff member. read more

These people are incompetent and I do not write that lightly! In fact, I have never bothered to write an online review before but I think people should be warned. To cut a long story short, every mistake that could be made in diagnosing and treating a cracked molar was made - even though I went in saying I thought it was cracked and was ignored (to the point that I paid for an expensive and useless night guard that I was told I had to have), resulting in worsened pain that has still not been resolved. Needless to say, although I am now considerably out of pocket after paying for a crown that doesn't fit and has caused me jaw pain and headaches, I will be looking for someone else to fix the damage done by the two dentists I saw at this practice (I did give them a chance but I suspect they just don't take the time or care to do things properly). This place is extremely busy at all times. Wait time are always so long, and then once you're in the room, you still got to wait. The dentists are nice but they are so unprofessional, talking to each other during procedures like how they would talk to really close friends. No, I do not want to hear about what the moms were wearing at your kids soccer practice. There are definitely better places in the area. read more

Out of all the dentists I've ever been to, this place had one of the worst. My first appointment was a general checkup. I had a series of x-rays done, and I was told that I had no cavities, but I did have a cracked filling that needed to be replaced, and it was suggested to me to have a crown (however I have gone to a dentist regularly since I was 3 years old, and not one of the 3 dentists I've been to has ever suggested I needed a crown). So I scheduled another appointment to have my cracked filling replaced (but no crown). Well not only did I not receive enough freezing as for the majority of the filling procedure I could feel some pain (and usually I fall asleep in the chair) but the dentist decided to do 3 more fillings WITHOUT even TELLING me while I was in the chair or even asking my permission to do them first since they weren't covered! She informed me after the procedure was done, when I was about to pay. I find this very suspicious, as the X-rays I had done the week prior showed NO new cavities...Not only that, but the filling was so badly done that I had to come back to get it filed down which took about 1/2 an hour because she had overfilled the tooth so much. In addition to this, I have to make another dentist appointment again (trust me it will be somewhere else) as the tooth she worked on has been throbbing on and off since I had the work done (a few weeks ago now).. The staff looks friendly if your have no questions..otherwise they become rude and they have not idea what are they doing. They provide wrong information and you can ended up paying for a service that you were not prepared for. If you have insurance cover you need to be checking otherwise next appointment they will tell you that you have balance from last appointment when you asked why, they have no answered. They mess up my insurance coverage and I ended up having almost 300 dolars which I can not get reimbursement so far. Drs I believe they are ok. I believe Dr Liu is the best but when he is full booked be ready for any doctor that is around, I had a bad experience. One their doctor put me a crown, few months later it felt off. Then I have to paid again for re -cement and because they had not spot with same doctor who put me the crown they assigned the young one which I forgot her name; she was having trouble to do the job and was very rude to me. looks like she was doing me a favor whichwas not. A good crown can last for years. So I ended up paying double because my assurance had paid already for that service...Very bad bad experience,,,not coming back... read more

I called to become a new patient. The recorded message talked about how wonderfully caring the service there is. Someone answered and I began asking about fees and was given some estimates. When I asked about my Ministry coverage (I am a senior), I was switched to the front desk. When I asked this question, I was told I was being switched to the office manager. I believe this was the same person who answered the phone at the beginning. I waited five minutes, listening to recordings, and the manager never came online. I hung up and called back. Someone else answered. She switched me to the front desk again. I waited another five minutes, listening to recordings. The front desk told me I had already spoken to the office manager, which of course I knew! She wanted me to speak to the office manager again. I was now going around in the circle for the second time. I could not wait any longer and told the front desk I was not interested in being a patient there and that would be posting my experience here. read more

I will never go there again. They are not honest. I gave them all the information about my previous dentist when I booked the appointments for myself and my kids. I also gave them the information about my insurance. I was surprised that They asked me to pay for my kids cleaning after they did it as they didn't check when was the last time they did cleaning in the previous clinic they were 10 days before the eligible time. The confirmed that they got all the information but when i asked them why didn't they check when will be the eligible time, they answered we don't ask for that we just ask for the x-rays and it is your responsibility to find out from your insurance. They also charged me for exceeding the number of X-rays they took for me even I didn't ask for that. They also tried to charge me for a feeling that was covered by the insurance when I discussed that with them they found they are wrong. I will never go there again and I don't recommend any body to go there. read more
