I booked an appointment well in advance for my mother to get her hair colored and styled for a special occasion. We were both really looking forward to it, hoping for a bit of pampering and a confidence boost. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that things were not going to go smoothly. The salon was chaotic, with stylists rushing around and clients crammed into every available space. Despite having a scheduled appointment, we were left waiting for an unacceptable amount of time. Then came the real insult. After nearly an hour of waiting, we were informed that, due to some "unforeseen circumstances" (which sounded suspiciously like overbooking), they would not be able to color and style my mother's hair after all. Let me repeat that: they couldn't do the service we had booked and waited for. No apologies, no attempt to reschedule, and certainly no offer of compensation for our wasted time and ruined plans. My mother was incredibly upset, and frankly, so was I. Uptown Salon's complete disregard for their clients' time and appointments is appalling. Their lack of professionalism and basic customer service is beyond belief. If you value your time and want to avoid disappointment, I strongly advise you to take your business elsewhere. This salon is quite a scheduling disaster.

My oldest daughter is Hispanic and has thick black hair and my younger daughter has thick blonde hair and both of their haircuts were great! They were even closing and she was supposed to be getting off but stayed to make sure my hair got to the color I wanted and did my cut too! They are very up front with the cancelation policies and if you do not cancel in the alloted time that you will be charged, which I think is fair, especially for what you may be asking for, like in my case it's never just something simple so they have to block off that time and potentially lose out on a job for that day if you cancel without the right amount of time, so to me that's fair and makes sense. They are clear with that when booking the appt. They also check with you multiple times for your appt giving you ample time to confirm or cancel properly. I'm sure that if it was an actual emergency and you could maybe prove that it was, I'm sure they would work with you if you are calm, kind and understanding that they are doing their job and they are losing out on potential income for that period if you don't show up or don't cancel in the time frame. But thats just me, I love them and the place to much so I personally wouldn't mind the fee if I didn't cancel properly, or show up. Anywho, bottom line is they are all awesome, the salon is beautiful, a ton of services (one day I'm going to get extensions done with the lady that does them, she is also so sweet and fun!), wide variety of free beverages and snacks, and sell great products.
