When I arrived, I noticed patients were waiting in the reception to see Dr. Bar-David. While I was waiting, I overheard Dr. Bar-David talking on his cellphone, telling someone that he is flying out to Israel Saturday night, and to make sure to have dinner ready. He then continued the conversation inside the examining room. While I waited, 3 more patients came in for appointments with Dr. Bar-David. I was finally called into an exam room at 10:40 AM, when a minute later, I was asked to leave the exam room by the nurse and told to wait outside. No sooner had I left the examining room and sat down than a patient who came in after me was called in to see Dr. Bar-David. He was seeing his existing patients first and having me wait when I had an appointment at 9:45 AM. At that point, I told the front desk to cancel my appointment and walked out at 10:47 AM. I called my insurance company and filed a grievance, just in case he files a claim for payment for services not provided. He is an inconsiderate and disrespectful doctor who has no consideration for patients' time.

I felt more like a cog in a machine than an individual patient. More importantly, it was impossible to get through by phone despite the call center's promise to return all calls. In addition, he encouraged me to get a knee brace through his office - had I not made quite an effort to find out what insurance would cover, I would have paid four times as much for the brace through his office than buying it online (after insurance paid it's part!). While Dr. Delamora isn't expected to know insurance policies, simply letting people know they might want to check with their insurance before automatically buying the equipment from his office a big help to patients.

THIRD: Great staff. They were tightly booked when I called for an appointment. But understanding that I was in pain, they squeezed me into his schedule. He was very helpful in explaining the root cause and how my foot works. I am feeling a lot better now that I am doing stretches and have orthotics. Also, it's worth noting that he helped advise me on what over-the-counter orthotics to try, since my insurance doesn't cover them. He even helped me to custom fit them to my feet with adhesive pads, during a follow up appointment. The first time I went the waiting room was very busy and the staff did seem a little stressed that day, but the next time I made sure to get an early morning appointment and everything was much better.
