Our tour guide Mike was excellent and gave us a wonderful history and tour of Deadwood. We give him a 5. He is a very friendly, humorous, and knowledgeable tour guide. One of the reasons we selected Alkali Ike Tours was because they had the only air conditioned bus out of all the Deadwood tour groups in town. Unfortunately, we were in Deadwood on a very very hot day. It was 94 degrees and the air conditioning on his bus could not keep up with the heat. Because we couldn't open the windows, it made for a very hot uncomfortable ride during the tour. Thus, I give this tour a 4. I highly recommend Mike and this tour and I am sure the air conditioning will be repaired in the future.

Nice bus which takes you on a tour of the whole town plus goes inside Mt. Moriah cemetery. We came from Arkansas and did a ton of touristy things on our road trip and this was by far the biggest bang for your buck of anything to do in the Black Hills. I can't say enough about how great Mike made the experience. I'd take his tour again when we return one day just to catch up with someone who made me feel like an old friend.

It's located in what looks like an old railroad building and has a huge parking lot for the area. They have historical information and interactive displays available inside with lots of information on the town and things to do. I appreciated that I was able to get the information that I needed via the kiosk and didn't have to speak to anyone in the center. There was plenty of parking and the bathrooms were very clean. After you get the information you're looking for inside, you can step outside and there's a pleasant path/trail system by the creek nearby. I stood there for a little while. Just enjoying the sounds of nature and looking through the information from the center before we headed out to explore Deadwood. Overall, this is a very nice and welcoming information center where you can get lots of ideas for things that you want to do before you head out onto main street as it can get a little overwhelming. I definitely recommend stopping here first on your visit, especially if you appreciate being able to explore things at your own pace before the bustle of this busy town fully hits.

The tour guide gave a few very SHORT ghost stories but we did not enter any of the buildings, we could barely hear our tour guide she just talked over the incoming traffic she does not talk loud enough for big groups we all try to squeeze in as close as we can and we still had trouble hearing her. she didn't really seem to know what she was talking about as she looked down on her phone and directly read information from her phone. I feel like I could've searched up and read this information pretty easily if I wanted to it was not in depth at all it left us wondering a lot of questions, there was a lot of vague details. She mentioned a murder and when they buried the guy they left his new around his neck showed us a picture but did not explain why. She talked about wild Bill and his gravesite how it gets graffiti and vandalized but again did not tell me why and as a huge fan of wild Bill I would love to know why people think that's ok to do to his grave. I could've got more information out of the ghost adventures episode than this lady. they moved a bunch of bodies from the cemetery but again never explained why they did that leaving this tour I have more questions. We went through centennial valley, Dead wood, and lead through the Cemetery where Wild Bill Hicock, and Clamity Jane themselves are buried. And other amazing historical sights.
