I started looking into hats and really loved their selection online. I reached out sharing a picture of my dress and some favorites, asking about customization. They were very quick to respond and very confident in their ability to customize one of the hats that I liked to suit my dress. Throughout the process they contacted me to share material options and then a video of the final product before shipping. Unfortunately UPS lost the hat and I was devastated. I reached out to them, knowing that it was a custom order and we are getting much closer to the derby, to see if they could re-create my custom hat. They were so kind and willing to do so but cautioned me to wait a week or two in case UPS found it. This is so considerate of them, especially because UPS did find my hat nearly 2 weeks after it went missing. Because they advised me to wait I did not have to spend more money and that shows the integrity of this women-owned business. My hat is stunning! And I love to see that this has since grown into a great business that focuses on making and celebrating good, beautiful things. So when I was in Shelby Park recently, I had to stop by. First, I love the fun door that greets visitors: "Here for awhile and then gone" is just above the peep hole. And inside is a great curation of locally handmade goods. T-shirts, home goods, art, games, accessories, bags ... it's a little bit of a lot. I ended up buying a locally designed print that says "I am a museum of everything I've loved." Can't wait to find a place for it! The woman who greeted me when I came in was also such a delight. She was warm and welcoming. And she showed me their fragrance collection, a focus of Misc. Goods Co. They have a half dozen fragrances available in several types of items: spray, roll-on, candles, soaps and more. I loved the way she described each and could see myself wearing several. If you have some time, definitely pop your head in here and take it all in. It's full of that creative Louisville energy that I love.
