Horrible salon! I initially had my appt with Jordan but a few days prior was told my appt was with Joseph & that he would do a great job. I figured to give him a shot but after I paid $95 for quite frankly one of the worst cuts I've gotten (and spending the most I've ever spent) I was in shock. Joseph did not listen to what I wanted and one of those being that my hair tends to get heavy at the bottom, left with exactly that. I called the salon a few days later after giving it sometime to wash/restyle but I still hated it. Salon would only offer to fix but after driving 70 miles one way, I was not willing to waste all that time & gas when it should have all been done the first time. Salon manager said she spoke with the owner and that's all they can do & will not issue a refund. PLEASE AVOID THIS SALON AT ALL COST! read more

Having a big family & lots of kids, I've lived & learned that some people simply need extra time & a high quality hair cut to achieve the look that they want. I went there last summer for a trim. The stylist, Karla, insulted my hair the entire time I was there. For example: I have naturally red, long hair. It's not damaged or anything -- I get compliments on it frequently. The stylist took one look at it and told me she couldn't understand why redheads never colored their hair and that she could "make it better." And continued to talk that way the entire appointment. Then they charged me $80 for the trim. I took off all of an inch and a half. I will not be back. read more

DM3 is the best place I have been to so far in Athens. The place I had been going before I found DM3 never gave me the cut or color I actually wanted, they claimed to know what they were talking about but everytime I left their salon I came out looking like a zebra as my boyfriend would say lol. My hair always looked like a penny had rusted in some spots with the occasional brown blobs. Not only that this place swore to me there was something wrong with my hair and it wouldn't take any color without doing a ton of extra stuff to it. Today I walked into DM3 a hot mess and came out looking like a princess, Karla Patton did my hair and she did an amazing job. She got all of the ugly red and cooper tones out of my hair and even fixed the horrible layer job I got at the other place. DM3 also assured me that my hair would take color and nothing was wrong with me. I was amazed at how nice everyone was and how upbeat the whole place was. I'm new to the area and came in for highlights based on the reviews and prices on their website. Salon itself is very pleasing to the eye, and the staff was very friendly. My stylist made my hair look nice/natural but not as bold in color as what I was asking for and showed her with a photo. The style was better than the color. The style actually was fabulous. What surprised me the most was the price at double what the starting price online stated. This was the priciest I've ever paid for color. Total cost was 190$ before tip; the toner alone cost 50$--this would've been nice to know as the salons I'm used to don't charge additional for toner with highlights...ouch! read more

I had the worst expensive hair cut of my life here. I came in with clean hair so I did not need a shampoo. Mckenzie asked lots of questions about how I wanted my hair cut and I gave her lots of guidance but when I got home and could really see my hair cut, it was very uneven. It wasn't what I wanted at all. I guess it was my fault I didn't ask how much it was for her service, because I was shocked when I got to the counter to pay, it was $50! I had my hair cut there months ago but couldn't remember the name of the lady that did it, so I just booked online with whoever was available. First time client after going to high end Atlanta salon for fifteen years. Salon itself is beautiful. Very modern, lovely setting & decor. They also carry great product lines. My single complaint is that I returned two weeks after my initial appointment for high lights to have root color adjusted as we didn't quite "nail it" the first go round. I was charged around $250 at first appt for color only (no cut) & charged an additional $150+ at the second appt. (2 wks later). In my many years of working with colorists/stylists, it has been customary to not charge additionally if the color or style wasn't exactly right the first time. As a 20 yr business owner myself, I did not feel that this was handled appropriately. BUT still DM3 appears to be a great salon w certainly a five star reputation in Athens area. read more
