Lance is the best. He came out to Oakland with less than 24 hours notice to help us clean out four rooms of just... well, it wasn't good, let's say that! I phoned him up at 8pm the night before and texted him photos, and he gave me an estimate right away. A friend and his wife were splitting up, and the place was just a disaster of paper and garbage and mold and broken furniture and the smell, oh god the smell. We needed someone to help carry off the bags of trash and broken appliances that filled the apartment. In the midst of moving out the broken Ikea monstrosity, a neighbor came by and snagged a chair, and Lance helped him carry it down the street to his house. We weren't even totally ready to go and were bagging things in a panic. There was a brief lull in the action because we didn't have anything else for him to take at that moment, and instead of rushing us, Lance helped sweep out a couple of rooms. Didn't really expect to get others - I like shopping local - but it validated the great value: our pickup of two ugly items was about $100; the next two quotes came in at $250 and $298. Same stuff, just a wide range of rates. And in the time I sat down to write this (paid first due to having a work call); the driveway is empty, and bride is smiling at again being able to park in the garage.
