I ordered the turkey with curry sauce and black rice! I was very good! And had Domhof Pilsner to wash the food down with.

Found this place on Yelp looking for pretzels. We were in port on a Viking River cruise 11/2023. Soups were amazing. Very cute inside. Service was good. Our table of 4 ordered 8 pretzels. 4 to eat with soup and 4 to go. They do charge for butter.

City of Speyer, Germany. Had sweet potato and falafel dish, great. Pilsner, cold Out door under the trees Biergarten on gravel, perfect. Friendly staff If in town, great spot. Eat it!

We had the most wonderful experience here. Service was amazing. Food was absolutely delicious. *Chefs Kiss* We Drank Christmas Beer! Absolutely have to try if you come to Visit! I will definitely be returning. I am so thankful for the great food! The atmosphere during Christmas is absolutely Charming. If you eat on the main floor and use the restroom you'll be quite pleased at the decorations and art along the way.

Food is good and is very traditional. The service is slowwwwwwwww af and like half the ppl act like they don't want to work there. There is an Asian waiter server guy and he was the only one hustling. All the other servers just looked lost and dazed. Food came out at an okay pace and the patio space is spacious and nice. The indoor decor is s little tacky but it's the look that the place is trying to sell so I guess that's fine with me.

I didn't get what I ordered. But what I got was AMAZING and I would absolutely order it again. (Entirely a communications error. I've spent my entire time so far in Germany asking if people I'm interacting with know English, and then they apologize that their English is not so good but they will try.) I ended up with one of the specials that I'm pretty sure is in the same place on a different page than what I was pointing to. It had a perfectly crunchy-on-the-outside pork knuckle, half a crisp, smoked bird (duck perhaps? dark meat, rather fattier than chicken), and a few medallions of some form of beefsteak. The pork was the best but everything was wonderful. And there were some kind of potato dumpling sides, and red cabbage kraut. The thing is, those crisp textures just can't be replicated in any practical way in a home kitchen. This is what I think of the characters eating in a Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Earthy food, prepared excellently. Also split a bowl of pumpkin soup with hubs. It's cool enough here to appreciate a deep bowl of creamy pureed veggie soup, with roasted pepinos to contrast the texture. At home the weather hasn't quite turned, but here it's definitely fall. PS I love that the "authentic" place had modern touches. Our server was wearing a dirndl and Chuck Taylors. The music piped in included Roxette (the Pretty Woman song) and Queen's Another One Bites the Dust. EDIT Went back with hubs, two of his work colleagues, & their wives. Turns out what I got was the Oktoberfest Brewer's plate of 1/4 duck, pork medallions, and a piglet knuckle. Both the other spouses got that this time, and one, who was built like a Qtip, finished it off entire. Hubs, I, & 1 coworker got pork knuckle, which was crispy and delicious and ENORMOUS. The other coworker got a cheesey, noodley dish that he says he gets every single time and loves. Also we got Apfelkuchen for dessert.

    German mashed potatoes, nice.

Even though the beer garden is nice and with a great atmosphere and the beer are awesome the food was a bit lackluster. I had the schnitzel that came with a not too sweet jam of some red berry and German mash potatoes. The potatoes were great, a chunky and a bit creamy and nice hint of vinegar. But the schnitzel was truly dull, no flavor or just way under seasoned . Also the breading arrived with a big air bubble that separated the breading from the meat. My wife thought the same of her wiener schnitzel, which is the same but with different sides. If i do return it will be for the beer not the food.

After reading the reviews, and knowing we were visiting Speyer's Christmas market, we stopped at Domhof for a quick home-made bier. We snagged a table that was reserved for after we were leaving so there was no problem getting seated/served. The hell bier was not as light-colored as is normal for hell. But it sure tasted great! We'll go back to Speyer to do some walking/shopping, then have dinner and more bier to ensure my bier taste buds are properly satisfied. The restaurant's ambiance is typical German and quite cozy.

What's not to love? Beer brewed on site, great food, awesome prices, and an lovely biergarten and restaurant. I was really excited when we came here, just the biergarten alone was stunning and you can even see the Dom zu Speyer in the seats near the entrance. I was blow away after seeing the prices too- reasonable plates from 6,50€ to 14€ (except steak) and the beer was the best prices I have seen at 6,50€ for a Liter! Also, there is a little playground for families :) a MUST when in Speyer!

Spaetzle was very good. The big salad was also very good. English menus and servers speak English well. No air conditioning.
