After two washings using the shampoo, conditioner, and oil she sells with the topper, the color changed drastically. So much so that I can't wear it because it's a totally different color. When I told her what happened her response was I must of done something wrong or used the wrong product. No I used what you sold to me. I booked the haircut + blowdry service. I called the morning of the appointment to make sure a wash is included and the receptionist assured me it was. I showed up a little early and once the stylist showed up, she seemed tired and maybe a little sick. She was pretty uninterested in my haircut and there was some communication issues regarding the length desired which seemed to frustrate her. I only get my haircut every couple years and never done such a big chop, so this was a pretty special occasion for me. Unfortunately, it was quite awkward/rushed. Once she cut the foot off, she was like "okay all done" and I was confused because I paid for the haircut & blow dry. She asked in a condescending tone "oh you want that? My next appointment might be here soon though". I don't appreciate the implication that asking for a service I paid for is strange nor did I appreciate the insinuation that my salon appointment should be over in 10 minutes for the next person's convenience. Considering I had called in the morning to make SURE a wash was included, I was annoyed that the stylist didn't seem willing to do the full extent of the service. I've had excellent experiences at many salons across Houston with friendly, personable stylists so this was a let down. Maybe other employees are nicer and I can't speak to the quality of color/extensions but I would not recommend this salon for just a basic haircut. Uptown Salon: A Downturn in Service!…read more I am absolutely livid and utterly disappointed with my recent experience at Uptown Salon. I booked an appointment well in advance for my mother to get her hair colored and styled for a special occasion. We were both really looking forward to it, hoping for a bit of pampering and a confidence boost. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that things were not going to go smoothly. The salon was chaotic, with stylists rushing around and clients crammed into every available space. Despite having a scheduled appointment, we were left waiting for an unacceptable amount of time. Then came the real insult. After nearly an hour of waiting, we were informed that, due to some "unforeseen circumstances" (which sounded suspiciously like overbooking), they would not be able to color and style my mother's hair after all. Let me repeat that: they couldn't do the service we had booked and waited for. No apologies, no attempt to reschedule, and certainly no offer of compensation for our wasted time and ruined plans. My mother was incredibly upset, and frankly, so was I. Uptown Salon's complete disregard for their clients' time and appointments is appalling. Their lack of professionalism and basic customer service is beyond belief. If you value your time and want to avoid disappointment, I strongly advise you to take your business elsewhere. This salon is quite a scheduling disaster.
